My dear friends, I believe with all my heart that we are living in the last days. Not simply the last days, but I believe we're living in the last minutes of the last day. I believe, friend, this world we live in is about to end. I believe this life that we are living is about to be over. I read my Bible, I study the Bible at the end times, and I believe, friend, that God has laid out a pattern that things we can look for, and I believe with all my heart that Christ is going to return in my lifetime. I really believe that Jesus Christ could come back at any moment. I believe with all my heart, friend, there is absolutely nothing holding Jesus back except the sovereign will of God. I believe every sign has been fulfilled. I think everything has been done. I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is coming soon. I believe He could come tonight before this service is over. The Bible says Jesus Christ is coming again. My friend, that is a major teaching of the Bible. The Bible says the same Jesus that walked on the shores of Galilee, He's coming back. The same Jesus that touched blind eyes and made them see, He's coming back. The same Jesus that touched deaf ears and made them hear, He's coming back. The same Jesus that raised old Lazarus from the dead, He's coming back. The same Jesus that was born in a manger, died on the cross for the sins of the world, was buried in a tomb, and three days later God raised Him from the dead. That very same Jesus is about to come back to planet earth. And the Bible says you need to be ready for that day. The Bible says when Christ comes back, He'll come back suddenly, quietly, quickly, unexpectedly. The Bible says no man knows the day nor the hour when He's going to return, so you need to be prepared as if He were going to return tonight. The Bible says when Jesus Christ comes back, He'll come back visibly. He'll be seen by those who trust Him. It'll be a personal return. That is, it'll be Christ, not an angel, not an emissary. It'll be Jesus Christ Himself. It will be a sudden return. It will be a glorious return. It will be a return that is in two parts. The first part we call the rapture. On that first part of His return, Jesus will come out of heaven, but He'll stop in the clouds. From the clouds, He'll give a shout. The trumpet of God will sound. The voice of the archangel will be heard, and every Christian that's ever lived will leave planet earth, and they'll meet Jesus in the clouds. That's the rapture. That's what we're waiting on right now. After all the Christians are taken out and the Christians meet Jesus in the air, the Bible teaches that Jesus with the Christians will then turn and go back into heaven sometime later. Jesus and all the Christians will come out of heaven again. That second part of His coming is called the revelation. This time, though, Jesus won't stop in the clouds. He'll come all the way down to planet earth. He'll set His feet at the Mount of Olives. He'll set up His kingdom to rule and reign for a thousand years. That's the return of Christ in two parts. The first part, He comes for those who have trusted Him, and then He comes that second time to judge against those who have not trusted Him. And, my friend, when Christ comes back in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, it's going to be for every born-again believer who has repented and given their life to Him and been born again by the Holy Spirit. And, my friend, if you have not repented, if you have not been born again, when Jesus comes back and gives that shout, you'll be left sitting right where you are. My friend, you need to understand that the only people who are going to heaven will not be Baptists or Methodists or Catholics or Episcopalians. It will be only those who have done what the Bible says to do, and that is to repent, turn away from their sin, surrender their life to the Lord Jesus, and are converted by the Holy Spirit. This is such an important event. My friend, you need to examine your heart, examine your life, examine what you've done with Christ, because I'm telling you, Jesus is coming back soon. It will be the most important moment of your life, and you need to be ready. In fact, the disciples saw how important it was. The disciples knew that Jesus Christ was coming back, and they knew that it was an important time, a vital time, and they wanted to be ready for the day when Jesus would come back. And they said, Lord, what is the sign of Your coming? Lord, what's something we can look for so that we can know that You're coming back? Lord, what is the sign of the end of the world? My friend, I want to tell you, Jesus said several things. He said, first of all, there'll be wars and rumors of wars. We see that all across America. There are more wars going on around the world right now at this very moment than have ever gone on in the history of the world. Do you understand that there's more fighting, there's more killing, there's more bloodshed right now than we've ever had in the history of the world? And Jesus said there'll be wars and rumors of wars, but don't worry about that. He said that's not the end yet. And then He says that people will actually begin to hate God. They'll turn away from the things of God. There'll be a great apostasy, and people who claim to know God will start living against God. There'll be an abundance of sin. Sin will be rampant. It will be accepted. What men called good will be now called bad, and what was once called bad will now be called good. But Jesus Christ said, Listen. Here's the sign to look for. When you see this, you can know that I'm about ready to come back to planet earth. He tells us in verse 14. He says, The gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all the world for a witness and to all nations, listen now, and then shall the end come. My friend, I want to share with you three things you can look for before Jesus will come back, and I believe with all my heart these three things have been done already. I believe there's absolutely nothing holding Jesus back. But when you look around and you see right now, the first thing you need to see is an emphasis on the gospel of Jesus Christ. My friend, the number one thing you can see as a sign of the return of Jesus Christ is a dynamic emphasis on the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And I'm telling you, we live in a day where preaching is really catching on fire. As I stand to you right now, there are revivals breaking out all across America where folks are having hundreds and thousands of people saved. I'm telling you there's an emphasis on the gospel where Christ is lifted up, where the word of God is lifted up, and where men are drawn to salvation. I'm telling you when you see an emphasis on the gospel, you can see that's a sign that Jesus is about ready to come back to planet earth. And I'll tell you what, friend, we live in a day when Jesus needs to come back. We live in a day, friend, because there is wicked, rebellious sin everywhere. We live in a day where we have more scientific technology, more computers, more knowledge than we've ever had before, and yet for every ounce of knowledge we get, we get more sin and rebellion against God. We live in a day, friends, where we are becoming more educated, more sophisticated, more wrapped up in technology, but every time we get a little smarter, we get a little more rebellious against God. I'm telling you, friend, when I got saved and called to preach in 1985, I began to read my Bible, and I began to study the word of God. And I began to read about Sodom and Gomorrah, and I read about how Olaf there got wrapped up with all those homosexuals and how the angels came to rescue him, and the homosexuals even tried to get the angels to have a homosexual affair. And I read my Bible, and I thought to myself, how in the world could a people accept homosexuality like that as a way of life? How in the world could they be so rebellious against God? And here I am 13 years later, and I see the very same thing right here in the United States of America. I see men in rebellion against God. They are practicing homosexuality, which God says is a wicked, reprobate sin. And I'm telling you, sin is abounding in America, and the gospel needs to be preached. You know why? Because the gospel is the only thing that can change a man's life. My friend, I want to tell you, you can go out there and you can set up government programs. You can spend money, you're blue in the face. You'll never change a man until you change his heart. You can go out there and have all the programs. You can educate them. You can give them a college degree, a PhD. But I'm telling you, the Bible says the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. And until you change a man's heart, you'll never change America. You'll never change the world until the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached around the world. You see, the gospel is the power of salvation. The gospel is the power of God. The gospel is the only thing that can change a man's life. And there's an emphasis of the gospel going right now because you know what? We've got to the point where many of us are just sick and tired of being sick and tired. We're just weary of all the nonsense out of Washington, D.C. We're fed up with that lukewarm preaching. We're fed up with all the compromising. We're fed up with all the things that goes under the format of religion. And what we want is the Word of God to be proclaimed. We want men to stand up unashamed and unafraid. We want the gospel to be preached again. I'm telling you, in South Africa, several years ago, there was tremendous warfare going on. And I'm telling you, it was wicked. They had several men, terrorists, would come in from out of the country and they were killing people and maiming people with guns and bombs and machetes. They were wicked, rebellious men just killing with no regard for human life. You saw much of it on television. I mean literally hundreds and thousands of people being killed over there in Africa. But there was a man named Harold Peasley. He went over there to Africa and he set up a school for preachers. And he began to win some of those terrorists to the Lord. And some of those men really got born again by the Spirit of God and they became preachers. And you know what God did? He took those old sorry, bloodthirsty terrorists. He turned them into fearless preachers and they began to evangelize the world. And I'm telling you, if God can take an old wicked man who will kill innocently and turn his life around, he can turn America around, friend. Harold Peasley told about these young preacher boys. They've got these young men who have spent all of their lives murdering people. They got saved and got on fire for God. Man, they became dynamic preachers. They were afraid of nobody. They began to win people to Christ. He told the story how they were out ministering out there in the bush country. And they came upon a woman. They brought a woman to be ministered to. She had been bewitched by a witch doctor. She was crippled. I mean she was so afflicted she was almost not even a human being anymore. I mean she was paralyzed from the waist down. I mean she had contracted AIDS. She'd been abused physically and sexually and emotionally. And finally after she'd been used up, she'd been thrown in the ditch and left to die, her and her three children. But one of those young preacher boys that was a former terrorist, he took that woman in and he began to minister to her with the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. And it began to work in her life. And after two weeks of prayer and fasting, when the missionary came, he saw this woman who just a few weeks before could not even talk, could barely see. I mean it was almost a dead woman. She began to smile. She began to move because the power of God had changed her life. And I'm telling you that's what we need today. Son, we don't need any more textbooks. We don't need any more intellectuals. What we need is the power of the living God to be spread around the world. We need an emphasis of the gospel today. And I will tell you what you'll see, number one, when you see Jesus Christ right before he returns, you will see, number one, an emphasis on the gospel because that's the condition the world's in. It is so wicked and so against God that there's absolutely nothing that can turn it around except the gospel of Jesus Christ. You see, Jesus is the center of the gospel. He's the dynamic personality of the gospel. And we live in a day, I find it very interesting, when Christ comes back with his dynamic personality that we are a society that has been raised to really look toward personalities and charisma. I mean, a man today in America, he can be the sorriest, most wicked, reprobate in the world, but if he's good-looking and charming and charismatic and can go on television, we'll put him on the cover of Time magazine. We'll give him the Nobel Peace Prize because we are so impressed with personality and charisma. But I'm telling you, there's one coming, buddy, who has personality, who has charisma. He is the center of the gospel. It is Jesus Christ, and there will be an emphasis, an abundant emphasis on the gospel. And I'm telling you, in the 13 years that I've been preaching, I have seen in the last couple of years more preaching of the real gospel than I've seen the entire rest of my ministry. I'm seeing men take up the Bible, boy, just fire those fiery darts straight from the Word of God. I've seen more gospel preaching going on in the last two years than I saw the first 10 years of my ministry because men have come to the point, they understand that the Word of God is the only thing that has power to change a man's life. An emphasis on the gospel. But number two, there will be an expansion of the gospel. Friend, I want to tell you, I don't know how much you keep up with religious things spreading the gospel around the world, but there have been for many years many countries around the world where you could not get the gospel in. There have been many countries around the world that have been closed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Iron Curtain, the Bamboo Curtain, many godless and atheistic regimes have not allowed the gospel to come in, but I'm telling you, starting in 1990, I'm telling you, the doors around the world have opened and there is not a country in the world today that has not had the gospel shared with it. I'm telling you, the gospel has expanded around the world. Why? Beginning in 1990, God began doing a supernatural work. It started a few years ago with a man by the name of Dick Eastman. Dick Eastman had a school called the Change the World School of Prayer. One night, Dick Eastman was lying in bed and he had a vision from the Lord. The Lord woke him up with a burden to pray for the world. So Dick Eastman got up and he began to pray for the world. Oh God, help the world. And God laid on his heart and said, Dick, I want you to get up and I want you to go pray for the Berlin Wall. I want you to lay your hands on the Berlin Wall and pray that it would come down. And so Dick Eastman got up and he told his wife, God, I'm going to Berlin. I'm going to lay my hands on the Berlin Wall. I'm going to pray for God to take it down. It took him three weeks to get ready, packing all of his things up. Finally, he flew over there. Now, it's one thing to be in America and say, I'm going to lay my hands on the Berlin Wall, but when you get over there, it's something quite different, friend. He got over there and the soldiers stopped him and said, What are you going to do? He said, I'm going to lay my hands on the Berlin Wall and I'm going to pray for it to fall down. He said, God has sent me here. He went and he began to look for a place to pray. He finally picked out a place for no apparent reason other than it just seemed to be the right place for him to pray. It had a plaque on the side of the wall. It was a plaque recognizing the first man killed trying to escape over the Berlin Wall. Dick Eastman began to look at that picture and read the information and he noticed that he and that man had been born on the same day. And the day this man was killed was the day that he had entered seminary to study to be a preacher. And so he prayed. And he laid his hands on that wall. God, let the wall come down. Let the wall come down. God, tear the wall down. When he got through praying, the wall did not fall at his feet. But two years later, he was watching on television in amazement as those East German students stood on the wall and began to dismantle that wall. He called his wife and he said, Look, look, they're tearing the wall down exactly at the point I prayed at. Do you really think men can do like that? I'm telling you, it's the power of the living God. There is an expansion of the gospel. I'm telling you, in these last, final, climactic moments before King Jesus comes back, there's going to be an expansion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. But then finally, there'll be an exaltation of the gospel. Not only an emphasis, not only an expansion, but an exaltation of the gospel. And I'll tell you why. There is a God in heaven who is alive. And this God in heaven will not allow ungodly, atheistic men to control the outcome of mankind. And the living God of heaven is going to take charge here in the last days. We're going to see an exaltation of the gospel. We're going to see Jesus high and lifted up. And every man, every woman, every boy, every girl, every teenager in the world will have to make a choice. They will either come to Christ and bend their knee and accept Him as Lord and Savior, or they will follow after the devil. There will be no straddling the fence anymore. When Christ is lifted up, He will draw men to Him. But I'm telling you, those that reject Christ will be doomed and damned to a devil's hell. There will be an exaltation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I think about Afghanistan. Afghanistan was the hardest country in the world to try to get the gospel into. It was the toughest place. They didn't want to have anything to do with the gospel, but you know how God got the gospel to Afghanistan? Several years ago, you remember the story how the Russians invaded Afghanistan, remember that? And the men who went to Afghanistan, well, Russian soldiers, but what kind of Russian soldiers? Well, let me tell you the story about that, friend. You see, they have a group of Christians over in Russia, and they are hated by the military leaders. So what these military leaders did, they took these Christian soldiers and sent them to a place that nobody else wanted to go. They sent them to Afghanistan, and these Christian soldiers began to win some of these Afghans to Christ. And when the Russians, when they pulled them back to Russia, there were many Christian Bible clubs left in Afghanistan. God got the gospel there through the Russian army. I'm telling you, sir, when God wants to do something, He'll do it with or without your help. There will be an exaltation of the gospel. I told you a story, it seems like a lifetime ago, but it was a few weeks ago, and I want to tell you again because it makes the point I'm trying to make tonight about the power of the living God. You see, there are many of you here tonight, you know about Jesus, but you don't know Him personally. You've got a head knowledge, but you don't have a heart knowledge. You pray, but your prayers never go past the ceiling. You wonder why you're defeated and you're discouraged. You wonder why you can't win your loved ones to Christ because you don't have the power of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because you've never truly given your life to Christ and been born again. It's the story about the Irish Republican Army. You know, there's a lot of fighting over there in Belfast and a lot of fighting between the Protestants and the Catholics. It's really deeper than that, but that's what they use as an excuse. But just a few years ago, because some Protestants had killed some Catholics, a guy from the IRA was sent down to the lower part of the country there to commit an atrocity. He was sent down to this little farm and he was given instructions, you're to go down there and you're to retaliate. You're to retaliate and kill some Protestants. You're to go down there, you're to go to this farmhouse, you're to kill the man, kill his wife, kill his son. So the terrorist went down, took his shotgun with him. He got to the house, he waited in the driveway. At five o'clock, the family drove up. He took his shotgun out, he blew the head off the father, he blew the head off the son, then he made his getaway. What he did not know was that the family was a wonderful Christian family, so the funeral, though it was sad, was also triumphant. When the man got back to his headquarters there in Belfast, they asked him, did you kill all three? He said, no, I just killed two. I killed a man and I killed a son. They said, go back and kill the woman. He said, it's dangerous to go back. They said, go back and kill the woman. So two weeks later, he went back to get the woman. He went back on a Wednesday evening. He got there about 7.30, but as was her custom at 7 o'clock, she went to a prayer meeting and a Bible study. So he broke into her house, he went into her bedroom. He crawled under the bed with his shotgun, and he waited for her to come back to kill her. At exactly 9 o'clock, she came home from the prayer meeting. As was her custom, she went into the kitchen. She put a kettle of water on to make some coffee. Then she went into the bedroom where the man was under the bed. She got down on her knee and she began to pray. And she said, oh God, thank you for such a wonderful prayer meeting. Thank you, God, for such a wonderful Bible study. Oh God, you know how my heart aches because my husband and my son have gone to live with you. And oh God, you know how burdened I am about losing those two. But she said, God, there was a man who killed them. And God, I am burdened about his soul. She said, God, please, would you just save his soul from a devil's hell and put him on the road to heaven? And you know what the Holy Spirit did? The Holy Spirit took that prayer right out of that bed. And that man came running out from under that bed. And he came out from under that bed and he said, woman, I am that man. Help me get saved. Sir, this is a true story. She took him into the kitchen. She made him some coffee. She led him to the Lord. He's a dynamic Christian preacher today. And I'm telling you, friends, that is the power of a living God. That's a miracle, friends. That's a miracle. That's a miracle when God can supernaturally just interject Himself into a situation and change a person's heart. And that's the situation we find ourselves in right now. You see, we are living in the end times. You see, the Bible, Jesus said, when you look around and you see the gospel has been preached around the world to all nations, then the end will come. We find ourselves in that moment right now. My friend, the gospel has been emphasized around the world. It has been expanded around the world. It has been exalted around the world. And people are being won to Christ right now by the millions around the world. And the coldest, deadest, hardest spot in all the world for Christianity is America. I'm telling you, friends, over in those places where they have rejected God for years, they are running to Christ. And we who have all the preachers and all the knowledge and all the great facilities, we are becoming cold and agnostic and turning our backs on God. And I'm telling you, friends, Jesus is coming soon, and you need to be ready for that day. You see, my friends, Jesus is going to come back in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, and you need to be prepared. Listen to me. If Christ were to come back tonight, would you be one of those to meet Him in the air or would you be left behind? You say, William, I think I'd meet Him in the air. Well, let me ask you a second question, sir. Why do you believe that? What makes you think you've been born again by the Holy Spirit? I venture to say that probably 75% of all church members in America are lost and doomed and down. As Brother David said last night, how can a man get saved when he's 10 years old and live all the way to 50 years of age and claim to be a Christian in that 40-year period, never winning anybody to Christ? I do not believe that man is saved. I do not believe you can be a real Christian and not have somebody just stumble over you and get saved, friend. You wouldn't have to. In 40 years, you wouldn't have to work at it. If you just had the Spirit of living God, somebody would fall over you into the kingdom of God. I'm saying this, sir. In the great state of Mississippi and across the South, everybody has walked down an aisle and made a profession of faith, so that doesn't mean anything. Everybody in the South has been baptized. We are raised with a religious heritage. Everybody believes in God. Everybody knows the story about Jesus, but the vast majority of them have never given their lives to Him. My friend, to be born again by the Holy Spirit is not some silly little walk-an-aisle, pray-a-prayer thing and then go out and live like the devil. You're coming to the God of the universe, sir, and you're saying, God, I want You to take over my life. I want You to be the boss of my life, the God of my life. I surrender everything I have to You. It's not praying a prayer. It's surrendering your life to Christ. It's being changed by the Holy Spirit. Friend, listen to me. The Bible says there's only one way to be saved. It is God's way. You see, the Gospel says you have sinned against God. You're a rebel against God. I have no trouble calling you a sinner because God calls you a sinner. God says you have sinned against Him. You have rebelled against God. You have sinned, and because of that, you are doomed and downed. You are committed to a place called hell right now, ma'am. There's no hope. You cannot save yourself. But the God of the universe sent His Son to save you, and Jesus took your sins and went to a cross and took your place. He died on that cross to pay your sin debt. Then He was buried in a tomb, and after three days, God raised Him from the dead. That's the Gospel. That's the good news. The good news is even though you're a sinner, even though you deserve to go to hell, the God of the universe has sent His Son to save you. But my friend, listen to me. The Gospel has absolutely no effect on you unless you repent of your sins, sir, and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus. God is not going to let His Son die on a cross and you make some silly little watered-down prayer and then live like the devil. You see, the Bible teaches you are what you live. If you live like a lost man, you're a lost man. Friend, I'm going to tell you, when you meet the great God of the universe, man, I'm telling you, it is a supernatural experience. It is a life-changing experience. I'm telling you, I don't, the number one problem we have in America today has been our preachers. We have preachers across America who stand up and talk about the God of the universe like it's some make-believe story. I'm telling you, friends, the God of the universe is one person. It is the living and true God, Jesus Christ, and you will either bow your knee to Him on planet Earth and be born again, or you will bow your knee at the great white throne judgment when He condemns you and dooms you to hell. But you will bow your knee to the Lord Jesus one way or the other, and tonight I want to ask you to be saved. I want to ask you to be saved, man. I want to ask you to give your heart to Christ, not join a church, not be baptized. I'm going to ask you to just get right with God, to get serious with God. Just say, God, I admit it, I have lived for myself. I am a sinner. I have been wrong, but God, I believe you love me, and I believe Jesus died for me the best I know how. I give up everything I used to love. I give my life to Him. Have you ever done that? Have you ever given your life to Jesus? What's the most important thing in your heart tonight? What do you spend most of your time on? What do you spend most of your money on? Well, whatever that is, that's the God of your life, my friend. You need to wake up because Jesus is coming soon. The God of this universe is going to return. He came that first time in poverty, but He'll come the next time in majesty. He came the first time in humiliation, but He will come the next time in exaltation. He came the first time with thorns, but He will come the second time on a throne. He came the first time with a cross, but He'll come the next time with a crown. He came the first time as the Lamb of God, but He'll come the next time as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He came the first time as the suffering Savior. He'll come the next time as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. And the Bible says in Revelation chapter 19 It tells what that day will be like verse 11, it says and I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse and He that set upon him was called faithful and true and in righteousness He doth judge and make war his eyes Were as a flame of fire on his head were many crowns and he had a name written that no man knew But he himself and he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood and his name is called the Word of God And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses clothed in fine linen White and clean and out of his mouth doth a sharp sword that with it He should smite the nations and that he shall rule them with a rod of iron and he treadeth the wine-press of the fierceness and Wrath of Almighty God and he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written king of kings and Lord of lords And the question tonight is if he were to come back tonight Would you be ready Because he's coming back. The question is are you prepared to meet God? Because if you're not prepared to meet God friend, I urge you tonight to make the most important decision you'll ever make that is to repent Give your heart to Christ be born again before it's everlastingly too late. Let's bow our heads With every head bowed every eye closed My friend, I love you, and I want more than anything else for you to be saved But I want to ask you a question. Do you know for sure? That if Jesus Christ were to come back tonight, do you know for sure that you'd be one of those to meet him in the air? Or would you be left behind doomed and down to a devil's hell or perhaps Jesus Christ doesn't come back tonight But suppose tonight you die Do you know for sure that you'd go to heaven? Do you know either one of those things 100% for sure? You say William. I don't know for sure if Jesus Christ comes back tonight that I'm gonna meet him in the air and William I don't know for sure if I died tonight. I'd go to heaven. I don't know either one of those things William But you say William, I don't want to be left behind I don't want to suffer hell and destruction You say William. I do want to be saved. I do want to go to heaven one day But you say William. I don't know what to do You say William what must I do to be saved? What must I do William so that I can know for sure that I'm prepared to meet God What must I do William so that I can know for sure that one day I'll go to heaven Well, the Bible tells us in Romans 10 13 for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Shall be saved what that means is simply this while you've been sitting here listening to this message If the Spirit of God has touched your heart and has given you a desire to be saved Then you can be saved sitting right where you are All you must do is call upon the name of the Lord What that means is right now to simply pray and repent of your sin To pray and surrender your will and your life to the Lord Jesus holding nothing back and the minute you do that with all of Your heart God will save you.
