In 1958, moved by a Life Magazine article about New York gang violence, he started a street ministry, founding Teen Challenge to help addicts and troubled youth. His book "The Cross and the Switchblade," co-authored in 1962, became a bestseller, chronicling his work with gang members like Nicky Cruz. In 1987, he founded Times Square Church in New York City, serving a diverse congregation until his death. Wilkerson wrote over 30 books, including "The Vision," and was known for bold prophecies and a focus on holiness. Married to Gwen since 1953, they had four children. And before we pray, I'd like you to read with me Ephesians, the first chapter, beginning verse 17. Ephesians, the first chapter, verse 17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, you know, illuminated, in other words, that you may know, folks, we're supposed to know something about Him, that you may know what is the hope of His calling and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us who would believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and sent Him at His own right hand into heavenly places. Verse 19, and to know what is the exceeding greatness of His power to whom? To us who believe. The present greatness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's pray. Lord, we thank You for this Tuesday night prayer meeting, to see so many hungry, anxious people who love You and are on fire for You, and they'd rather be here than sitting and watch television, they'd rather be here than doing something for their own pleasure. They're here, Lord, because they love You. Now, of those, Lord, that are visiting us tonight, we pray that the spirit of Jesus would be manifest to them, that they can walk out here saying, I recognize the presence of Jesus. I bind in the name of the Lord any hidden spirit, every lying spirit, every demonic spirit, every kingdom of darkness to be dispelled, that there be freedom tonight to hear and preach the word of the living God. Lord, we thank You for the service tonight. We thank You for the glory of the Lord Jesus upon us. Now, show us something of Your greatness tonight, we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. Lord, I need You. Thank You. Now, Paul's prayer for the church in the passage that I've read to you is simply this. I want God, Paul is saying, to reveal to you not just the past greatness of Jesus, but the present greatness of Jesus, and not for the disciples that you read about, but for you of all ages, and now especially in the last days in which we live, that you and I would have a revelation of how great our Christ is at this present time, that you may know, you who read it right now, you may know that His exceeding greatness and His power to us would. The church seems to have such a great reverence for the historical Jesus who walked on earth, the Galilean Jesus, the Son of Man, the Teacher, the Miracle Worker. We have a great reverence for that Christ. We never get tired of talking about His miracles, how He chased demons, how He stood so strongly against the temptations of the devil, how He opened blind eyes, how He unstopped deaf ears, and how the paralytics would leap, and withered arms would be restored, and the upper seat was wiped out, and water turned into wine, multitudes fed by a few loaves and fishes, and the dead were raised. And we marvel at this Jesus. We never tire of telling those stories. But somewhere in history, I don't know what happened, that we began to limit the glory of this Christ. We limited His greatness as if to say there was a time in history that He stopped doing these things, that He's no longer turning water into wine, that He's no longer raising the dead, He's no longer manifesting Himself. Now you see, we're willing, especially in these days, to develop a theology of a spiritual God, a spiritual Christ, who meets us only in the spiritual realm, but is not very involved in the natural realm. You see, we really trust the Lord for healing of our pain inwardly, our guilt. We trust Him to give us eternal salvation. All of these unseen spiritual things, that's why we talk about Jesus still being God. But you see, in the natural world, we have never really dealt with this, the greatness of Jesus, a God who's a God of our job, a God of our bills, a God of our marriages, a God of our homes, a God of our children. He's involved in everyday life. We've relegated Him to some spiritual realm. And you see, you can't see any of these things, and then if you don't get the answer, if you don't see it, it's spiritual, so it doesn't matter. But if you're out on a limb in the natural, you've got to have a Christ that really works. He better show Himself great, or then it appears to the world as though you don't know what you're talking about. Paul is saying we have a need for a revelation of Christ's power since He's been raised from the dead. Now, not a person who reads this book doesn't believe that Christ had power when He walked this earth. But my Bible says that He was raised in power. And the Scripture says God had put all things under His feet, Ephesians 1.22. He said on the right hand of God even now, He has all power in heaven and earth. Now, I was in prayer this past week, and I said, Oh God, what do you have me speak to our church body this next service? Last Saturday of my week. And finally, the Lord just gave me one sentence. Usually it'll just pour out, but I got one sentence. And the Lord said, You build on that. And it was just a paragraph, just one sentence, and it knocked a bomb in my heart. And exactly as the Lord gave it to me, here it is. Jesus has never been more powerful than He is right now. Jesus has never been more powerful than He is right now. Now, tonight I'm preaching probably the simplest message I've ever preached in my life. But oh, that burst in my inner man. David, I am as powerful now. I've never been more powerful than I am right now. He is far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in the world to come. What glorious implications if we really believe that tonight. Now, the Christ of Galilee, the Christ of the New Testament, something we must know about Him, and we all know about Him, and it's a sign of His power. He never gave up on the dead. Do it again. Jesus never gave up on the dead. He claimed to be the resurrection and the life, and He went about proving it. And I tell you now, He's still the resurrection and the life. I wonder if we dare believe what Jesus said about Himself. Very last thing to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of God, and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in Himself, so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself. Now, I want you to follow me very closely now. Jesus is not speaking of the final resurrection. He said the hour is coming, and now is. Now is. Not in some future date. That's a part of it. The dead shall hear the voice of God. Some of you, you know what I'm talking about. You were dead in trespasses and sin. And you heard the voice of God, and you were raised from the dead. And I'll tell you what, that's as miraculous as if you died in the natural. And I believe God is raising the dead in the natural also, all over the world. And more and more as we see His appearance. But you see, we all have a graveyard in our past. We all have a graveyard somewhere where we have a tombstone, and we have buried somebody or something, and we've actually put a tombstone on it, and there's a date on it, and we remember it, and we just as soon forget it. And I'm going to take you back to that grave tonight. Why don't you get a shovel and dig it up. And I want to talk about the resurrection of power, that you may have walked away from something God wanted to resurrect. Now listen closely, please. There's a dear sister in this church, very close to Gwen and I. And she just returned recently from a trip to a graduation of her son and daughter. Son and daughter graduated. Now her husband left her for another woman a number of years ago. And there's no hope of resurrection of that marriage. It's dead. She remembers the date. There's a tombstone there in her memory. That moment when she knew it was dead, it's all over. And that takes a while before these words come, it's all over, it's finished, and the tombstone is erected. And she had to go, and we prayed for her, that the Lord would give her strength to face the fact that he would be there with his new wife and the rest of the family. And she came home and she said something that helped spark what I'm talking about tonight. She said, well listen, I came out of that experience. The Lord gave me grace. The Lord helped me all through it. But I came away with the burden for the salvation of his soul and his wife. You see, God never gives up on the dead. Jesus never gives up on the dead. That man is dead and trespasses his sin and so is his wife. And the Lord made her go back to that graveyard and dig it up and ask God, ask Jesus, who is life, who never gives up on the dead, to ask resurrection life. There's another sister in this church. Her husband left her a number of years ago. And he's gone out into sin. And there's no chance of resurrection for that marriage probably, though I'm sure she would be willing. The question is that he would ever be willing or ever want it. And he was much used of the Lord at one time and now he's out deep in sin. That marriage is probably dead. There's a tombstone there. But you see, Jesus never gives up on the dead. He never gives up on the dead. And I went to her a few weeks ago and I said, I have a burden for your husband. I want to pray with you that God would resurrect him from the dead. That God would give him life. And she's had that burden for that. I don't know who you buried. It may be you were divorced and there's a tombstone back there somewhere. But Jesus is resurrection and he's life. I'm not talking about just resurrecting the marriage. But have you buried that man or that woman? Have you buried them and walked away and the graveyard is there? And you're the only one that can bring life to the situation. You're the only one that can touch God. That person may die and go to hell. There's a father grieving over a 16-year-old daughter. They used to take long walks together. She had one marriage, beautiful, innocent. But she got in with the wrong crowd. And now she's on crack. She walks the street as a prostitute selling her body, trying to support her habit. And that man weeps as he holds the little girl's picture. The father is heartbroken because she's emaciated. She probably has AIDS. And as far as he's concerned, she's dead. She never comes home. They don't talk to him. And all he can remember are the quiet times with her walking the street and playing with her. And how innocent she was in the apple of his eye. But that father's given up. But you see, Jesus never gives up on the dead because he's the resurrection and the life. The pastor wrote to me last week, gave me a terribly sad story. He really had a burden for souls. And his wife also had a burden for souls. Now she wasn't on fire as much as he was. And evidently there was some compromise in her life. But he asked her one day, he said, A brother was coming out of jail, out of prison. They had two children, two lovely children. The pastor, he said, This boy is really repentant. This young man is really repentant. Could you pray about taking him into our home? And she said yes. They opened up their home to this convict. And saw signs of repentance. And he could hardly, up to this time, pay the bills for the two children himself and his wife. And they were struggling. And just very little money coming in. And doing the best he knew how. Three months later he comes home and finds the man and his wife defiling his own marriage bed. And he wrote me a letter and I had tears in my heart as I was reading it. He said, Brother Wilkerson, He said, I feel absolutely dead. The situation, I can't even pay the bills for these. And now she's expecting a child to this convict. And I have to face this. I still love the woman, but I feel there's nothing but death all around me. The situation is absolutely hopeless. Absolutely hopeless. He said, I see no way out. Well, this brother may hear this tape. We may even send it to him. I'm not using his name so he doesn't need to be embarrassed. But I'll say to him right now, Jesus never gives up on the dead. I don't know how he does it. I don't know how he does it. But he brings life to that which is absolutely hopeless, which is dead. God can bring life out of it. He said, I'm the resurrection and I am the life. Hallelujah. The grieving father by the name of Jairus. Jairus came to Jesus. I want you to go to Mark the 5th chapter and show you the story of the grieving father who came. And this has to do with resurrection life. Mark the 5th chapter. Jairus comes to Jesus. I want you to begin reading with me Mark the 5th chapter. Begin to read verse 22. Verse 22, Mark 5. And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name. And when he saw him, Jesus, he fell at his feet. And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the pay of death. I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her that she may be healed and she shall live. And Jesus went with him. And much people followed him and thronged him. And a certain woman had an issue of blood twelve years and suffered many things and many physicians. Spent all that she had. Was nothing bettered, but later grew worse. When she heard of Jesus, she came in the purse behind and touched his garment. And she said, If I may but touch his clothes, I'll be whole. You know this story. She touches the hem of his garment and the issue of blood is dried up and she is healed. The procession is stopped on the way to Jairus' house. Can you imagine Jairus as he turns to Jesus. And by the way, he represents most of the body of the church of Jesus Christ. We are like this man. In a crisis, we know that Jesus is the only answer. We run to him and we fall on our faces and say, Lord, if you don't do it, it's not going to get done. You're the only hope. And that's a good thing. This man had a major faith. He said, If you'll just come and lay hands, she'll be well. He had a major faith. And this was a declaration of faith. Jesus, all it's going to take is a touch from you. You have all the power in the world. You have everything I need. So far, so good. And I imagine when he said, Master, will you please come. Jesus went with him, the scripture says. And I imagine his heart was pounding with joy and hope. He says, Thank God there's hope. He's heard me. He's coming with me. And I see him walking toward his house. And all of a sudden, a terrible pain hits his heart. What if we're too late? I know he has all the power, but what if we're too late? What if she dies while we're on the way? And I imagine just as he's thinking that, Jesus stops. Because you see, here's the kind of faith that most people in the church of Jesus Christ have today. They have faith to the point of death. Up to the point of hopelessness. They don't have faith beyond hope, beyond death. But they have faith up to the point of death or to the point of hopelessness. You see this man is saying, I need Jesus, but I also need time. Jesus and time. No, if he really knew in his heart, he wouldn't have been so upset, I'm sure. Human nature being what it is. And Jesus stops. And he says, who touched me? And the crowd is going, and they're looking all around, and he's thinking to himself, I've got to get there. Yes, Jesus is here, but it could be too late. She may die in the process. And that's what most Christians base their faith on, Jesus and time. Jesus and conditions. Jesus is above all time. He's not obligated to time. He's not limited to time or space or conditions. He's above all conditions, and time means nothing to Jesus. He's above it all. Death means nothing to him. He's above it all. And you know, I see this father grieving and saying, I have got to get Jesus into my house. Had he only known who Jesus really was, really resurrected in life, he would have been at ease. And Jesus permits the time to run out. He always does if you're going to be trained in faith. He always lets the time run out as far as your clock is concerned. And mine. Now, I believe in Holy Ghost timing. I sure do, but it's his timing. The answer to the Holy Ghost. You see, they had faith up to this point. You see, back at the bedside were all the nominal Christians, all the nominal believers who say Jesus is the cure and they're waiting. Oh, when Jesus comes, everything's going to be alright. He's the healer. Call for Jesus. And they're all sitting there biting their fingernails, waiting for the healer. Yes, Jesus, we believe you're the great physician. You're the great healer. Nothing's impossible with you. But please hurry or we won't need you. Jesus, if you're not on time, you're not going to be relevant. If you don't make it on time, oh, you're going to be the mourner. Because it's going to be all over. And I know many of you sitting here right now, you think it's too late. Too late for your boy, too late for your girl, too late for your marriage, too late... Your job situation looks hopeless and as far as you're concerned, it's dead. And the little girl did die. And I see them take her pulse. They pronounce her dead. And what is the first order of business on the funeral arrangements? Go tell Jesus he's not needed. And I see them send a messenger. Look at verse 35. And while he yet spake, the cane from the ruler of the synagogue's house certainly said, Thy daughter is dead. Why trouble the master any further? It's all over. You don't need him. Thanks, Jesus, but no thanks. You missed the date. But what final words do those sound like? Your daughter's dead. Your marriage is dead. Your job is dead. Have you had somebody out there? Did they ever tell you that? It's all over. It's dead. It's gone. It's all kaput. Well, we've got a lot of messengers that bring those kinds of words to you. This is so messed up, there's no way out. It's all over. It's dead. Nobody can do anything about it. But those dread words meant nothing to Jesus. You look at the next verse. Verse 36. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he said to the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid only believe. And the original Greek, a better rendition is this. As soon as Jesus, as if he did not hear what was spoken, said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be afraid, simply believe. The Lord had a plan. Had nothing to do with time. Had nothing to do with condition. None of that didn't matter to Jesus because he had a plan. He's on his way. And oh, God help us. We are always giving up while Jesus is on the way with a plan. You listen to the doubt in their words. Why trouble thou the master any further? In other words, why hold on when it's all over? It's a dead issue, leave it alone. No, you can't leave that past alone. No, you can't because you have to apply the resurrection life of Jesus Christ at every point of death in your past. And I believe one day we'll stand before the Lord and answer for that. Because we have, and I'm going to show you the name of the scripture that we have in us, the very same resurrection life that Jesus has in him. The very same. You know, what could have Jairus said to Jesus if he'd listened to these reporters, these ill reporters? What would he have said? Thanks Jesus. As he dismisses himself from the presence of the Lord and says, I know you meant well. Maybe it would have been all right if that woman who was bleeding didn't stop us and we'd have made it on time. Thank God for a year we read about my daughter. I knew in my heart that if we'd have made it, you could have done it. I know you could have done it, Lord. And that's exactly what Mary said to Jesus after her brother Lazarus died and he's in the tomb. She says, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. If you'd only been on time. I know, God, by your Spirit put in my heart, by demonstration of the power of the Holy Ghost tonight, that many of you have given up. You have written it off. You've erected a tombstone. You said it's hopeless. It's dead. And it's not. It's not dead at all. Lord, if you'd been here, my brother wouldn't have died. And then listen to the faith of the neighbors and the friends that kind of say that. Then the faith to the point of death. And then up to the point of hopelessness. When they looked at condition, oh, that's it? And some of them said, could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? Not Mary, not Martha, not one of her friends or family, many of them probably believers, not one of them did believe. They believed for resurrection. They believed only to the point of death. Surely, if he had been here, couldn't he have kept this man from dying? Oh, that they would have had faith to say, he's here, he can bring him to life. Oh, what a terrible scene at the home of Jairus. And I read the account of what happened when Jesus got to that man's house. And I'm offended. I'm deeply offended. And let's just read it there. In verse 37, he suffered no man to follow him, saying, Peter, James, and John the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue and sees the tumult, the confusion, and them that wept and wailed greatly. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, why make ye this ado? And what's all this commotion about? Why are you weeping? The damsel's not dead, but she's sleeping. They're laughed and destroyed. And that offends me, because these are the same people sitting on the edge of their seats saying that if only Jesus could get here, the man couldn't be alright. And now they're laughing at him because, you see, they've passed the point of hope. They've passed the point of death. And that's as far as our faith can reach. And it's offensive. Here's a picture of total confusion and doubt and fear and wailing and weeping. As if Jesus is nothing more than a mourner coming to pay his last respects. They're saying, well, at least he's a decent man. He's here to pay his last respects. And they treat him like he's a mourner. And that's offensive. When you listen to, and you try to get a picture in your mind of these people claiming to have faith until the last breath of the little girl's body reigns. Let me tell you why there's so much confusion and commotion in a lot of your lives tonight. Listen closely now. There's a lot of confusion. There's a lot of people. You can come to some Christians and they sit and listen to us preach. They'll hear Bob, they'll hear Don, they'll hear me. They'll hear message after message. And for a while they're on top of the world. And you think they have finally arrived at a place of faith and God's doing the impossible. You see, when they say, hey, they are absolutely down in the dumps as if Jesus died. But there is no hope. And you know why that confusion? It's because we do not believe that Jesus can resurrect what is dead. We don't believe Jesus knows what he's doing. We believe that he's been too late. And that all hope is gone. And we can't believe Jesus is still at work at something we've already buried. You buried your husband, he didn't. You buried your wife, he didn't. You buried that child, he didn't. He doesn't give up on the dead. Because he's never been greater than he is right now. Hallelujah. He's never been greater. They laughed him to scorn. And where I stand, I look at these doubting people, I want to scream, what are you laughing at? Why have you given up? Hold on, trust him. Don't you know that he has a plan? That it's not over? That this thing is just beginning? That new life is going to flow? If you only knew who he is. We're just as guilty. We cry out to God in the middle of our trouble. We demand that he answers before it's too late. And then when it doesn't seem to happen, it looks hopeless, then we tremble before the devil and demons. And say, as if, now we've been said so many words, but what we're saying by our lack of faith is that the devil won this round. The devil has my daughter. The devil has my son. And God did not come on time. God allowed my boy, my girl, my marriage, my job, it's all slipping through my fingers. And it's almost as though we sit and chow down, because the devil seems to be in control. And he's not in control. He's never been in control. And while you're sitting there doubting, God already has a plan at work. It's not enough to come to church and worship and sing and praise, if all the faith you have is up to the point of hopelessness. What if Jesus walked into your present situation right now? He walked into your life in the flesh. What would Jesus find if he came to your home tonight? Would you be grieving in his presence like you grieve now? Would you say, Lord, it looks so hopeless. I was about to give up. But I know you're there. Would you be able to say, Jesus, you're the same yesterday, today, and forever? You're still at work today like you were in the Bible in the New Testament. Lord, you can bring life out of this death that's around me. Jesus, you can do the impossible. I'm going to just turn it over to you. I'm going to give you my confidence. I'm going to give you my faith. You see, when he does the miracle, I don't want to be on the outside. I want to be on the inside. And I want to be able to look to Jesus and say, Lord, I believed you through this. I didn't give up. I believed you. And I'll tell you, those who hold on with unswerving faith, they get to go on the inside and get to see the workings of the Holy Spirit. And as he reveals his workings, you get to know him better and trust him better. Look at verse 40. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he put them all out. He put them out. And I'll tell you, that's exactly what the Lord does if you're going to believe. He just puts you on the outside. You're never going to see it. You'll never understand the workings of God. You'll go all through your Christian life not understanding Jesus at all. Not ever been thrilled in his power. Never been surprised or excited. Or astonished. I'll tell you something. When you hold on in faith, when everything looks black and hopeless and dead, and you hold on in unswerving faith, you go in with him. He takes the father and the mother, the damsel, and them that were with him, and enters in where the damsel is lying. Go right into the face of death. Then takes him in as if to say, I don't want anyone out there to know. In fact, he said, he commanded, no man should know it. This is the end of side one. You may now turn the tape over to side two. Christian showing the doubt or anything about his workings. It's the man, the woman of God that holds on by faith in the face of all darkness and hell. And death staring you in the face. Then you say, Jesus, I believe. That father believed and Jesus put them in the room. Peter, James, and John believed and they went in. They were going to see God at work. They were going to see life flowing. I don't want to be on the outside. I want to be on the inside. Hallelujah. This past two weeks, God let me on the inside of something. God gave me faith on a certain situation that looked like death on all sides. And God helped us to hold on. And I'll tell you when he got me so excited. I watched every step, every little movement of the Holy Spirit. I moved here and he moved there. And he let me watch. A telephone call here, a word here. And I saw God putting it all together. And I said, God, you're really something. That is really something. That is something else. The Lord keeps astonishing those who hold on by faith. He begins to show you his glory. And more so, he thrills you. The greatest thrill is to be able to come through resurrection. You pass the point of death. You're still in the glory. You're still in faith. You've never doubted. You've never wavered. You come out the other side. And you say, that's the greatest thrill a Christian can know on earth. You better enjoy it now as long as you don't get in heaven. Because only here can you exercise that kind of faith. Naked faith. There we'll have the fulfillment of it. Here, right now, we have the glory of being able to show our heavenly father we trust him. Now let me give you the best part before I close. I'm going to sum it all up in one simple little verse. In him was life. Hallelujah. Look, that means energizing life. It means that Jesus was possessed of something that kept renewing him. He had a life force in him that kept renewing him day by day. And every time death would come in on any side, he counteracted death by the spirit of life. He drove death out by life. That is what Jesus is all about. He's an energizing power to the Holy Ghost. I'll tell you what, I feel terribly ashamed when I look at the Bible and I see the energizing life that was flowing in Jesus. He had a secret reservoir of resources. He was never depleted. He kept being renewed. He never worried of the crowds that pressed in on him. He was never impatient with his disciples. Even though they were almost hopeless in their teaching, in understanding his teaching. And even when he called his disciples to go away and rest to a quiet place in the wilderness, the word got out and the crowd beat him to it. And they're going to rest and there's the multitude. And Jesus never once said, oh boy, here we go again. Those silly questions, those stupid answers, all those little petty problems. And all of these people pressing in. No, he saw them and there was an energy that began to flow in. And there was a life that began to flow. And a minister, he never worried of ministers until they came at all times. He had something in him. Instead, he sees the multitudes and he's so moved with compassion and he becomes energized by it. Here's a man, a man. Jesus was man. He was God, but he was also man. Days of toil, nights of prayer, sweating and praying. But he even had time for little children. He'd take the little children in his arms. One day he's so tired and he's so weary. And he's hungry and he sits down by a well. And a woman comes along, a very sinful woman. And she's lost and she needs help. And suddenly that energy of the spirit of life begins to flow in him. He's had nothing to eat. And he and his disciples tired, they went out to get some food. They come back and they see Jesus relaxed and full of life. And as though he's just had a big meal. And he says, I've got meat that you don't know anything about. There was an energy, there was a life in him. And that makes me ashamed because I'm more like a drained battery. You leave the lights on too long. And the next day you go and try to turn it over. And I get... And then finally the click of a dead battery. And I have to go and be recharged time and time again. But you see something's wrong in that. Now there's the time for rest. And sometimes the greatest patience is needed to slip away with Jesus. There are times he went away on the mountain. He got alone with his father. But you see, he was always being energized. He was always being renewed. And God been dealing with me. That if I really believe, if we really believe as his people that he is resurrection life. Well listen to what the scripture says. That if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you. He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal body by his spirit that dwells in you. You know, you can go over here to a restaurant and you can order a coke. And stick a straw in it and sit there all day and not get anything out of it until you suck on it. Until you draw it out. He has given us a spirit of life. But we're afraid to draw on it. The very same spirit. There are not two Holy Ghosts. There's one Holy Ghost. The same Holy Ghost that went into that tomb. And breathed life into him. And he walked out energized. Hallelujah. For the spirit of life that he still has and possesses even now. He said that very same spirit shall also quicken or make alive your physical mortal body. Not your spiritual mind only but your physical body. Boy, how clear can it be? The Holy Spirit dwells in us to bring us constant life. The very energy of God. And you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcised citizen of your flesh. Has he made alive together with him. And God because of his great love for us. Even when we were dead in sins. Has made us alive together with Christ. It's the spirit that quickens us. Or makes us alive. The Bible said the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. If Jesus the last Adam abides in us. Then he's a quickening life giving spirit who abides within us. So that thy youth is renewed like the eagles. Titus speaks of the renewing of the Holy Ghost. The renewing of the Holy Ghost. What may occur to me this week. If I didn't begin to draw and if I didn't believe that. I could never make it here in New York City. Never make it. But any moment weariness or death of any kind begins to creep in. That's the time to draw on this life giving spirit. Who's promised to renew us. I don't care how weary you are. I don't care how downcast you are. You have a reservoir of life in you. Why don't you draw on it. Why don't you just tonight as we stand in a moment. Lift up your hands and say Lord I'm going to drink of that life. I'm not going to give in to the spirit of death. The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead has raised me. Has given me life. The devil's a liar. I'm going to hold on. I'm going to make it through all the temptations and the trials of this last day. I'm going through with Jesus. I'm not giving up. Stand please. Will you stand. God give us life tonight. Jesus give us your life. Holy Spirit come and make it real to us so we can draw on that. Lord it's a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that comes and gives us a fresh touch. And daily renews us. Hourly renews us as we depend on you. As our faith reaches out and claims all that you have promised. Lord Jesus there are people here tonight. In this church hearing me right now. Who thought it was hopeless. This seems so black and dark. For the situation of their life. Lord we are evangelists of life. I'm going to say it again. We are evangelists of life. The Lord's called us to go out in the graveyards of our past. And appropriate life. Hallelujah. Glory to God. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. Hallelujah. You don't have to sit in despair. You don't have to allow the enemy to hold you down any longer. There's life. Hallelujah. This past week I was probably in the worst pain I've been in my life. With my colitis problem. And strength is draining out of me. And the Lord says don't you understand that the spirit that abides in you is life. Just draw on it now. By faith draw. Suck it out. Draw it in to your heart. By faith. You've got to believe what he says. Isn't it amazing? It's so simple. Just by faith. Lord Jesus I appropriate it right now. He's been giving me energy shots. Strength. And life. Hallelujah. We're not going to make it in this metropolitan area folks. Without that life giving flow. You're going to tap into that. It has to keep flowing to you every day. What you get yesterday is not good enough. You have to have it. Amen. It's got to flow through the whole choir. To all our workers. And there should not be a time here where we come in defeated by the devil. So we walk in life. We walk in newness of life. Hallelujah. Pray on it Lord Jesus. If this message has touched you in some area in your life. St. Bill Wilkins is a place of death in my past. In my heart. And I want to bring life to it. I want resurrection life applied to this tonight. Get out of your seat up in the balcony here on the main floor. And come here right now. St. Bill Wilkins I want new life in me. New resurrection life to flow in me. You can bring life to that death of sin. That habit whatever it may be. If you're not walking in his righteousness. Whatever it may be. You feel the terror pulled on your spirit. Come on down. You may have to go back in your passion a bit. And do a little digging. And say Lord the situation I gave up on. There's a person I gave up on. It could be a dad and mother relative. Somebody you ever talked to. It looks so dead. That relationship is so dead. Why don't you appropriate the life of Jesus. Resurrection life on that tonight. Please look this way please. If you're going to believe the Lord. Then the grief has to go. The questions have to go. The doubts have to go. All of that. Don't try to figure it out anymore. Lord I'm holding on. I don't know how you do it. I don't care how you do it. I'm going to just trust you. I believe you. I'm going about my life. I'm not burdened down by this. I'm not worried by it. I'm not fretting by it. I'm just turning all over to you Jesus. A simple child like faith. How many of you need healing tonight. Will you raise your hand. Physical healing. Raise your hand. Keep your hand raised. And I want you to claim it right now as we sing. I want you to release your praise to Jesus right now. And I want you to believe him right now for healing. Right where you stand. Without anybody touching you. Alright. Let's sing it. And I want you to believe the Lord as we sing it. You are our hope and our strength. Lord you're going to answer prayer. We're going to have the people believe you. We're going to trust you tonight Jesus with all of our hearts. Give us faith tonight Lord Jesus. Pour faith in our hearts. Now will you sing Lord I believe. Lord I believe. Oh Lord, I believe in your glory I want to know what God is making of us I believe in you I believe in your glory
