Sermon Transcription
Good morning, Times Square Church. God bless you. Bring you greetings from Ireland, where I've been all week. Pastor Teresa and I have been there together, and oh my, my, my. Thank you for your prayers. What a phenomenal work of God is happening in Ireland right now. Young people by the score is coming to Christ. A Bible school producing some great young preachers. It is truly an amazing hour. We see heaven on the rise and hell trying to resist, but the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church of Jesus Christ. I want you to give me your best ear this morning. Psalm 110, please. I want to speak to you about willing in the day of power, and this is a message directly for everyone. Everyone who can hear today, this is for you. Father, I thank you, God, with all my heart, I praise you for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I thank you for your word, which is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path. I thank you, God, that we are not children of darkness, that the day we're living in should overtake us as a thief, but we are children of the day. And so, Lord, make us aware of how we fit into this moment in history. Give us a clear understanding, O God. Make it very real to every heart. I pray for the gift of faith to arise in every person who hears this message today, not just a few, not a select few leaders, but everybody who can hear. Let faith begin to arise in our hearts. Give us grace and strength to face this dark hour in which we live. And Father, I thank you for this. I pray for courage to not turn back, for courage to finish the journey, to go the full distance that you have for each of us. Bless and anoint the speaking of your word today. Help me, Lord, God Almighty. Make this real to every heart. I thank you for it in Jesus' name. Psalm 110, Psalm of David, the king. Now, this is a psalm that most who study it agree that it speaks of the coming day when Christ judges the nations. It speaks of the victory of his cross, the ascending to God, the sitting at the right hand of all power, and the empowering of the people that represent him on the earth. It's all actually in Psalm 110. If you ever want to do a study, it's a phenomenal study. It's completely prophetic in nature. The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion. Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. The people shall be willing in the day of thy power. I want you just to remember that first sentence in verse three. The people shall be willing in the day of thy power in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning thou hast to do of thy youth. The Lord has sworn and will not repent. Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen. He shall fill the places with dead bodies. He shall wound the heads over many countries. He shall drink of the brook in the way. Therefore, shall he lift up the head. It speaks of an everlasting priesthood, a youthfulness, a youthful strength that does not fade, a source of supply that never ends. But there's a verse that I want to focus on, verse three at the beginning. The people shall be willing in the day of thy power. Now, we know that the power which God has shown through Jesus Christ and often given glimpses of it through his church, it's one day going to result in the total defeat of evil. No matter how evil presents itself, no matter how it seems to be prospering in this or any other generation, there's a day coming when God the Father will turn to his son and say it's, the iniquity is complete. The message has been preached. Those who are coming in are coming in. Go receive your church. Establish your kingdom in the earth. Genesis chapter 14 verses 18 to 20 talk about verse four. Speaking about Christ, it says, the Lord is sworn and will not repent. Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. Now, when Abraham heard that his son Lot, he had a nephew, but his family member was caught in compromise in Sodom and Gomorrah. He was mixed. He was part of the family of faith, but he also had ties to this world. May I put it that way? And because of where he was, he ended up ensnared and caught and captivated, not only him, but his whole family. Abraham heard of it, marshaled the strength that he had. It wasn't a lot of strength. He only had 300 and something people that were trained up in his household. It's not like it was a huge army, but he marshaled the little strength that he had and in his heart said, I cannot let my brother be taken captive. And he went out and with the strength that he had, he fought and he won a victorious victory, which of course is a type of you and I going out in our weakness, not trusting in ourselves, but trusting in God, having a heart that says, I cannot rest while my brother is in captivity. I must go. I must do something. And Abraham did. And he, as he was returning with lot and with lots family and the other families that were taken captive, a priest who was a Christ type came out of the city with bread and wine and blessed him and called him the possessor of heaven and earth. In other words, Abraham, you have the heart of God. Therefore you will have victory on the earth. And he blessed him. It was an incredible blessing because Jesus Christ at the last supper took out bread and took out wine. He was a type of this Melchizedek. And it's through the life of Christ that when you and I go into the battle, Jesus said, because you have this heart, because you're not willing to just stand idly by and let your brother be taken into captivity because you're willing to fight for those who cannot fight. They have no strength. They can't fight for themselves. I bless you. He strength. I bless you with provision beyond all of your own natural provision. I bless you with wisdom. And those who have the heart of God who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son will also be able to touch the hearts of men in this generation. There have been seasons where God arises and lets us experience a foretaste of what will soon be a total and complete victory. Now these are called seasons of spiritual awakening. It's not God who wakes up. It's you and I who wake up. He is omnipresent, which means he's always been here. Always is. Doesn't just one day stretch himself and decide to come down and check out planet earth. He's here. The fullness of God abides within us in the person of the Holy Spirit. We're just not aware of it. But there are seasons throughout history where the lights go on in God's house, which is you and me. And we just begin to realize, hey, we have the, we have not, we don't have just knowledge about God and verses about God. We have the actual God living inside of us. The God who came and died on the cross, the God was burdened from the moment of his birth. And even before he was born was to see men, women, and children freed from the slavery of sin and brought home again where they belong at the hand of God in heaven. There are moments in history where God stirs those who can hear. And once again, faith and obedience arises in our hearts because for this reason, God has heard the cry of the oppressed and has come to set them free. That's why we get stirred. Psalm 12 five says for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy. Now will I arise, says the Lord, and I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him. Psalm 107 tells us this way, talks about people who are in the city, but they're lonely. It says they wandered in the wilderness. In Psalm 107 verse four, in a solitary way, they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. And then they cried to the Lord in their trouble and he delivered them out of their distresses. There are people in this city that are crying to God at night. There's a sigh going up. You and I don't necessarily hear it, but God hears it. And his response to it has never been to send angels. His response has been to send his church. You and me, the neighborhoods that we live in, God knows who's crying on the very floor of your own apartment building or in the office where you work or in the unemployment center where you're looking for work. God knows who's crying. He knows what they're crying. Down in verse 10, it says, such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, bound and affliction and iron because they rebelled against the words of God and condemned the counsel of the most high. Therefore, he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down. There was none to help. Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble and he saved them out of their distresses. How many prodigal sons and daughters do we have in this generation were raised in the house of God, have some knowledge of the word of God, but they chose to rebel against it. Like their prodigal son, they said, give me my inheritance. Give me peace. Give me life. Give me some form of assurance of my salvation, but don't ask me to walk with you, Jesus. I've got plans. You see, I've got things that I have to fulfill and they take that inheritance and they've spent it in places because they rebelled against the words of God and they condemned his counsel because he had a pathway for them, but they wouldn't listen. But now many people's hearts in our generation are being brought down with labor. Now they're starting to cry to the Lord in their trouble. There's a lot of prayer going up that you and I might not be aware with our natural ear, but the Holy Spirit is aware of it. Fools, verse 17, because of their transgression and because of their iniquities are afflicted. The soul abhors all manner of meat and they draw near to the gates of death. Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble and he saves them out of their distresses. He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions or from that which would destroy them. You look in our streets today and you see the parade of perversion. You see all of this filth and foolishness, everybody applauding evil and yet there's a cry in some of their hearts no matter how they look, no matter what they're wearing, no matter what they're doing at the moment. There's something inside when men and women go home at the end of the day and they're sitting alone on the edge of their bed and there's a deep cry inside. Is this what I was created for? Is this all my life is about? Is this victory? They begin to cry and the Lord sends his word to them and heals them and delivers them from that which they've created which would destroy them. It also speaks about commerce in a nation. They go down to the sea and ships and do business in great waters. Verse 26 says they mount up to the heavens think of the stock market and forget which years were 2005-2006 and then they go down again to the depths and their soul is melted because of trouble. They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits end. Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble and he brings them out of their distresses. He turns the wilderness into standing water and dry ground into water springs and there he makes the hungry to dwell that they may prepare a city for habitation and sow the fields and plant vineyards which may yield fruits of increase. He blesses them also so they're multiplied greatly and suffers not their cattle to decrease. Verse 41 he sets the poor on high from affliction and makes him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it and rejoice and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. God will allow sin to follow its natural course where it leads to a cry of despair in every class of society and I happen to believe that's where we are today and if we're not fully there we're on the edge of it now. We've reached the borders of this place where a cry is going to come up from all quarters and you see this why this is why this call is for all people not just a select few because we live everywhere. If you took the corporate body of Christ here in New York City we live everywhere we live in every strata of society. We're among the poor, we're among the rich, we're among the educated, we're among the uneducated, we're in every neighborhood, we're in every borough, we're in every building. That's why the call is not just to a few it's to the whole church of Jesus Christ. Exodus chapter 3 verse 7 the Lord said I've surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt and I've heard their cry and for by reason of their taskmasters for I know their sorrows and I'm come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them out of that land into a good land and a large land to a land flowing with milk and honey. A land of course he goes on to say that's presently occupied by that which has no right to be there any longer. I've called you. He said in verse 10 come now therefore and I will send thee unto Pharaoh that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. In verse 11 we find the problem that all of us face and Moses said unto God who am I that I should go and that's the dilemma. It always has been the dilemma of the church of Jesus Christ. We are clearly spoken to by God. We are clearly shown the provision. We're shown the reasons why we're left on the earth as his church. We're shown where the power of God is but we look at our resources like Abraham might have just for a moment and we we realize it was several kings came against the city of Sodom and took captivated from a formidable force no doubt. They all pulled together to take the city captive and Abraham looks and he's only got 300 and something trained people in his own house. His own resources look fairly mediocre and that's the problem we face. Abraham could have said oh God give me five more years to train up more and maybe when I get to a thousand warriors I'll have a shot. I'll have a chance of defeating this. No no no the blessing comes to those who don't look to themselves in their own strength. The blessing of God comes to you and I when in our weakness we finally realize that God doesn't call the strong in their own natural strength. He doesn't call the wise in their own wisdom. He doesn't call the noble in their own nobility. He doesn't call the connected in their own connectivity may I put it that way. No no he calls those that really don't have a prayer of winning the battle without the power of God with them but they do have the heart of God at the center of core of who they are. There are moments in history when Jonathans rise up again and they say to their armor bearer a friend it doesn't really matter if there's only two of us. We're going to go up that hill because God doesn't need an army to win a victory. He needs a heart of faith. There's a moment when there's an Esther who says to a few of her friends pray for me and fast. I'm going into the king and if I perish I perish but I can't stand idly by when the law of death has been written over my people. I have to take what I have and do something with it. I feel the call of God. I feel that there's an urging when the Holy Spirit is leading. You can't deny it. Yes you can look in the mirror and you can look at your own resume and you can say God are you sure you have the right person. God doesn't choose us because we're mighty wise or strong. He sends us because we're his choice. I chose you says the Lord and on our part it's simply that we're willing to go. Moses was past his prime and in his own estimation of failure. 80 years old, 40 years since he saw his shot at victory fall through his fingers. He lost his power of speech. He didn't have a sword in his hand anymore. He wasn't connected in Pharaoh's palace. There was no plan B any longer for Moses and it was at that point that God called him. Gideon was the least of a small and influential family in the smallest tribe of Israel. Isn't that amazing? When God wants to do a miracle what does he look for? The smallest of the small of the small of the small of the small. The least of the least of the least of the least of the least. He says I need to send a prophet to my people. Let me see where are the barren wombs now that I can do a miracle in. Amazing. We know this historically. We know it but where an awakening comes when you and I finally realize that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He doesn't change. His ways don't change. His methodology doesn't change. The dilemma of every generation is God's own people make the choice. We stand like the children of Israel at the very shore as it is of every promise of God and we look in the Bible and we agree. We say yes it's true. Every word is true. It's everything God says it is. Nevertheless the giants are there. And so we live in the wilderness. We raise our children in the wilderness. We deny them the supernatural power and provision of our God. Esther was of no royal birth and at the time of her greatest calling she didn't even feel desired by the king. She wasn't sure. Maybe in the beginning maybe in the honeymoon stage if somebody had approached Esther and said would you approach the king that he might rewrite the law of death that's over the nation. She might have just hopped skipped and jumped right in. But she was aware of her own lack of loveliness as she saw it. Lack of desirability before the king. And it was at this time it was a time of the awareness of her vulnerability and her frailty that the calling of God comes to her. Nehemiah is a man with little or no natural skill to do that what God called him to do. He's a butler. He had been trained as a butler from his youth. In those days a butler meant you brought the king his meal and if some you tasted it first in the event somebody had poisoned it you die and the next butler comes along and serves the king. And you tasted of the wine whatever it was the king was drinking and then everybody would probably stand around for five or ten minutes and if you didn't fall over dead or convulsing then the king said thank you and took his meal. Suddenly one day the burden of God comes upon him to do something he's not trained for. Isn't that amazing? To go back to Israel and rebuild the wall around the city of God. He's not a mason he's not an architect he's got nothing on his wall he's can you imagine when he showed up he said the Lord sent me to rebuild the wall around about the city and that's that's a phenomenal thing for for a Jew that would be miraculous. And they would look at him and say well what is your skill set to do this? I'm a butler. You see that the point is they were willing to go and how surprised they must have been that the people were suddenly willing to follow them. You see that's really the key. Exodus 431 says the people believed and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel and looked upon their affliction they bowed their heads in worship. Well it's an amazing thing it was each one of these instances was the day of God's power. Not only were the vessels that were going to be used of God willing to believe God but there was a sudden willingness in the populace to believe. And this is really what the Holy Spirit's given me to speak to you today. You'll be stunned as you say yes to God in the days ahead as to how many are going to be willing to follow you. Starting in your own house with your own family and going into your own neighborhood and the words may not be eloquent. Moses stuttered by this time but hundreds of thousands of people bowed their heads in worship. In the natural it's an 80 year old man with a stick. But there was a willingness. It was the day of God's power. This is my point. The people shall be willing in the day of thy power. There was a willingness a sudden willingness in society to turn to God but unless there's a voice how shall they know? How will they know without a preacher? How will they hear unless we go? How will it be understood unless you and I are willing to open our voice our mouths and speak for God and not be overwhelmed by our lack of ability our lack of eloquence our lack of degrees and diplomas our lack of everything else and just simply say I will go. Judges 6 34 said the spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon he blew a trumpet and Abiezer was gathered after him and then it and then start speaking and judges that from town to town to town to town the word went forward and people gathered. Can you imagine in the natural it would be like have you heard God has chosen this man from the least of the tribe of the least of the family his father has a grove to a heathen god in the backyard we're saved in the natural it's foolish but it was the day of God's power it was the day of deliverance from the Midianites and there was a sudden willingness in the people to follow this weak leader. Esther chapter 9 verse 2 says the Jews gathered themselves together in their cities and no man could withstand them for the fear of them fell upon all the people the phenomenal thing because realistically Esther became a co-regent with her husband the king unprecedented in history that this kind of a thing could happen women's voices were not honored or especially appreciated but God chose Esther and through that vessel she began to urge the king and the king gave her permission and laws began to be rewritten and the people stood up and were given the power of God to withstand their enemies Nehemiah chapter 2 verse 18 says then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me as also the king's words that he had spoken to me and they said let us rise up and build so they strengthened their hands for this good work amazing this guy shows up with no history he's not even been raised in Israel he's never been there he's not an architect he's not an engineer he doesn't have a tripod he has a word in his hand I have the authority of the king to do this and I have the resources of the king to do this and I have the protection of the king to do this and I have the power of the king to do this Jesus in Luke chapter 4 verse 18 stood in the temple and said the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he's anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted to preach deliverance to the captives in the recovering of sight to the blind and to set free or to set at liberty those that are bruised and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord and he closed the book and gave it again to the minister and sat down and the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him and he began to say to them this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears this day this day the question now was who is willing to follow who is willing to get up and bring this knowledge and message of this incredible provision and mercy of God to those who are poor physically and spiritually and in strength who's willing to step out and let their own broken heart be healed so that they might bring that same message to somebody else who is willing to be delivered that they might go to those that are captivated with a simple message God sent me to you I'm not coming to you with a story of fiction but I once was in a captivated place I heard the word of God and I got up and God marvelously opened that door and let me out and I walk in freedom and I want to tell you what Jesus Christ has done for me Jesus Christ will do for you and the recovering of sight to the blind those who can't see they don't see a way out they don't see a way forward they don't understand anything because it can't be seen with the natural eye but the Lord Jesus Christ will have vessels that can go to this generation and say let me tell you about something you can't see right now but if you will listen to what I say your eyes will be open and you will see it very very shortly for once I didn't know the way ahead but God gave it to me and to set free those that have been wounded those that have been let down what a generation we live in family is all but destroyed now incredible heartache everywhere it would be hopeless were it not for the words of the Lord Jesus Christ I came to set free to bring into freedom those who have been let down those who have been wounded those who have lost trust I suppose the question is are you willing are you willing are you willing to be free are you willing to be healed are you willing to be given sight are you willing to to step out of the fearful self-focused crowd are you willing this day he said this scripture is fulfilled in your ears you would think the whole temple would have risen up and so my god we've been waiting for the messiah since the days of abraham and he's here you would think there would have been a rush forward to to an altar you you would think there would be a willingness among the people but they were driven back as it is by the ordinariness of the moment he looked to be he didn't he didn't fit what they thought God should look like and what they felt God was going to do and how they felt the messiah was going to come see that's why we we don't we don't walk where we're called to walk because we look in the mirror we say well this doesn't fit what I think God would do you see I'm just an ordinary man I'm an ordinary woman I'm I'm just an ordinary young person you see no God has a special elect an elite that he uses in the body of Christ see this doesn't fit and instead of going forward and saying I'm willing oh God almighty touch my life give me sight set me free put that treasure of Christ within me send me oh God you would think in that synagogue it's the it's the voice of the son of God himself speaking you'd think there'd be a a literal rush forward instead they rushed to lay hold of him and throw him off a cliff how dare you suggest that you have the power to set us free how dare you to suggest that you can heal us how dare you suggest that we are your witnesses on this earth and really that's the core of the heart that won't respond to the call of God how dare you suggest oh God that you would use me what a foolish suggestion if Esther and Nehemiah and Moses and Gideon had had that heart how it would have rewritten history people would have died in captivity their sons would have continued to be drowned in the river they would have starved to death under the encouraging the constant incursion of the Midianites they would have died in Esther's day under the law of death that had been written over the nation and in Nehemiah's day they never would have known who's in or who's out in the kingdom of God of that time the wall was a place of demarcation not only protection but demarcation of who actually resides where the temple is and who doesn't the people will be willing in the day of thy power but first the church must be willing you must be willing i must be willing to simply go the full distance of what God has called us to do and be to the fullest what God has called us to be not more not less but every one of us Corinthians says placed in the body as as the Holy Spirit has seen fit doing what we're called to do with giftings and callings to be able to do it some will speak on a national level and others won't but that really doesn't matter it's that all of us will be doing what we're called to do and what a marvelous day that will be and the people will be willing you ever wonder why in this generation in America that most of the country is really not willing to follow the church of Jesus Christ is it possible there's not much to follow is it possible we've taken a supernatural kingdom and made it a natural one and we've all stood in the house of God in unbelief looking for some new superstar to arise to preach the gospel for us we're willing to kind of support the superstar but not really go out ourselves no it's the day of God's power now I know it in my heart I'm not surmising this I know it I know it in my heart this is the day of God's power this this is the last this is the last call for America folks this is the day of God's power this this is the tipping point for this society this is the do or die moment for the church of Jesus Christ God's trying to wake up the sleepy church throughout this nation heat waves and calamities and fires and everything else that have to come collapse of state and local governments insufficient funds to maintain parks pick up garbage everything is focused on waking up the church of Jesus Christ we are the testimony of God in the nation we are the testimony of God and we're a supernatural testimony of God we're not a natural testimony we don't need diplomas and degrees to do what God's calling us to do we need a heart of faith we need willingness to say God in all of my frailty if you're calling me I'm going whatever door you open I'm going to go through it what you ask me to speak I will speak God all I ask is you put the love of Christ in my heart for this generation don't let me walk in arrogance don't let me be swallowed by unbelief and don't let me be overpowered by my enemies oh God almighty as Melchizedek came out of Sodom and blessed Abraham God almighty bless my life bless my home bless my family bless the house of God you have the right to pray that you have the right to ask it Lord bless me bless me with freedom bless me with vision bless me with strength bless me with direction oh God bless me with resources that have nothing to do with this world bless me with a calling oh God that I could never fulfill in my own strength that I will know it's you and you alone that is doing this inside of my life bless me oh God with fruitfulness oh Jesus that people will be forced to be compelled to come into the kingdom of God open my mouth oh God and fill it and give me words to speak and give me a heart to speak it with that will compel the listener to say whoever that person's God is is God I know that in my heart this is the day of God's power it's a moment perhaps unlike any other you and I will ever face in history we'll have to fight hell to go through this but heaven will be with us and when God is with us who can be against us oh there'll be voices rising against you in judgment be voices in your mind telling you this is foolishness there'll be frailty in your own heart there'll be people close to you saying this is ridiculous but I'm telling you got to press through all of this because that's the plan of God and that's always been the plan of God hallelujah to the lamb of God I know this because he chose me to do what I do today it's so far out of the box of my own ability I love it I'm like the guy in the back of the hall when the Lord takes away the talent from him that won't use it I'm the guy in the back waving his hand saying give it to me give it to me give it to me give me another opportunity to glorify your name give me another sermon to preach give me five more dollars to give to somebody who's hungry give it to me oh God give it to me Lord the question is are you willing are you willing to follow in the day of God's power that's the key are you willing to be free are you willing to go forward are you willing to be what God has called you to be and that's a question I can't answer for you this church can't answer it for you you have to answer it yourself it is the day of God's power I want to give an altar call this morning here in New York City and in Roxbury in the annex in people's homes where you're listening it is the day of God's power I've just come from Ireland hundreds hundreds hundreds of young people who are living on the street fighting with knives drug addicts hopeless cases are coming to Christ and you have to see how quickly they're getting free and the power of God that is coming upon them to be the evangelist to this generation it's truly amazing to be alive to see this day I have a vision for New York City that God would use you and I to do what he's always done to take to take everything in this city that that Satan himself has written off as completely in his camp and of no avail to the kingdom of God and say Lord save them and fill them with your Holy Spirit and send these as warriors to take on the gates of hell in this generation God Almighty I believe that he can and he will we're going to stand in just a moment we're going to worship and if you are if you're willing willing to say Lord make me free first I can't take a message to others that I'm not living take me out of my heart my pain my confusion my blindness and bring me into the freedom that Christ offers those that are his and then use me oh God to take this message that I have not only learned but experienced to others it is the day of God's power the people will be willing if the Lord is calling you today he's calling you and you're willing say Father I will I will go forward I will become what you're calling me to be I will speak when you call me to speak when asked as we stand together that you just make your way to this altar the front of this auditorium and the annex as well and we're going to speak and pray together thank God please let's stand just come the Lord's calling you just come those that have come to the altar would you just lift your hands in the sanctuary as well and just pray these words with me Lord Jesus Christ this is the day of your power and I am willing to be made free of all that would hinder what you've called me to be so give sight to my eyes is healing to my heart and freedom to my life and bless me oh God with the strength that only you can give to those of us who are called by your name help me to be willing this is the day of your power this is the day of your power and help me to believe that what you've called me to do will bring glory to your name and souls into your kingdom I believe this with all my heart and I thank you Lord that you haven't called me in my strength but you called me in my weakness that your strength might become my own and I thank you for it with all my heart in Jesus name hallelujah please let me pray for you just for a moment Lord God Almighty for those that have a heart to go after the captivated brothers and sisters I pray God that there come a touch of the Holy Spirit so powerful it'd be like nothing we've ever known Jesus Christ you gave your body and your blood that we might have power to be witnesses on the earth of this fact that you died to break the power and penalty of sin you made a way for heaven and you destroyed the lawful right of hell over the lives of those who have trusted in you Lord God we would ask this day that we might have the privilege as your people of truly glorifying your name on the earth Lord Jesus Christ flow through us and bring an awakening to New York City we don't ask just for ourselves Lord we ask for every church with every name that's on the door God Almighty we ask that you break into all of our places of captivity and give us life and give us all the power to fight in this generation for those that have no power to fight they've been taken captive give us the power Lord to fight for them the power that can only come from your hand and your heart it can't come from anywhere else it's not by might nor by power but by your spirit oh God and so Father in Christ's name I bless the people this day and I ask you Father in Jesus name give us strength give us freedom give us vision give us courage give us purpose give us eyes to see Lord what's of value give us hearts to believe when we have to face the deepest obstacles of our generation give us courage Lord beyond anything we might naturally have give us courage Lord to stand in the face of all opposition and to believe that this is the finest hour for the kingdom of God one more time Lord I ask you to do something so powerful in New York City the whole world will have to stop for a moment one last expression of mercy before all hell breaks out on this earth one last moment for men and women and children to reflect on their ways and to consider the ways of God but make it so clear so profound so powerful so glorious Lord a season Lord a moment in history when the agnostics the critics the skeptics the scoffers will have to stand speechless except for these words only God could have done this help us Lord Jesus Christ not to turn back help us Lord not to cower under the threats of the enemy help us to go forward and fight this good fight of faith in the strength of our Christ within us Father we thank you Jesus set so many people free from the power of sin that we will dance in the streets of New York City and we will give glory to a holy God hallelujah when the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of God will raise up a standard against it and we thank you for it Lord victory victory is ours hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah to the Lamb of God thank you Jesus thank you Lord thank you mighty God for victory give God a shout of glory in this house hallelujah hallelujah glory to the name of Jesus thank you Lord thank you God hallelujah hallelujah thank you Jesus what a glorious day awaits us thank God thank God to be alive in this generation thank you Lord thank you Jesus
