According to 1 Peter and James, this enemy is a roaring lion looking to devour the faithful, but believers are called to resist him and stand firm in their faith. Jesus Himself identified the devil as a liar and murderer, as seen in John 8:44, and 1 John 3:8 affirms that Jesus came to destroy the works of this enemy. Ultimately, as Romans 16:20 promises, God will soon crush this adversary under believers' feet, securing their victory.
