Lord's Work
The term "Lord's work" in the Bible generally refers to the tasks and missions that are undertaken in service to God and in accordance with His will. This concept encompasses a wide range of activities, including preaching the Gospel, serving the needy, building up the Church, and living a life that reflects the teachings of Christ. For instance, in 1 Corinthians 15:58, Paul encourages believers to be steadfast and immovable in the work of the Lord, reminding them that their labor is not in vain. This highlights the importance of dedication in performing tasks that align with God's purposes.Additionally, the Old Testament often reflects this theme through the work of the priests and prophets, who were called to lead the people in worship and obedience (see Malachi 2:7). The term may also extend to the personal work of every believer, as seen in Ephesians 2:10, which states that we are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand. Overall, "Lord's work" signifies any endeavor that seeks to glorify God, further His Kingdom, and serve others in love and faithfulness.
