And in the second chapter, he says, “Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?” Do you know that people are being caught—not by a flood of molasses, but by a flood of demon power, by a flood of sin, by “the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”? And that alone is proof that they’ve sinned against God. You couldn’t—God wouldn’t let you—get into sin if you didn’t sin against Him, if you bowed your heart to pay heed to His wonderful word—that Word of life that comes to me from the very heart of the Father through the heart of the Son. “God hath spoken to us by His Son.” Young man, young woman, that ought to settle your doubts and your “higher criticism,”—your doubts about creation. Jesus Christ puts His seal upon the whole Old Testament, upon every word that’s contained in the Old Testament. Jesus Christ emerges from the pages of the Old Testament. He is the One that lives in the words of the prophets and of Moses. No wonder the world’s full of apostate Christians, and you don’t know who you’re dealing with: the “sons of God,” full of lust, instead of being moved by the spirit of God, like Noah was “with godly fear to prepare an ark to the saving of his house.” Oh, beloved, “God hath spoken to us,” thank, God.
