He shares a personal experience of how he was deeply moved by the story of God's love during a church service, leading to a new understanding of the gospel. The sermon concludes with Jesus instructing his disciples to spread the message of repentance and salvation throughout the world, promising to send them the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill this mission.
Sermon Transcription
This morning in meeting with the Pastors and Liberty students, we did a little post-Easter remembrance found in Luke of Jesus appearing to two men on the road to Emmaus. And I just want to complete now some verses just at the end of the book of Luke found in chapter 24. The two men on the road to Emmaus that Jesus talked to, they didn't know who he was, but then he was revealed to him who he was while they were breaking bread. And the point we try to make congregation, and we were thinking and we all needed it, and then when we prayed for an hour or so here, spending time with the Lord, is that fellowship with Jesus does so many wonderful things. That they were downcast, but when they just hung out with Jesus and spent time listening, talking, suddenly they were no longer depressed, they were happy. They were confused, they didn't know what was going on, just spending time with Jesus. That all left them. And finally, he opened the Scriptures to them and we talked about how important it is to ask Jesus through the Holy Spirit to teach us the spiritual meaning of the Word of God and not just have a mental understanding of the Word of God. And the only one who can give us that, the word is revelation. In other words, reveal truth. It's not mysticism in some weird cult-like language. It's God making the verse alive to your heart. How many have ever read a verse and you read it like five times, ten times, and then one day you read that same verse and the light goes on? How many have ever had that happen to you? Well, what is that? What's happening? It's the Holy Spirit giving you new insight into the Word of God. Just like I was sitting here Sunday afternoon in the 12 noon service as they were doing the story of love. And I was just sitting there as God is my witness. I told the congregation that and I said it again at three o'clock when I closed the meeting. I was just sitting there. You know how many times I've closed the meeting? How many times I've tried to present the gospel? You know how many times I've done that in my life? And as I'm sitting there and just broken, remembering His love for us, seeing that magnificent presentation, a light went on and I saw the gospel and the love of God in a new light. I don't know why I never saw it that way in my life, but that's what God can do. And I went up and I really felt I presented it better than I ever have in my life because Jesus opened the scriptures to me and He opened the truth to me. And that's what He did here with these people when you just spend time with them. As He broke the bread after blessing it and handed it out, suddenly their eyes were opened and they knew this stranger is not a stranger. This is Jesus. How did we not know it was Him? And that's another good truth. When you spend time with the Lord, you realize He's doing things in areas of your life and you didn't even know it was Him and He was working. But you only know that by spending time with the Lord. So the two men on the road to Emmaus, they quickly know what to do after being with Him. That's another thing that happens when you spend time with the Lord. You know what to do. How do you know what to do? You just know what to do. There's something that transpires. You know what to say. You know what not to say just by being in the presence of the Lord. They run to the 11 disciples and they say, you know what? The Lord appeared to us. And then they hear, yeah, He's risen from the dead. The 11 know about it. And suddenly the Lord appears to all of them, not just the 11, not just the two, but some other folks who were there, probably some women and that were there too. And then concludes the book this way. Then He opened their minds so they could understand. Well, He said to them, this is what I told you about my suffering when I was still with you. Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets and the Psalms. He told them, look what happened to me. Now you see I'm raised from the dead. Everything had to be filled that's spoken of me in the law of Moses. Where's Jesus mentioned in the law of Moses? His name is not mentioned in the prophets and in the Psalms. And what he's referring to are the Messianic portions of the Old Testament where God was predicting, prophesying, and showing beforehand that the Messiah would come and what he would be like and what he would do. For example, in the law of Moses on the Passover, the Passover lamb was killed for God said, when I see the, I will what? And that was a type, T-Y-P-E, or a picture of Jesus because he was the final lamb, but a human lamb. Remember John the Baptist said, behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. So when you read the law of Moses, what you're trying to do, we don't live under the law of Moses. We don't live by all those regulations about farming and a lot of other things that are in there that has nothing to do with our lives. We only receive the commandments in the Old Testament that are reaffirmed in the New Testament. And then there's a lot of new ones in the New Testament for us that are not mentioned in the Old Testament. Notice as you read the Old Testament, Jesus said, it talks about me in the law of Moses. It talks about me in the prophets. Remember he was wounded for our, how would Isaiah write that hundreds of years before Jesus came? Because it was a prophecy that would be fulfilled by Christ. And in the Psalms, there are Messianic Psalms that David and others wrote that reference someone who was to come. It wasn't fulfilled in David's life. It was filled in a full way in the life of Jesus. So he opened the scriptures to them. He said, then opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures. And he told them, this is what is written. The Christ will suffer. Christ is the Greek form of the Hebrew word Messiah, the promised one, the deliverer. The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. So now he's giving them their marching orders. He said, remember now, this is the message that's supposed to go throughout the whole world that I told you about before, that repentance that leads to salvation, turning to God and putting your faith in the savior that God sent. Start in Jerusalem and spread that message throughout the whole world. You are witnesses, Jesus says in verse 48 of these things. Now, listen, I am going to send you what my father has promised. I am going to send you now what my father has promised. The father promised Jesus, Jesus came. Now, Jesus says there's another promise the father made. I'm going to go back now to heaven and somehow facilitate the carrying out of this other promise. But stay in the city, what city? Jerusalem, until you have been clothed with power from on high. Stay in Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high. Now, then he says he took them to out to a hill in a place near Bethany, and there he ascended and left them. Now, that's written by Luke. Luke also wrote the book of what? What is the other book that Luke wrote? Anyone know? Book of Acts. And he starts in the first chapter with that same picture of Jesus ascending before them, giving them last instructions. So here's the message. You see me. Earlier on, I didn't read it. He says, look at my nail prints. Look at the nail prints in my feet. And he said, don't be afraid. I'm not a ghost. And then he said, look at me. I have flesh and bones. So, you know, I'm not a ghost. And then he ate food in front of them. This incredible resurrection body he had. It was human, but supernatural. He could appear where he wanted to appear. He could hide his appearance to people who he was, his identity. So he says to them, and let's just think what it applies to them, because scripture, when you read scripture, the first question is, what did it mean to the people who he said it to? Because they had all those disciples were with him. He led them all. There were women there. The two men on the road to Emmaus are in the same group, if you follow the story in Luke 24. And then the 11 disciples, they all follow him out. And now he leaves. But before he leaves, he says, you know, the message, you know, I'm alive. Now you understand the scriptures. I've opened your mind. Now you understand. Now you understand the messianic promises that are in the law of Moses. Actually, there's one in Genesis about the seed of the woman that would crush the serpent's head. That's the first prophecy in the Bible about the about Christ. So, you know, the prophecies I've opened your mind to understand the scriptures. That's good. You know that I'm alive. And now you know why I died. And now you got the message. Now this whole thing has got to be preached to the whole world. And even though they were a little fearful, they probably were saying, man, we got to get to it. He said, but don't go anywhere. Don't go anywhere. Don't go anywhere until you're clothed with power from on high. Notice power, ability, might from on high, having nothing to do with this earth. It's not high IQ. It's not computer power. It's not electronic power. It's not personality power. It's power from on high. And the word in the Greek there for clothed is you take and put on your jacket and you say, and I got my jacket on now. That's the same word. It's like putting on a garment. He said, for you to do what I've told you to do, you can't do it unless you're wearing as a garment power from on high. Now of all the passages in the Bible of all the truths in the Bible that has been lost to the present generation of churches, this is probably the top one. In some places they've lost the gospel and what Christ's death and resurrection meant. But even when we know that message, notice Jesus said there's something more you need. And I got it covered for you. The father promised it in the book of Joel, among other places in the last days, God says, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and people are going to go and be able to do things beyond themselves. Young men will see visions. Old men will dream dreams upon my sons and daughters. My spirit is going to come not just for men, but for men and women that day had not come yet. It was going to come and it was fulfilled in the book of Acts in the second chapter. And Jesus said to those men, all right, you flopped and you failed when they arrested me. But you know what? I'm good to go with you guys. I show mercy on you. I know you're weak, but I'm, I still have plans for you. Now you got the message. I've opened the scriptures to you. Now you understand the promises. You understand why I had to suffer. You had to understand all that stuff. I told you about it. You know that I'm alive. Nobody's going to say, how do you know he's alive? Hey, we ate with him. So the world needs this message. You got to start in Jerusalem. You got to end up in Brooklyn on a Friday night and transitions meeting. You got to spread this good news. Oh, but don't go yet because Peter, you can't do it without power from on high. What kind of power was he talking about? Supernatural Holy Spirit power, power that comes from the person of the Holy Spirit. Remember the Holy Spirit is not a gas. He's not a liquid. He's a person. So his control of me releases power in my life. What kind of power would they need? Then we'll apply it to ourselves and then pray. Well, they would need power to endure because if you're here tonight, I'm not just talking to the pastors here. I'm talking to everyone who wants to spread the good news of Jesus. How many want everyone, everyone in the building who wants to be used by God to spread the message, to see people get saved, lift your hand up. I don't care where you live. You don't have to be a minister. You don't have to go to Bible school. The early church didn't have all of this stuff in their head that we've developed in American Christianity. No one was thinking I got to go to seminary or I can't do anything. I mean, I mean, I don't have a master's. How could I, God possibly use me? That's all, that's all American stuff. That's not Bible stuff. And schooling is great. I wish I would have been able to go to a seminary Bible school, but it is what it is in scripture. Es lo que es. He said that when you go to do God's work, you will be attacked and you will be discouraged and he will, the enemy will try to drag you down. And the only way you can offset the enemy's attack is to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might be clothed with power. So it's like Jesus could see down the corridor of time and see all the attacks that would be on them. All the times they'd be thrown in jail and beat half to death. A lot of other people would cut bait and run. He said, no, that's why you can't do it unless you're clothed with power. You have to have power to endure. You have to have power to love people who are not lovable. Unless the Holy Spirit is empowering us, we're going to like certain people, be drawn to certain people, especially if they're our race, our color, our age group, and all of that. But people who are other or people who smell or people who are whatever, you know, it's like, no, but that's not the way God sees them. See, God says, you can't represent me unless you're endued with a power to love people. How many want to love people more? Say amen. And the only way you can do that, you can't teach it. No one can teach love. God is love. How are you going to teach God? That's why Jesus said, no, you got the message. You got your theology right. You're eating with me, but don't go anywhere until you're clothed with power. You got to put on power as a garment, power from on high. Then there's the power that's needed to break through all the lies that are in people's minds and hearts. And you can't do that by being clever. There's a power that God gives you that when you speak or witness, those words are like arrows and they can go into somebody and shake them and get their attention. Otherwise, it's just your words, my words, even though they're true words and they're the Bible words. They don't have the same power unless the Holy Spirit is operating on the speaker. That's why there are churches that are filled. There are churches that buildings that are empty preaching the same Bible. Why is it different? There are transition ministries that have 11 people, and then there are others that are being blessed. It's not the building or the lights or whatever food they're handing out. It's that there's some invisible power that God is using, especially with those who sing or speak that leaves an impression on people. I look back on my own life. I can think of times when the Holy Spirit intervened in my life, just showed people what to do. See, it's not just power to endure, power to love unlovable people, but it's power to penetrate and break through. Like Paul says, the weapons of my warfare are not weak, but they're powerful to the pulling down of what? Strongholds. What was that power? Yeah, the power of the Holy Spirit. All the great men and women who stand out in church history that I've read about and so longing forward to meeting them, what stood out about them was not their theological positions. They had power from heaven. They had power from on high. Something happened when they did it. Were they perfect? No, but they were flawed. They made mistakes, but still they had power and other people are more clever, but they don't penetrate your heart. Oh my goodness, when the Holy Spirit comes, he can just change people. Some of you who are visiting might not, you know, been raised in hearing stories like this, but I just feel impressed to leave you with this. This power is promised by God. It's not something you earn. The same way we receive salvation by faith, we receive the power of the Holy Spirit by faith. Now, Pastor Symbol, what are you trying to say? Here's what I'm trying to say. Here's what the scripture teaches us. Everyone who's a Christian has the Holy Spirit living in them. All in favor, say aye. If anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, he doesn't belong to him. So all Christians have the Holy Spirit. The only reason we have new life and the only reason we have eternal life is because the Holy Spirit has given to us. The letter kills, but the Spirit gives what? Life. But not everybody walks by the Spirit. No, not everyone's full of the Holy Spirit. Not everyone is clothed with power. Well, of course not. The church at Laodicea was neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm. Jesus was going to vomit it out of his mouth. You're going to tell me they were clothed with power and Jesus is vomiting them out of his mouth? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. That's why in Ephesians chapter 5, Paul says, keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit. Keep getting those garments of power on you. So every day you go on, you have power to resist the devil, power to love people, power to endure, power to break through, and then power to be led by the Spirit. That ability to know what to do. Paul on his first missionary journey was fought by someone called Simon Bargesis, who was trying to turn a Roman official on the island of Cyprus, which is right now in the news because they're getting bailed out, their financial trouble. Right on that island, Paul was having his first encounter with some difficulty while he was ministering with Barnabas, and this Roman official wanted to hear the gospel, but as Paul's preaching it, this witch, this messenger of Satan is whispering in this guy's ear, don't listen to them. It's a bunch of hokey stuff. Don't, don't do it. And he's trying to turn them away from it. And then the Bible says this, Paul, full of the Holy Spirit, by the way, that's where his name changes, right in that verse. Saul, Paul, who used to be called Saul, full of the Holy Spirit. Why would it say that, full of the Holy Spirit? Because what's going to happen now is heavy duty. Paul, full of the Holy Spirit says, you son of the devil, you full of mischief and evil. Why will you try to turn this man away from the true way of God? And how would he know that this was going to happen? You know what? Right now, you're going to be blind for a season. And suddenly a mist comes over the guy, and he can't see. And Paul says, that's what the judgment of God is on you, because we were sent here by God, and now you're trying to fight against the power of God. You're not going to be able to see for a while. And suddenly the guy is walking around, he can't see. And the Bible says, the Roman official said, sign me up for Jesus Christ here. I am going to become, baptize me and sign me up. When he saw the teaching of the Lord. What was the teaching of the Lord? It wasn't in word only, but it was in pastors that are here, congregation that are here. Don't we need that more than anything else? Word only churches, dime a dozen, some better than others. But we need, starting with the speaker and this church, come Holy Spirit. Your life can change with one encounter of the Holy Spirit, one encounter with the Holy Spirit, one arranged thing by the Holy Spirit. So I'm in Oklahoma City in my junior year in college, or was it my senior year in college? We're playing at a very famous basketball tournament, the University of Rhode Island is, and we're playing against, among other teams, we beat a couple of teams, and we ran into the team, one of the teams that's in the final four, which is Wichita State. We play them and got beat by them in the championship game. So I get to Oklahoma City and I'm in college, it was my junior year, maybe my junior year. And God's been dealing with me, but I'm struggling. You know, I'm caught up in some bad things. I'm just divided in my heart, but yet God's working in me. I started visiting a church where the meetings were touched by the Holy Spirit, and God's just starting to do something with this off-the-wall Brooklyn kid playing basketball. So I go to Oklahoma City and we land, before any games start, we land on a Sunday afternoon. The coach says, everybody in the lobby, we're going to have a meeting to give you the curfew. Guys can't be running around, partying, drinking and all that. I never drank because I was afraid that what happened to my dad would happen to me. So we're in the lobby, and now my heart is pounding. I got to go to church. Jesus, I need you. My roommate cursed. I had this one roommate on this trip. He couldn't say five words without cursing. Have you ever met anyone who can't speak English without cursing? No, lift your hand if you know what I'm talking about. Yeah, well, a lot of us in New York, we know that, right? This guy could not speak a sentence without a four-letter word. And just hearing that in the hotel room, and just we had, you know, roommates. So I'm just desperate for God. So the meeting ends. I grab a hold. I can see myself in a blazer that we had to wear traveling. Very corny, but we had to wear it. And I run to the telephone book, and I look in the telephone book, and I'm looking for churches, churches, churches, something downtown. I say to the bellman, a concierge or someone, is this, how far is this? And it's getting like, it's like seven o'clock, 720, 715. I said, how far is this one? No, that's on the other side of town. How about this one? No, this one. He said, no, this one, if you jump in a cab, it's about a 10-minute ride. I said, oh, good. So I wrote down the address. I jump in a cab. I'm that hungry. You ever get hungry for God? You ever get hungry to be in God's presence? Come on, give me an amen if you've ever been. I mean, I was just that, you know, and I was a lot of battles going on inside of me. So I get in a cab, a little radical, you know, take me to this place. And I get to the church, beautiful cross outside, Oklahoma City, downtown, about 30 blocks from my hotel. My hotel was, I think, the tallest building at that time in Oklahoma City. And I go, and the people are all coming out of church. The service had started at 6 and they ended at 7.15, 7.20. I blew the cab money. I can't believe this. I lost the affair, and there's no church, and people are greeting me. Oh, young man, where are you from? I'm from New York City. I play for University of Rhode Island, blah, blah. Oh, praise God, we wish you would have been here for the service. I said, you wish I could have. I wish I could have been at the service. And then they say goodbye. And everyone gets in cars, and I'm 30 blocks away, and I look down that way to my left. I can see myself, and I see the building. And I said, I can't catch a cab here in Oklahoma City. It's a quiet neighborhood. I'm just going to walk to a main street, and I'm going to walk down there. But God, I'm in a foreign city to me. I've come from so far. I've come from so far, New York. You know, I want to be in your presence. Are you really dealing with me? What's going on in my life right now? And all the battles I was going through. So I'm walking down. I get to the main street, and now I see the hotel's way, way down there. But where am I going to go? It's 7.30, quarter to 8, 10 to 8, and I'm just walking. And it starts to rain just a little bit, a light mist. And I'm walking, and walking, and walking, and I'm just saying, God, I'm so desperate. I've come from so far. But I've come so far in my life, and you know how discouraged I was by my dad's alcoholism, and all that's happened, and I haven't been a good Christian. I'm not even a good Christian now in the school. Oh, God, please have mercy on me. Help me. And I'm walking, and walking, and suddenly I look across the street, and there's a cross on a building. I went, look at that cross. What is that? That's a church. Hey, let me give it a shot, all right? I cross the street. I walk in, and an usher sees me in this little lobby, and he says, sit in the back. Don't disrupt any of the people. No, he's been a good usher. And you should always listen to ushers, what they tell you. Everybody say amen. Amen. See, I caught you on that. You were laughing at me. I sit in the back, and suddenly I'm just sitting there, and God's presence just comes in that room, and man is preaching. He's ending a sermon. I'm in Oklahoma City. Never been there in my life. Never been there. I've been back maybe once, and suddenly, again, the visitors used a different kind of story. I'm telling you what happened to me. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a woman stands up and begins to speak in another language, in tongues. I thought, why, my, my, what have I walked into here? And she goes on and on, but I mean like you're gripping, you're gripping the pew. You know, there's Pentecostal culture and tradition, and then there's the Holy Spirit, and there's a big difference between the two. One is predictable. The other one is the wind blows, and you don't know what's going to happen. And suddenly, my heart starts burning, and she gets done, and there's no interpretation, and I'm opening my eyes to see what's going to go on, because I know the Bible that there, if that happens, there's supposed to be something to edify the church. And the pastor, as I look up, points at me, and he says, some have come from very far, but the Lord is with you. And then he reads my life. He reads everything I was going through, and I start weeping convulsively. And something else happened, and then some people went forward to repent, and a woman went to the front of the church and said, I haven't liked a lot of you, and I've been gossiping, but God forgive me. And she threw herself on the platform. And I'm going, what have I walked in here to, Acts chapter 2? What's going on here? Now, you could laugh at it and say, you imagine that. Hey, believe what you will. Believe what you will. I'm not going to argue with you. I'm telling you what happened to me. And I wasn't one to believe or liable to auto-suggestion. I'm not susceptible to that so easily at that age. No, no, no. And did you know what? Two hours later, I was still there on the floor and at the altar praying because God brought me to that building, and God read my mail, and God saw my broken heart and all the stuff I was trying to fight through and said, don't be afraid. I'm with you. He even spoke about certain things which I rejected because it had to do with me standing right here before you. But I said, no, no, no. That's too scary. I can't think about that. But tarry in Jerusalem until you're clothed with power from on high. Then you're going to make an impression on the world that you live in. I love the ministry of the Holy Spirit. How many are with me today? Can we just put our hands together and thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit? Every eye closed. I get the sense in my spirit here that some of that are visiting here saying, no, no, no, no. I don't believe in those things for today. Whatever, whatever. Believe what you want. I'm just telling you what I know the New Testament says, and I know what happened to me, and I know what's happened to countless people. Are there excesses? Are there swindlers on TV blaming the Holy Spirit for their hokum and their ways to try to make money and trick people and all of that? Yes. Don't you understand? The devil would only counterfeit something if it was dangerous to him. There's the real, the pure, beautiful Holy Spirit full of power. Pastor Johnson, could you go get the oil? Pastor Delina, Pastor Todd, all the pastors that are here in the building, could you come up on the platform? All the pastors, their wives, whoever's here who would like us to pray over you, the congregation is going to pray over you, but this is a privilege for us. Get out of your seat quickly and come on up and stand at this altar. All the pastors that are here, come right to the edge. Every eye closed. Pastors, my brothers who I respect in the Lord, we are co-laborers for Jesus Christ. We are praying that you will be visited by a fresh baptism of power from on high. That's what we're focusing on. We're not praying for your finances. We're not praying for your children. We are praying primarily that God the Holy Spirit is going to come on you in a new way and impart power, anointing, wisdom, boldness, endurance, love for the unlovely, that God's going to just do a new work in you. Are you with me on that? Just say amen. That's what we want to pray for you. Okay, now listen, congregation, if you're here today and you say, Pastor, like you were struggling, but you felt like God was doing something new and you didn't know where it would lead, you didn't know how it would work out, I feel that in my own life and I realize the number one thing I need probably right now is I need to be endued with power from on high. Power to overcome the devil. Power to overcome sin. Power to overcome fear and complexes. Just get out of your seat and come. I don't care if you've been a Christian for a year. You feel that call on your life for the missions, to work against child trafficking, to go to Haiti to work with the elderly, whatever the calling is, get out of your seat and just come up here. Every eye closed, the pastors, the deacons, deaconesses, prayer band, they're moving among the people laying hands on them. Congregation, do you realize there's 150 something pastors here? Do you realize that if God would do something new in their lives, it would affect their church? Do you realize that if it affects their church, it's going to affect their community? Do you realize that if it affects their community, it's going to affect the United States of America? I want everybody in the church to do this. Please, congregation, as a personal favor to me, stretch your hand out toward these pastors and workers and students. Come on, we're going to pray for them. Come on, we're going to pray for them. Pastor Hammond is going to lift his voice. Let's pray together. Oh, precious Jesus, precious Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. Thank you, Father. Thank you, God, for all of these men and women of God that are standing at this altar right now, God, with their hands lifted up to heaven. God, you see the hunger in their hearts right now, Lord. Oh, Jesus, precious Holy Spirit, baptize each one of them afresh right now, God. Let just your kind of glory rest on them right now, Father. Lord, as they reach out to you, Jesus, baptize them afresh, God, afresh anointing in their ministry, Lord. Oh, God, in their preaching, Lord, in their teaching, God, in their counseling, oh, God, in their servanthood, Lord, fresh anointing from heaven, God. Reach out to each one of them right now, God, wherever they've come from, oh, Lord, as the deer panteth for water, so their souls panteth after thee, God. Jesus, the churches that are represented here by these servants of God, bring revival in those churches, oh, God. Lord, where there's been death, bring life in the name of Jesus. Oh, God, as we lay hands on them, as we anoint them with oil, let your Holy Spirit rest upon them, oh, God. Lord, let your love abound, perfect love casteth away all fear. Lord, we cancel fear in the name of Jesus. Every church represented here, God, break down denominations, God, break down racial barriers, break down, oh, God, that which divides and bring unity in the body of Christ tonight, Lord. Oh, Father, bring revival to these churches, oh, God. Bring revival, bring a spirit of prayer, oh, God, in the name of Jesus. God, your word declares that when we delight ourselves in you, you will give us the very desires of our heart. So as these men and women are delighting in you tonight, give them the very desires of their heart. Lord, we pray for these Liberty students that are standing here tonight, God. Some of them crying out, God, what next, oh, God? Meet them in this place tonight. So, Father, we thank you, Lord. Thank you for this atmosphere of prayer. Thank you for your presence here tonight. And we serve notice, we serve notice on Satan that Jesus, you're building your church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against you. Satan, the blood of Jesus is against you tonight. The blood of Jesus is against you tonight. So, God, we commit ourselves. We say yes, Lord. We say yes to you tonight, no to the world, and yes to you, God, in Jesus' mighty name. Hallelujah. These pastors, their churches are just as important as the Brooklyn Tabernacle, because there are no special churches. There's just a special Savior, Jesus. And these students from Liberty, they're going to get back on a bus in a few minutes and then go all the way back, seven, eight, nine hours, whatever, to Lynchburg. I want them to go back with love and encouragement. So, we're going to dismiss. And I want you to, if you see any of them, make them feel welcome, give them a hug. We're all going to hug each other. We're all going to root for each other. God, I pray that this coming Sunday, when these men return to their pulpits, that there will be an impartation of power in those services, Lord, that in the praise and worship, when they preach the text they choose, the words, the illustrations, there will be wonderful things done in the name of your Holy Son, Jesus Christ. Stretch out your hand, Lord, and do things beyond what we could ask or think, and bless these churches. Bless them and protect them. And give everyone, Lord, a safe trip home, not only going to Liberty or these folks going back to where they come from, but all of us get back to our homes safely tonight, Lord. On the subways, watch over all of us, Lord. In the cars, no accidents, no muggings, no robberies, nothing, Lord. Get us all home safely so that we can praise you in our beds tonight. We thank you for a beautiful day, a beautiful night you've given us, in Jesus' name. And everyone say it aloud.
