Hugh Latimer (c. 1487-1555) was an English Protestant bishop and Reformer who was burned at the stake with Nicholas Ridley under Queen Mary I, famously declaring: 'We shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.'
