In this sermon, Joshua Daniel challenges listeners to find someone equal to Jesus in their literature or scriptures. He emphasizes that belief in Jesus is not just intellectual, but requires a personal relationship with Him. Daniel highlights the importance of living a life that reflects one's faith, rather than just professing belief. He urges listeners to prioritize God's kingdom over worldly pursuits and not let the Father's business go neglected.

Welcome to the Lord's Challenge, our weekly quarter-hour broadcast, bringing the reality of God's Word to all people everywhere. Stay tuned as Joshua Daniel challenges us to a walk with God and the corresponding impact that will have on our lives, families, and society today. The scripture tells us that as many as believe in Jesus, that is, not just the intellectual cognition. I often challenge people everywhere, come on find me another equal to the Lord Jesus. Out of your literature, out of your scriptures, find me someone whom you can put beside Jesus. No answer, and that can't be controverted. Now my dear friends, we are not just talking about a historic Jesus, like we talk about Buddha or some of those teachers who are so greatly revered that if you should talk of them in a classroom or a hospital, no objection will be raised. But Christ is the rock of offense, so you may be warned off if you begin to talk about the Lord Jesus Christ. But listen, tell whoever dares to tell you, boss or whoever, this is a free country and I don't want thought control. When I was in communist East Germany, I made it a point, you know, finding a place in a restaurant was not easy. You had to queue up in a long queue and then finally you get seated and people around you, quite a crowd. I made it a point of saying, let us pray and we would bow our heads in prayer. You know, folks, those who are ashamed of Jesus Christ have much to be ashamed of because you cannot be ashamed of the Lord Jesus, the nature of sonship. Now let us see the very first words of Jesus, recorded words of Jesus, Luke 2nd chapter and 49th verse. And he said unto them, to Mary, how is it that you sought me? Wist you not that I must be about my father's business? What? Wist, of course, is the old English form of, do you not know? You see, witan, to know, is the old English word. Wist you not that I must be about my father's business? You know, the father's business is going a begging. Everybody is so busy with their own business and their own business really means making money. That's what they were tutored to do. That's what their parents expected them to do. And that's what they are faithfully doing. A bunch of Judas's, I call them Judas's. What about the father's business? Let it go a begging. You know, my dear friends, of course, we make an honest living. We put food on the table for the children. But then is it all to be done at the total exclusion of God's kingdom? That means, in other words, what the communists say about you, that you are just a person who needs a shelter, some food and some opportunities and they're an end. You're just protoplasm. You're dead like a dog when you die. That's the end of the story. But when we are told in the scripture, it is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment. How would you stand if you were before the judge today, the judge of the whole earth? And he asked you, what did you do with your life? All right, you say you went to church. You said you believed that Jesus died and rose again. But what did you do with your life? Lord, I was very good at money minting, you know, and I brought a ton of it up here. So your aim to take a ton of it with you? No, my friends, not a penny, not a penny. One friend of mine said to me, a man who was in fact afraid of our meetings, because he said, hey, I would have to confess my sins. I would have to make restitution. And so he stayed away from the meetings as long as he could. But somehow he was drawn in and he obeyed God and he made restitution. And you know, he as a soldier in the last war in the postal unit, he had much mail could not be delivered. And especially in the Burmese front, many Tommy's just died. And there are some huge cemeteries up there and money poor. Oh, what casualties. The allies suffered. Of course, the Japs too did suffer. But they were great fighters. They could exist on a little bit of rice. Whereas our boys would give themselves away by all their canteen tins and cans, you know, they had to bury them after eating. And they would give their tracks away very easily. And in jungle warfare, there were no match to the Japs. But, you know, this man could not find the soldiers to whom he could deliver those letters. So what was he to do with piles and piles of paper? He would sell them to the local merchants, drink up the money and not be accountable at all. With the result that when he repented, he wrote back to the war office, the war office in London. This is what I did. I was irresponsible. I sold off them and drank up the money. I will return this money. You see, my friends. And that man told me when my mother died, he said my sisters got there ahead of me. Why? To grab the gold. What? When a mother dies, you want to grab the gold, what, from her ears or where? You see, that's the culture of some people. That's all. How sad, how sickening. And that's the kind of mindset with which they go into the professions. What kind of professional men would they make when money is central in their hearts? I want to tell them better set up a business somewhere and do it without a compassionate Christ-like heart. You can't be a doctor. You can't be a nurse when money is central in your heart. That's a plain fact. I must be about my father's business. Are we about our father's business? Are we doing anything at all? You know, a police boss told me an amazing thing. He was very interested in my preaching. And this policeman who was at the top was an Indian fellow. And he said to me, we had a party and people were expected to bring some food. And here was a noteworthy surgeon. And he said, I found this huge potato. And so that was his contribution to the dinner. The man brought a big potato with him. Can you see how greed can go? And then this same policeman told me ice was disappearing from a hospital. And one couldn't figure out how was ice disappeared. And finally we got him. It was the Indian administrator of the whole hospital. And I took my police wagon and said to him, get in. And the man said, please give me a break. No, hop in. You know, my dear friends, it can become a real disease. Your own money, your own thing, your own prosperity, nothing to do for Jesus. I must be about my father's business. Let's pray. Loving father, rivers of blood have been flowing. Oh, my father, you have told us in your living word that you set the captive free. That's the spirit which is upon Jesus to declare liberty to them who are bound. Oh, my father. Oh, teach us to be broken. Hear our prayer in Jesus' holy name. Amen.
