Sermon Transcription
Thank you for joining me. God actually answers prayer. We live in a society where the power of God is largely denied in the Western world. We find that in America and in Europe, there are many pastors who even believe that the time of the apostolic age has passed. We have found in our research that in many parts of the world, which we consider to be third world countries, we find that God still answers in a miraculous and wonderful way. And so we are joining you today to even talk about the growth of the Chinese house church movement, which stems from intensely fervent prayer. We have so much in our society that we don't even pray anymore. The prayer meetings on Wednesday nights are dilapidated. There are virtually no people there to pray. And we expect things from God. We demand things of God. And then when some of them come, we say this is a confirmation of our faith. But beloved, the fervent prayer of a righteous man, a veil is much, and fire might even come down from heaven. So beloved, in the house church movement in China, the congregations cry out to God with weeping and tears in intercession for the lost in their country and for their persecutors. Such passionate praying will shock and disturb many of us. Yet the church there truly believes that God answers genuine prayer. And approximately 80% of 100 million converts in China were converted because there was an answer to prayer in their house church. Or when one of the itinerant preachers came to see them, they prayed for the household and a miracle happened, and then they believe in this name that is above every name, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have a God that is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And I'm honored to perhaps share just a few short examples of how God still answers prayer. I was speaking with a group of Christians who had contacts with the underground church, and they related to me that even as they were praying for a woman with a shortened leg, all of the children started screaming uncontrollably. And these Christians asked, what is happening? What is happening? And the children were saying that their mother's leg was growing before their eyes. That was a miracle of God, praise God. I heard of this itinerant preacher in the East, and he went to a man whose cow had died, and this cow was needed for the livelihood of that family. This itinerant preacher, no one knows his name, he prayed for that cow, and the cow came back to life. You say, this is impossible, don't tell me these things. May I tell you that I myself also have experienced incredible miracles. I used to be head of a large corporation, and I have experienced cancer, and I had a cancer growing on my face. It fell off in response to God stepping in. I had a muscle atrophy in my left leg where the upper thigh muscle disappeared, and I had no more coverage in the United States, and I could not go and see a doctor. Two of my brothers anointed me with oil in accordance with scripture and prayed, and that muscle grew back the next day. Now, beloved, the greatest miracle is still when you are born again, and I hope that you will accept this truth of God who has given us new life through the Lord Jesus Christ. So I pray that you would be moved in your heart to search the scriptures and to search books like the one that I'm holding in my hand, which is called Principles for the Gathering of Believers. If you search such books, but refer first to the Bible, and be born again for eternity, because God loves you incredibly. He does not wish that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Thank you for watching.
