G.W. North

George Walter North (1913 - 2003). British evangelist, author, and founder of New Covenant fellowships, born in Bethnal Green, London, England. Converted at 15 during a 1928 tent meeting, he trained at Elim Bible College and began preaching in Kent. Ordained in the Elim Pentecostal Church, he pastored in Kent and Bradford, later leading a revivalist ministry in Liverpool during the 1960s. By 1968, he established house fellowships in England, emphasizing one baptism in the Holy Spirit, detailed in his book One Baptism (1971). North traveled globally, preaching in Malawi, Australia, and the U.S., impacting thousands with his focus on heart purity and New Creation theology. Married with one daughter, Judith Raistrick, who chronicled his life in The Story of G.W. North, he ministered into his 80s. His sermons, available at gwnorth.net, stress spiritual transformation over institutional religion, influencing Pentecostal and charismatic movements worldwide.

Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the preacher emphasizes the need for a generation of men and women who are dedicated to God's purpose and willing to be used as instruments of deliverance in the world. He encourages the listeners to let go of any limiting beliefs and allow God to set them free and send them out to make a difference. The preacher then refers to the Gospel of Luke, specifically chapter 10, where Jesus appoints seventy disciples to go ahead of him and spread his message. He highlights the importance of prayer and rejoicing in the power and authority given by God, rather than focusing solely on the miracles and manifestations. The sermon concludes with the preacher discussing the significance of offering peace to others and the need for deep biblical knowledge in order to effectively share God's word.

I would like you to turn with me to the scriptures, into the gospel according to Luke, and into the 10th chapter. Luke chapter 10, verse 1. After these things the Lord appointed other heavenly also. And sent them to and to, before his face, into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great. But the labourers of you, pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Verse 17, and that seventh he returned, again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan's lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you, notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the Spirit is subject unto you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. In that hour, Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto them. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight, all things are delivered to me of my Father. And no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father, and who the Father is but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see. For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them, and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tempted him. What do you think of that? And Markhew, fool that he was, he tempted him on the matter of having eternal life. Would you believe that some people are such fools as to tempt Jesus Christ when eternal life is in the question? He did not ask a straight question. He deliberately set out to tempt Jesus and trip him up. But he couldn't, of course. And Jesus said, what do you read in the law? Ah, the law hasn't yet been done away with. It won't be done away with till I shed my blood and send the Holy Ghost to establish the new covenant in hearts. So you just keep the law for this interim period. That's right. Praise the Lord. You've seen what the matter with this lawyer was. Jesus was talking about revelation. You will notice he only spoke privately to his disciples in verse 23. Look at your Bibles. He said all this publicly. They heard him saying tremendous things publicly. Not the rest of them. Revelation he's talking about. New revelation. Lots of people like that there. Aren't they? And what a tremendous occasion. I don't want to spend my time on that tonight. But what a tremendous occasion it was. You know the story, don't you? If you turn your Bible back to the preceding chapter. Chapter 9. You will find that the Lord had taken his twelve disciples. That he called apostles. And notice he had a lot more disciples than apostles. You must always bear that in mind. He called these twelve apostles. And he gave them power and authority over all devils. And to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God. And to heal the sick. And as usual. The need. Was greater than the supply. And so in chapter 11. Chapter 10. He appoints another seventy. As well. Wonderful isn't it? And so you see. It was not. Now notice it. Notice it very deeply. That it was not only the apostles that had power. In this world. That's right. You believe your Bible, don't you? That's clear. That's as clear as anything. Mind you. Before he finished. In the end of Mark. He gave it to whoever believed. That's wonderful. That's right. These signs follow them that believe. But wait a moment. We'll stay where we are for tonight. And how glorious it is. The need. The demand. The conditions. Oh. Risen. Many kings. Prophets. Great men. Desire to see the things. That you see. Desire to hear the things. That you have heard. Never been granted to them. What a precious place to be in. Now I am convinced. Mayor. That the tremendous need of our age. Beloved. Is just for such ministries. And such things. As the Lord here. Sets out to us. It's always been the need on the earth. Let's go back into the Old Testament. Just for a moment. Shall we? Turn with me back into Isaiah. And if you're passing Daniel on the way. Which you should be doing. Put your finger in there. Because we're coming there in a moment. And in Isaiah chapter 26. Listen. To these great words. In this great 26th chapter. Half of the first verse. The first part is quoted. Here is the prophet. Crying out. For his nation. That lived in that day. Those hundreds. Thousands of years of death. And this is what he said. Listen. Verse 17. Like a woman with child. That draws near the time. Of her delivery. Is in pain. And cries out in her pain. So have we been. In thy fight. O Lord. We have been with child. He's speaking of his nation. We have been in pain. We have as it were. Brought forth wind. We have not wrought any deliverance. In the earth. What a terrible condemnation. God intended this. Royal nation. To be the nation for deliverance. And they said. We have not wrought any deliverance. We made a big fuss and a shout. We have grown big and made noises. And all that has come out. Has been wind. I wonder sometimes. Whether this is a picture. Of the company of people. That likes to think it spiritual. Israel. People for deliverance. Assuring we are the nation. Aren't we a peculiar people. Aren't we a chosen nation. Aren't we. Deliverance in the earth. Where is it. God help us all. We are having big conferences. And conventions. They just had a terrific one out in Germany. I believe. I don't know. Is it going to be wind. Or is it going to be deliverance. I wonder. As a matter of fact. What is going to be the result of this night meeting. I don't know. Why or how you come. I mean how. In what condition you come. I don't know. What cries away. Down in the deeps of you. I don't know what you pray for. Dream about. You say. Dream about. Yes you should be. You old men. You should be dreaming dreams. You young men. What is your vision. I don't know what you are after. But oh. Beloved. I know this. That in this hour. In which we live. This world is needing. To see a generation. Of men and women rise up. That are God's nation. For deliverance in the earth. Tell me again. It's not an isolated chapter. Thing I've got there for us. I told you to put your finger in Daniel. Let's go to Daniel chapter 6. Shall we. And in the 6th chapter of Daniel. You will know of course. I suppose you've all been from Sunday school. Or to Sunday. And you will know. It's the story of Daniel. In the lion's den. You know. That. They wanted to get rid of Daniel. They wanted to find some excuse. To push Daniel out. And destroy him. So they got the king. To write a decree. Which said that if anybody worshipped any other god. Than the one he said. That was it. He got to be slain. You see. And when Daniel. I like this verse. Now I've got to be careful. As I won't get back to my subject. But in this 10th chapter. This 10th verse of the 6th chapter. When Daniel knew. That the writing was signed. He went into his house. And he didn't crawl under his bed. Oh God. It's terrible. What can we do? Not him. He got down on his knees. And his windows being open. In his chamber towards Jerusalem. He kneeled upon his knees. Three times a day. And prayed. And gave thanks before his God. As he always had done. Hallelujah. Praise the name of the Lord. We were speaking last night. About people who haven't got any bolt holes. Jesus said. I haven't got a hole to go to. Nay. No bolt holes. He was there. As he always had been. It wasn't Phariseeism. Although it's likely Daniel was a Pharisee. By the way. The Pharisee movement was born in this captivity. See what it had degenerated into. By the time Jesus was on the earth. Quite possible Daniel. And the three Hebrew children were Pharisees. Ultra-spiritual men. By the time Jesus came. They become ultra-hypocrites. That's what the package of dying does. That's often the spiritual beginning of the movement. But. Beloved he. He knelt there. And you know what happened. They pounced on him. They went to the king. And. They went and told the king. And in the end of verse 13. They said. Look this man is making his petition three times a day. The king when he heard these words. Was sore displeased with himself. Set his heart on Daniel. Now listen. To deliver him. And laid it till the going down of the sun. To deliver him. Hmm. Couldn't help it. So the king in verse 16. Commanded and they brought Daniel. And cast him into the den of lions. And the king. Spake and said unto Daniel. Thy God. Whom thou service continually. He will deliver thee. Amen. Thank you. He and the king talking like that. Now this is what you see. The expectation in the heart of the outsider. He reasons thus. And you can't. Stop it. Reason thus. He puts two and two together. And makes four. We shall put two and two together. And make one. In the way we talk. But this man didn't. Now listen. Let's go right on. A stone. Was brought and laid upon the mount of the den. And the king sealed it. With his own signet. And with the signet of his lord. That the purpose might not be changed. Concerning Daniel. Amen. I'm glad it wasn't. Because God has got a purpose. Couldn't change that one. Now let's go on. Then the king went to his palace. Past the night fasting. Neither were instruments of music. Brought before him. And his sleep went from him. Then the king arose. Very early in the morning. And went in haste unto the den of land. And when he came to the den. He cried with a lamentable voice. Unto Daniel. And the king spake. And said to Daniel. O Daniel. Son of the living God. Is thy God. Whom thy servant continually. Able to deliver thee. From the lions. Then said Daniel. Unto the king. All king. Live forever. Can't you hear old Paul here. Would God. But not only thou. But all they that live. Here this day. Were all together. Not only all most. But all together. Such as I am. Except the bottom. That's right. There he was. Down in front of the pit. Every man of faith. Has got this same cry in his heart. You can tell him. Don't pity me. Most people. Who are trying to be Christians. Don't need other people to pity them. They are pitying themselves. And he cried unto God. And he cried out. And praised the Lord. He said. O king. Live forever. Is thy God. Whom thou service continually. Able to deliver thee. Don't talk to me about deliverance. If you can't prove deliverance. Give your own life first. Amen. That's a sound preaching. Glory be to the name of the Lord. The outsider isn't a fool. A man out in the world. He can't read them by faith. But there are some things he gets right. He's not always wrong. In fact. There he himself had been quite sure. That he was right. He said thy God will deliver thee. By the time you'd spend a night in misery. He wasn't quite so sure. He said is he? Is he? David said yes. Yes. And this is what he said. Listen. My God. Hath sent his angel. And hath shut the lion's mouth. That's right. But if you read it in Hebrews 11. It will tell you. That Daniel shut the lion's mouth by faith. That's right. That's right. Yes. You've got to get the divine commentary on this. Glory. By faith. Wonderful. He believed. The lion's mouth shut. They couldn't make a whimper. Hallelujah. That's wonderful. Alright. I say I mustn't stop here. I want to get back. But what I want to show you beloved. Was whether it was in the dispersion. Or whether it was in the days. When Israel flourished as a nation. I know. At this time it was. They got divided. And all sorts of things. Don't want to go back into details. It's always been the same. Because if you go back to Abraham's day. It's still the same. God said to the king. He said now go to Abraham. He's a prophet. He'll pray for you and you'll get healed. That's right. It's always been the same. God's people from the beginning of time. Are supposed to have been in this world. And they are yet in this age. By the grace of God. For deliverance. Amen. A nation of deliverance. What a wonderful thing. I don't know how many people there are here tonight. Is it a hundred? I don't know. Might be more. Might be just under. God I want to tell you each one of you listening to me. You listen to the voice of God. That God's great intention for you. Is to so get hold of your life. And so prove himself. And join you to himself. That you'll fall out of all the crippling ideas. That are holding you back. And set you free. And send you out. And make you in your turn a deliverer. In some measure. In this old world of ours. Let's go back then. Into this gospel according to Luke. In the end of that ninth chapter. You remember those of us that were together the other night. We discovered that the Lord. That the Spirit of God. Who inspired this precious book. Places incidents in different relationships. In the differing gospels. And this incident we are going to look at now. We find in a different relationship. In Matthew. Simply because God wanted to teach another lesson. And introduced it there. To add point and purpose to the thing that he was saying. But in this gospel. It's placed preceding the tenth chapter. And here it is. These people are saying. I'll follow you. Shuckle me. Let me go back. Verily my Father first. And so on and so on. Now I say verse 61. Listen. Lord I will follow thee. But let me first go bid them fare well. Which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him. No man having put his hand to the plow. And looking back. Is fit for the kingdom of God. And in the next verse. You'll find him calling the seventy. That's why he eliminated. All these other people. He eliminated them. Oh beloved. He just does not want disciples. For the sake of getting disciples. I tell you each one. As we are here before you all tonight. He wants us. Not just so that he can use us. Beloved. But he wants us. So that he can get through to men. And the call of God tonight. The Lord Jesus Christ is calling you. My brother. My sister. To put your hand to the plow. And look forward. And if those men had put their hands to the plow. And looked forward. They would have looked from the ninth chapter. Into the tenth. And they could have looked forward. Into the world of serenity. Most likely. That God would send forth. To bring deliverance. And salvation to men and women. You got everything to look forward to. And nothing to look back for. When you put your hand to the plow. Blessed be the name of the Lord. For the secret of the plow. For Jesus Christ wanted to plow deep into the kingdom of darkness. Jesus Christ's intention was to plow deep into the needs of men and women. Plow deep into their hearts. And bring them salvation. Put your hand to the plow. And look forward. It doesn't matter about your mother and your father. Or anybody else now. Not when Jesus calls. It doesn't matter whether you've got a good dad or a bad dad. Or a good mum or a bad one. Doesn't make a difference about that. Have a great call God. Everything to look forward to. This is what he said. Listen. He said kings. Prophets. Great men. Would have given their lives to see what you see. Wouldn't it be terrible. If at the end of time when the reckoning's on. You see nothing. And heard nothing. When men and women. Would have given their all to see what these sons saw. Wouldn't you? Well you'll have to. You'll have to give all. And understand. Thank God he will not have half-heartedness. He'd never have had my respect. Let alone my love. If that's all he was asking for. I could have found something better to worship. If my wife divine did more of me than my saviour. I'd worship her in his stead. But thank God she doesn't. And can't. Amen. Now put your hands to the plow now. And go through. Beloved. You have everything to look forward to. Oh I'd like to come and put my arms around you all. And I'd like to pull you right in here. Where Jesus calls. And leading this he said. After these things you see. He appoints the out of certainty. And he sent them to and to. Before his face. Into every city and place. Whither he himself would come. What an honour. Lord can you do that with me. I wonder. Lord if you want me to go to Exeter. Could you send me before your face. Could I be a sort of John Baptist in this new era. Could I. Dare you trust me. Have I really got some tie with my mother yet. Some pull back there in the family. Something that's not cut. Is there something. Someone. Lord can you take me. Tell me Lord. Tell me now. Is my heart ever poor. He said the harvest. Truly. Is great. The labourers that are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest. That he will send forth labourers into his harvest. And people come together and they have prayer meetings. And they praise prayer. But you notice the only people he told to pray. Were the people that were going out and doing it. Not the people that said you go and we'll stay at home. And pray for you. Then they quote those that stay at home. Buy your stuff get as much as those that go out and have fun. It's a marvellous thing how you can engineer scriptures to fit your taste. See it's true it's written in the book. The devil believes it too. He's going to hell doesn't he. Here's the tremendous challenge. He said you go. I send you. And as you go. You pray. My. Who was it that sent out the first twelve and the next seventeen. The one Lord my that was doing it. Whose heart was engaged in it. Whose compassions were stirred within him. Who knelt down on the altar adoring the multitude. Who loved and gave and laid down his life. Long before he got to Calgary. Bless the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for him. There's a great harvest field out here. There's a great harvest field out here. Pray that the Lord will send labourers into his harvest. Glory. He said I don't want to be a labourer. I think I'm called to be an apostle. You've got it wrong now. You've got it wrong. For listen to the chiefest of the apostles. He says I laboured more than you all. That's right. You say oh he earned it then. No he didn't. He didn't earn it. Glory be to the name of the Lord. That's the gift. It makes you like it. It makes you sweat and toil and pray and give. Glory to your bed he tossed it up in the morning and out of the den. Why in my little measure if I may suffer it to suffer. He suffered to say so. I know why it is. While my hostess was stood by the telephone whilst I snatched a bit of food. As he said no you can't have him. You can't have him. Put the phone down. No he's eating his food. Dropped him to bed at one o'clock in the morning. Dragged out before I was awake in the morning to lead another lead. This is the need that's in the world. There's a guy here preaching at this street corner. They need preaching. I'm preaching now. John Wesley they used to pull him off his little horse. Hold him to the saddle. I honor the memory of these men. Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brethren. And God not ashamed to have prepared for them a city. Men who put their hand to a cloud. And have looked, looked back. Have looked forward. And have looked out on the multitude with the compassions of Jesus. I know these were only beginnings. But let's have a look at it. He said go on out you go. I'm sending you out for a lot of wolves. I'm sending you out for a lot of wolves. That's right. And remember you're a lamb. Don't wolf back at them. That's what you're going to. See but this will devour me. This will swallow me up. Yes. Well that's what they thought him down you'll say. Chuck him down a bit. I'll swallow him up. Okay. What a wonderful ministry. What a glorious message behind it. And the Lord is wanting to do this. What a ministry they had. Now let's read down through John. Carry neither purse, nor script, nor shoes. And salute no man by the way. Stop this by the way business. Get it out of your vocabulary. By the way, by the way, by the way. Glory. Let's go on shall we. Either whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. If the Son of Peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it. If not, it shall turn to you again. And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give. For the labourer is worthy of his hire. Doesn't necessarily mean he's got to take twenty-five pounds a week out of somebody. To stay in their hire camp. He was the food they got. And the water they drank. Or the wine, whatever it was. Marvellous how we like to make Scripture mean what we think it is. I can remember Gypsy Smith. How many of us can remember Gypsy Smith's video, Give Your Age Away? I remember Gypsy Smith. And how one day he was in a great meeting in London. And it came to be time for taking up the offering. I don't know if I quite agree with all that he did. But never mind, that's got to do with me. To his own master he stands or falls. Nothing to do with me. Only do with me what T.L. Osborne does. To his own master he stands or falls. Let everybody else keep their noses up. Who am I to criticise another man's servant? And, and, and, and, in the front row it was collection time. And I don't know whether he was a bit impatient. He got hold of one of the bags and he started to run his arms. In front of him there was a woman sitting there in a wonderful fur coat. Rings all over her fingers and one thing and another. And she put her hand in her purse. And I think she put in a sixpence. And she said, the widow's mites. He was just passing and he went back and he said, the widow put in two mites. Yeah, but see, see how she interpreted it. That's what you talk about, the widow's mites, don't you? Now you read the Bible. You read your Bible. You read what it says, not what you think it says. Most people just read what they think the Bible says. Very few people read what it says. Now you young people take this deeply into your heart. Be independent enough to read what the Bible says. You will be held accountable for believing that. The simple truth upon the sacred path. You haven't necessarily got to believe some daunted hind-leg interpretation. Now understand, you see. And he said, don't go from house to house. That will breed tittle-tattle and back-chatter. Into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you, and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, the kingdom of God is come now unto you. They weren't in it because they'd got healed. Now understand, but into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, even the very dust of your city we do wipe off against you, notwithstanding, be sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come now unto you. I say unto you that it should be more tolerable in that day for sovereign than for that city. Sixteen. He that heareth you, heareth me. What a privilege. He that despises you, despises me. He that despises me, despises him that sent me. And then we come on to the verse that introduced our reading. They came back. They came back. What a gloriousness. He said, Lord, Lord, even the devils are subject to us in thy name. Oh, he said, don't rejoice in that. He said, but wait a moment. He said, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents, scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. But notwithstanding, in this rejoice not, that the spirits of satan to you, but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Now I suggest to you that most of us are very disobedient. If we hear of somebody getting a devil cast out of them, we say, glory, glory, glory, glory. And the devil said, don't do it. Why do we shout and rave and make such a dine? Well, we want to make a mountain out of this molehill. That's what we want to do. The Lord said, don't rejoice, because the demons are subject unto you. But what's that, that small enough fry? Hallelujah. Rejoicing this, that your names are written in heaven. Why? Because it was an entitlement to the life of the Son. It was an entitlement to the baptism in the Holy Ghost. It was an entitlement to man within greater power yet. What a tremendous thing. Oh, glory. But do you know what he said? Oh, he said, I thank you, Father. He said, I thank you, Father. Lord of heaven and earth, you fit these things to the vise of the providence. What? Why did he rejoice? Listen. He said, when they came back saying this, he said, Now listen. I want you people to know that I beheld Satan as likely fall from heaven. And when he fell, boy, did he fall. He's fallen down upon this earth. He's fallen down upon this whole human race. He's brought misery, despair, darkness. He's trained demon power. He's lost his manners, his sickness. His whole hair. He's brought it down here. He's brought it down here. And I want you people to know that he's one of your mankind. And I'm sending you out to work out in your generation. Working out the victory which I know, I saw. I cast him out of heaven. Now you want to cast him out of men. That's the spastic thing. Oh, I'm made of cheap material. I touch life with it. Glory be to God. This animal of mankind. He comes down upon the homes of the land. There's fighting there. No wonder that international warfare takes place in their own homes. How can you stop the world warring when homes are fighting? When hearts are fighting. There they were. Jesus looked out over the multitude. He looked upon them as the great reaper, a harvest to be gathered. They're wolves. Yes, you know how they're wolves. They've got the spirit of wolves in them. Scorpions in them they've got. Spirits of scorpions. Spirits of serpents. You say, what do you mean? Well, I don't stop now. I've been going long enough already, but I'm nowhere near through. I hope you don't want to be home by nine o'clock. If you do, good night. We are going to carry on. Beloved. I'll tell you one, just one. One person recently. Oh, talk about serpents inside us. Oh, I won't. The details are too, too terrible. But the Lord delivers. Glory be to the name of the Lord. These things, and this is what the devil's brought on the human race. This is why a drug addict is rightly named when he's called a viper in America. Praise the name of the Lord. Jesus sent them out. Go on, he said. This is why we're going through. Father, thank you. You've revealed it under these men. Glory. I've known it all through. Father. Father. Let me ask you, is it hidden from you? Because if it's hidden from you, perhaps you're too wise to know. And too prudent to enter into this warfare. Too prudent to become involved. Too prudent to put your hands in this crowd. I tell you, when you plow down under the surface of your village, your town, your city, your whole, your own family. You plow down under there and you'll find them living under the sign Scorpio. Lots of people. I'll say no more. I'm not here to advertise that. And it's there. And this is what we're called to. Praise the name of the Lord. Ah, and there are these hoes, you see. And he said, when you go there, the first thing to say is this. Peace be to this house. Glory. Peace be to this house. You know, this afternoon, quite unexpectedly. Don't run, Mother, it's all right. Praise God. Hope you're not upset by a baby singing. Outside our house, a band grew up and Brother Gordon Edmonds got out. I said, well, I thought you were in Portugal, Brother. Of course, and you know, wanted to show his arms around this first sight. And so on. And then he said, do you know what they say out in Portugal, Brother? I said, no. They say to one another, the peace of the Lord be with you. Glory. That's wonderful. You know, I said, well, perhaps I might be preaching about that tonight. I'm never quite sure that I stand up most often. But I am going to preach about it. But, but, but I've been browsing. You see, that's what you've got to do. You young men, you want to be preachers. Now you take it. You've got to soak and saturate and browse in this Bible so that God can ask you to speak in Genesis or Revelation or Daniel or Luke or wherever you want on the spur of the minute. It's not preparation of the message, it's preparation of the messenger. Now understand. And get that in your heart. But anyway, we're going on. And, and, and this is what the Lord Jesus said. He said, please, you're to say, peace be unto this house. And if the Son of Peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it. Now I'm going to ask you a question. If what you've got inside you rested on a house, would it be peace? Do you think that the Lord Jesus is bandying about in words, you know? Sort of, um, imputed peace or something like this. We, we work this imputed word. I don't know how hard we work it. You know. He said, your peace. What, going out to the walls in peace? Yeah. The Lord Jesus went out in the halls of Bashan and the halls of the unicorns and the mouths of the lions. Just before he went, he said, my peace I give to you. Oh, blessed be the name of the Lord. Would you have had a scrap of peace if you'd have been facing that within 24 hours? Bearing the sin of the world and the wrath of God? What? Peace be to this house. And if the Son of Peace be there, I'm not bothering about what that means in that day. But I know what it means now. For the Son of Peace is Jesus. Glory. If he's there, the peace goes past. It'll stop there. Glory. Glory. Glory. Glory. Glory. If it's not there, you can't give it away. And you don't lose it, it comes back. Why? Lovely. Jesus looks down through the rooms and into the windows and into the rooms of the houses in the city of Exeter. His heart bleeds for the warfare. Oh, God. The turmoil in human hearts. Now I know it's necessary, first of all, to preach peace with God for our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherever we go. But some of us stop there. We think this is the gospel. He said, listen, heal the sick. Heal the sick. In the house. Tell them that the kingdom of God comes. Give them a light in the darkness. Give them some hope. Hung by the hands of hell. And driven and torn by all sins of sin. Out of the enemy of their souls. Tell them there's one who cares. Tell them there's one who reigns over the affairs of men. Tell them there's another kingdom. That they curse not the day that they were born. Tell them. Go and tell them. And say, I can't hear what you're saying. Look at my knee. My little daughter lies atone. Grievously tormented of a demon. How do you expect me to listen to peace, peace, peace? My heart bleeds with awe. Heal the sick. It's the devil's work. It's the work of the enemy of mankind. Heal them. And even if they won't listen to you. Never mind. Tell them whatever happens. That the kingdom of God has drawn nigh. Answer them. That's right. When you see people healed, you'll probably see some healed in this meeting tonight. Know that the kingdom of God is right at your door. But listen, you won't get in even if you get healed. You've got to be born again to get into the kingdom of God. Do you understand? Do you understand? You must be born again. You can, you can press into the kingdom of heaven and get healed. But you've got to be born again to get into the kingdom of God. That's the difference. Lord of heaven and earth. See? That's right. I'll give you some inkling about these things in the scripture. Can't stop on it now. Oh, it's there. It's so that people say, isn't God good to us? You know, like the man that went home and found his servant was healed, and himself believed in all his household. Isn't God good to us? What do I do now? What is the goodness of God to lead me to repentance? It says so in the Bible. Hallelujah. Then I can repent of my sin. And the life I've been living. And that I've given my life over to the devil, even though I know he rents and tears me. Because my lusts bind me to him. See? And I repent of it all, Lord. Give me a new heart, new life, new state. Make me all over again. Glory, glory, glory, glory. Hallelujah. Oh, wonderful, beloved. Do you see this? That the Lord is wanting to do. Can you see it? He that heareth you, heareth me. He that despiseth you, despiseth me. Listen. All things are delivered unto me by my Father. Listen. No man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father. And whom the Father is, but the Son. And he to whom the Son will reveal him. Tell me now. Do you know who the Son is? Do you know who the Son is? Do you know who he is? Tell me now who the Son is. Say, oh, well, don't ask us this question. Jesus, of course. That's right. I'll tell you. Listen. He's the Lord of the house. He's the healer of the sick. He's the deliverer of the devil bound. He's the compassionate King. Glory. He's the man of power and love and love. The Son. Do you know who he is? That's right. He's the one that's come to lead you to the Father. Do you know who the Father is? Yes. He's the one that's got to give you birth. You've got to get born into this family. Oh, hallelujah. Has he got a father heart, this God? Does he care that I've wept over my pains and sores and heartbreaks? Does he care? They cry out there. The multitudes, they cry out there. Like that demon there, up on the mountains, crying, cutting himself all night. This life has heard the storm. Jesus heard that man. He went to sleep to bypass the storm. He'd get to the man all right. You see, beloved, Jesus cares, but people don't believe he does. So they're in the pictures tonight, and they're in the dance halls. They're trying to get a little alleviation in their suffering, in their misery. But if they really knew how Jesus cares, well, how are they going to know? If you do. They'll only know if you do. They don't know who the Son is. Come on. Peter, John, Mary. Although I notice the only sent men. I'd like to tell you something. That in this great realm of deliverance, it's a man's job, and understand it, you sisters. I'm not saying that some sisters can't do something in this realm. But usually speaking, it's a man. And I'll tell you why in this matter. Because the principle that inheres in Scripture stands true. That the woman was deceived. See? And women are far more easily deceived than men. Men are able to stand aside and make a judgment where a woman gets involved. And understand it. And he called these men. And he sent them out. On what wonderful things he wrought, they wrought. And they began to understand who Jesus was. Who Jesus was. Hallelujah. Lord, I'm going to be honest with you, Lord. I know if I'm not honest with you, I'll get nowhere. Can you save me, Lord? I can preach, you say. I'll go. I'll go and preach. Now listen. I tell you the truth. In these days, more and more, I find wending my way to a place up in the north of England. Where I sometimes am. I find an increasing people, a number of missionaries coming back from the field. Coming back from the field. They've been out there preaching five years, ten years. They come back, they say, they're broken. They're depressed. No fruit. Or very little. And they come and they say, I hear about what's happening. Do you think the Lord has given me this thing? That's right. Yes. One little lady comes back from India. I warn you if you're interested in India, it's the worst place on earth to go if you're not filled up with the Holy Ghost. I have more missionaries who've come back broken from India than any other place on this earth. Little lady from India, she sits and sits down. They send her home. She's broken down under the spray. She's been out there working. They send her home to see a psychiatrist. But she said, I heard certain things and I've come to see you. Do you think I need to go to a psychiatrist? I've got the girl on the side who won't accept me and I've got a certificate from the psychiatrist. It's all right, you can go to a psychiatrist. You'll get your certificate, that's all right. What do you need? And she opens her heart. Yes, same story. All right. Just sit down. And all in five minutes she was delivered. In five more she was filled with the Holy Spirit. She went and saw the psychiatrist. He wrote down, I think the best thing that could happen to this woman is to go back to England. Yes. They were thinking he was going to say the best thing that could happen to this woman is to stop in England in a nursing home. That's right. I'll tell you the truth. And this is the sort of thing that happened. I get a letter from her rejoicing in the Lord, moving out in the midst. Now this is the thing, darling. You are not equipped to meet the call and pressures of the age unless you can move in this power of God. The hour is too late. The devil has gained too strong a hold. It's our fault, we've let it. But if you put your hand to the fire and if you give up your rights, your life, your all to Jesus the Lord will take you up. The Lord will fill you with himself. Oh, glory to his wonderful name. The Lord will pour his revelation into your heart. I never knew such revelation as God poured into me from about the time when he filled me with his Spirit. Glory, glory, glory. The unending stream of constant revelations from his heart. You've got to have them to know what this book is talking about. You've got to have them to know what it means. You are not equipped with as much training you have, or anything unless the Lord has called you forth in this great call of God. And you see the magnitude out there. Oh, beloved. My dear brother Percival, I've come to love with him two, three days, never known him before. We were talking at dinner. And he says the same story. He says, brother, they come to me from the Midlands. They come from London. Yeah, they come from Scotland to me. They come from everywhere. Send your fare. Please, Mr. Dorff, fly down. We'll pay your fare if you'll only fly down. So and so is bound. It ought to be on the street corner. There's something wrong. This isn't a specialized ministry. Except it is a specialized ministry for everybody. This is normal. He said, I give you power over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means hurt you. And so he takes the devil's cheap weapon right out of his hands. Fear. Intimidation. If I was to ask my brother Percival, I don't know. I haven't asked him. We haven't collaborated. But I'll guarantee the devil's threatened to kill him with cancer. Is that right? Huh? Yeah, that's right. The devil's threatened to kill me with cancer. Of course. This is the sort of thing he does to try and frighten you. Don't matter about that. What's that got to do with it? Fear. The whole church is bound by fear. I remember one day, I went into a house in Bradford, where I was privileged to minister for so many years. Not to tell you a lot of details, because this is just a matter that the family as well had got dealt with. But this was the morrow. When I went in, I couldn't get in. The place was locked, barred, shuttered. Couldn't get near the place. One turn, the police had to break in. But anyway, she recognized her daughter's voice. So in we go. Shall lock the door. Inside, sitting. Sitting in a chair. In a rocking chair. In a wheelchair. Nothing on but an overcoat. A fireless grate. Moldy bread everywhere. A stink and stench of death upon flame. Communion with evil spirits in the dark. And I went up to her. And I put my hand on her head. Electricity went through my arm. It felt like anyway. But I found out after it was going outwards and not coming in. That was wonderful. They'd say you shouldn't touch a demon-possessed person, but you needn't take any notice. They're always getting something. People don't know. See. And then this demon said. This demon said to her. The man that's got his hand on you is a holy man of God. He tried flashing. See. And then when that didn't work, he said. He said this right out in the kitchen. He said. If you don't conform to the rule, he turned to threatening. If you don't conform to the rule, he said. I'll put you on your back. And I laughed at him. But the scripture said. The daughter of Zion has laughed you to scorn. Glory. The virgin daughter of Zion can laugh anything to scorn. Praise the name of the Lord. Doesn't matter about that old Rad Shatters and all these people. They've got nothing in this. You see. But that's what the devil does. To hold you back. And shall fear bind your servile spirit? Fear doth servile spirit bind. Jesus is a noble mind, sings Charles Wesley. Amen. And here's what he puts in you. A great compassion. For the lost. For the outsider. For the suffering. The people in need. And I want to tell you tonight, beloved. That God will meet your need. He sends people out. We're here to be deliverance. The whole nation of us. We've all got our heart to bear. It's got to be done. Oh Lord. Lord. Wouldn't it be wonderful. If tonight, Lord Jesus, I could only feel and know that in heaven you're rejoicing. Rejoice. Because of this revelation unto me. Reveal to me that this devil's an old boaster and a liar. And what's more, he's a conceited liar. Glory. And look at that revelation. It's the kingdom of God against the kingdom of darkness. Who's quitting? Glory. Glory to God. I could make my heart of Jesus rejoice. I know it's wonderful that they rejoice in heaven when a prodigal returns. But oh, beloved, I believe God wants more rejoicing than that. Father, that you've revealed it. I love and despise. I've sent them out. Seventy poor nomenclatures. They don't even enter into the qualification of being called Peter, James, John, Taddeus, Levius. They aren't even apostles. Damn it. Come on, you young people. You older ones, too. What are you going to do with your life? What are you going to do with your life? If I gave you an invitation of the Lord Jesus Christ to come and kneel around here tonight and commit your life to God, that you may be committed to the law that God should give you his power from on high, that you would move out amongst people, would you come? Would you come? Oh, well, uh, Mother. Oh, go home. Go home. Go home. You've got to put your hand to the fire. Keep it there. See? Well, uh, you see, they have a scene. They climbed the steepest ascent to heaven through sorrow, toil, and pain. Oh, God, to me, may grace be given to following their train. They taught me that, the scene, when I went to see it. Perhaps it found enlargement in my heart. Come on. I call you in Jesus' name. You young people. Come and give yourself to the Lord. Let's pray. You older people. You people with needs and sickness. Internal troubles. Troubles of the mind or of the body. Glory to God. You tell Jesus now what you're going to do. I know you may tell me these men didn't volunteer. They were called. I'm trusting you've heard the call. Life will its way before thee lies. The plow is going on. Hallelujah. Jesus, thou knowest these young people. Thou knowest these others. All of us here in this room tonight, Lord. What wilt thou do with our lives, Lord Jesus? Thou art the King. They don't know who thou art, Lord, these people. But thou art the Lord of the hearts. Are there labourers here tonight, Lord Jesus? Too many of us have laboured away at the old orthodox methods. Lord Jesus, give us, we pray thee, to labour in the first works. Let second works be our winding sheet. Lord, move us. God bless you, my sister. If you're coming, you come now. The Lord knows your need. If you've heard his call, you come and you there.
