Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

But the doers law is the law is going to be justified and the only way you can become a doer is through Christ. And so you begin your walk, you've got a hedge around you and you know something? God has told those powers of darkness, shut up! And buddy, they shut up. But they do shoot you these little flaming missiles where you get to go through the test. And you go, anger is going to come by and say, I believe he loves anger more than he does God. Then unforgiveness will come by when somebody hurts you or disappoints you. Have you ever noticed that anybody ever disappoints you or hurts you immediately? Something's talking to your mind, unforgiveness, huh? And these come and test you right there. And then you take every thought captive and say, be this the Lord Jesus Christ, amen? And then you're putting them on the blood, you're putting them on the blood, they're on the blood, on the blood. And then your mind is being renewed, amen? And you're being conformed to the image of Jesus and you're possessing the land. And let's just say while you're possessing that walking right there, if you make a mistake, what if it's sin? You're going to know it. You know how you're going to know it? Your peace will be gone. All of a sudden, hell is dropped out of the sky on you. The powers of darkness have been standing there waiting for you to do something. That's what discipline and reproof is. God lets them come in, but he's not going to let them destroy you. He's going to let them come in and beat you up good, whip you. And then when you break God's law, bang! In they come. I said, dear Lord, I had peace beyond anybody's comprehension right now. And I'm telling you what, and all of a sudden they fill your mind full of God doesn't love you. He doesn't care anything about you. You are lost. You're not saved. And all these kind of things. And you know what? When you lose your peace, you know what you do? You go before the throne room for grace and time of need and say, Lord, I don't know what I've done. But I want to tell you one thing. I love you, Lord, more than anything, any other thing in this world. And I have a repentant heart. Lord, show me, Spirit of God, show me what I've done so I can repent. And you may not know for an hour. You may not know for one day. You may not know for three days. And you may not know for four days because God's going to let you get shook up there. And you're going to get shook up and beat up there. You're going to remember it. And then you're going to be driving along. The Spirit of God is going to start showing you. And if he is, go over and park on the side of the road real quick, because when he shows you what it is, you're going to confess it out of your mouth and turn from it in your heart. And immediately when you do, it's placed on the blood. And when it's placed on the blood, God no longer sees you as a lawbreaker. And when you're no longer a lawbreaker, those powers of God just have even more ground in you. And they have to butt out. And peace returns and you go into high praise. That's the reason you don't need to be driving. And that's the way the Lord teaches you. If you fall down, a Christian will get back up again. But if you're walking in a form of godliness, you'll break God's law and a stronghold will come into you. And instead of repenting, you start walking around and say, I have peace, although I'm walking in stubbornness. From my heart, that's a false peace. And then if you continue to walk and you don't get in on the blood, then the powers of darkness, he's going to get more ground. They get more ground until it chains and bondages and it starts building fortresses in you. And then the diseases come in until you're destroyed. And that's where a form of godliness has been leading us. That's where we've been being deceived. And right now, the Lord's calling out the wise virgins to come and get ready. Get ready to meet the bridegroom because he's coming after a holy, righteous. Blameless bride, she's going to have a pure heart. And they say, well, I don't believe I want to come to the marriage supper of the lamb. I've got this farm down here, Lord. Lord, I've got these oxen down here to take care of. Lord, I've got a family here to take care of. I don't want to have my heart warts. I don't want to sit there all that time and be bored by the word of God and eat that bread that come out of heaven.
