Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

And so then people are not taught. And kids are getting on because of the sins of their fathers. See, when you don't obey the commandments of God, fulfill the law through Christ, all your sins are coming right on your children. They're cursed. They're born here. They come in some of the most demonized people ever got. You know, used to, I just one-on-one, I just catch the demons out and go through all these manifestations. I'd call them up and I'd know through the person and everything how they got ground and when they got there and everything. And I got to, you'd find out all the demons that came down through ancestors and things like that. And the most demonized people I ever saw was the one that was born out of wedlock. It's pitiful what happens to a little old child. And the powers of darkness get their ground, bang, at the moment of conception. And a little old child, he comes up, he's just so sweet and so pretty, little old baby. You go back to Deuteronomy 32, it goes on the age, the very young, and the nurseling. The curse comes on. After they talked about the curse, you go over to 32 and you see what happened. And he said, you're not going to keep the law! And then it tells you you're going to go and bow to demons, worship demons. And he said, Jesus said, God said it's from my mouth that good and ill goes forth. It's from God's mouth. See, you get to know the Jesus, you get to know the God, then you don't know the judgment of God, then you don't know the fear of God, and you go do whatever you want to do. The Lord's leading us out of there. We hurt a lot more than you realize you're hurting. Pastors, you're hurting a lot more than you realize you are. Now, the only thing I want to ask you, will you let the Word of God lead you out of spiritual darkness, you see, in balance and context? And what I shared with you, didn't you? Well, the only thing now, it needs to be in the Bible, doesn't it? Huh? See, in the Bible, it'd be good, wouldn't it, see, in balance and context, wouldn't it? Then you get to choose between God and traditions and things, don't you? We've got to change something. Let's quit changing the Word of God for a change, okay? So we go in and possess the land, folks, and the powers of darkness attach themselves to all of these sins of the flesh there. That's what you got your weapons for in Ephesians 6. You know what those weapons are? They're robes of holiness. That's the reason it says, Above all, put up a shield of faith, which the fiery darts of the evil one. You're going to quench them all. You know what the fiery darts of the evil one is? When you repent from the nature and character of Satan, of their jealousy, envy, strife, and unforgiveness, and all these things, then what's Jesus leading you to do? To purify your heart. You know what purifying your heart is? Possessing the land. That's how you possess the land. So then as you repented and start your walk, then the powers of darkness are going to come back and tempt you, and they're going to tempt you to break God's law. They're going to try to bring back anger, unforgiveness, resentment, pride, bitterness, selfishness, all of them things exalt themselves against love, and the Lord with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself. Amen? And above all, now Jesus was the example. He was tempted to lust the flesh, to lust the eye, and to boast a proud life. That's all the rebellious nature of Satan, and he proved his heart was holy. Jesus had not cast out a demon or healed one sick person. In verse 14, after he proved his heart was holy, that he had a pure heart, the power of God came on me. In verse 14, he walked in church house, and he said, The Spirit of God is on me. I've come to set the captives free. Now, our ancestors had to change some of these traditions and things about healing and stuff like that because then it wouldn't work. You know why? It's the prayer of righteous folks that develop much. And when you're walking double-minded, you're not walking righteous, and that's how our ancestors begin kicking and pulling out everything. And then we brought up, and we come up now. We're scared to death of the Spirit of God or to let God have control of it anyway. Oh, we've got to stop this, you know, because we're so used to in our flesh controlling everything.
