Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes the importance of devotion to Jesus through the lens of servanthood and the dangers of offenses within the church. He reflects on his recent trip to Scotland, where he witnessed the transformative power of prayer and the need for humility and reconciliation among believers. Using the story of the woman who anointed Jesus, he illustrates that true devotion comes from recognizing our brokenness and the love of Christ. Beach warns against the pride that leads to division and encourages a heart posture of servanthood, reminding the congregation that greatness in the kingdom of God is found in serving others. Ultimately, he calls for a return to heartfelt worship and a deeper relationship with Jesus.

As I was trying to say hello testing it just turned we just lost this to testing one two, all right Do it again, huh? It's so good to be back and to see everyone and How wonderful to Just enjoy the presence of the Lord and his love there is so much in my heart as You know, I just got back last night and Had a good flight the the The the plane was less than half full So it was lovely everyone had their own little Space where they could sleep. It was a quite a lengthy flight it was a little under eight hours as a result of the strong headwind that It was flying into so we had a good trip and everything got in Norman was there at the airport and We we got in a wrap We got in around Testing one two. There you go. We got in around 11 or 1130 at Finally got in at home around 1130 last night. So I praise the Lord for a safe journey and And My my where should I begin first of all, I want to say and I'm hoping that everyone will be able to truly Understand this the significance of your prayers That were offered up to the Lord on a number of occasions during the trip Have proven to be of Incalculable value The Lord moved in a most wonderful way and all the Saints there in Scotland Felt in a very real way the prayers and were persuaded that it was because of the prayers of the Saints along with the Abundant supply of the Lord Jesus Christ the spirit of the Lord Jesus That he walked into our midst and moved in such a powerful powerful way I'd like to Before I share just a few thoughts, you know, I have hundreds of hours of Fellowship with the Saints 17 days or so and so it would be highly impossible to communicate all that the Lord had done in our midst, but I Would like to just begin by opening up a scripture That we can turn to it's found in It's found in Let's turn to Mark let's turn to the gospel of Mark and I think that We'll be able to sum up everything that the Lord was after on this trip We're having a very difficult time with this microphone this morning So, please bear with us apologize, it's just the way electronics are Mark Chapter 14 Beginning in verse number 3 Mark chapter 14 beginning in verse number 3. Let's just bow our hearts for a few moments in the presence of the Lord Father we thank you and praise you for the Lord Jesus Christ We thank you Lord that he loves us so very much that he gave his life for us in order to pay for the penalty of our sins so that we can be free and Translated out of the kingdom of darkness and brought into the kingdom of your dear son the Lord Jesus Christ Thank you Lord that When we gather together in your name That you are truly there in our midst and we recognize you as Being here in our midst this morning and Lord We humbly pray that you would reach out and you would speak to us and you would touch us we look to you Lord We know that it is your hand alone that we need it is your touch alone and so we commit this next few moments into your hands and pray you'll take these thoughts and You'll take the word and you'll use it Lord to speak to us and to bring us into delightful communion and Delightful fellowship with you father. We pray for Jesus sake Amen beginning in that mark chapter 14 and being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper Jesus always finds Attraction to that which Doesn't have an appeal to the to man Simon the leper Simon the leper was a poor man Simon the leper was afflicted with leprosy Simon the leper was an outcast Simon the leper was foolish and Rejected and of no value in the eyes of the world But there Jesus was in his home the Bible says That the things which the world highly esteem are an abomination to God detestable to God When we get to know our Lord and Savior very deeply we find out that he is Attracted to the broken to the poor to the weak. He is attracted to those who are in need He's attracted to those who say Son of David son of David have mercy upon me The Lord has nothing to give to those who are well to those who are full to those who are comfortable in their religion to those who are comfortable in their religious traditions to those who feel that they're Doing enough for God and that their service for God is is Sufficient the Lord has nothing for such a heart But he's attracted and he's looking for the broken Those who like Peter Cry out depart from me Lord for I am a sinful man What I saw for 17 days in Scotland was the Savior walk among lepers Lepers No, not literal lepers But those who recognize their need for him those who were very hungry very thirsty Those who have had a religious tradition that is impeccable Their theology is impeccable those in their midst who were bearing the responsibility of preaching and teaching Could out preach and teach me in Ways that I could never imagine brilliant men With skills to articulate the letter and I emphasize the letter of the word That would cause anyone to marvel But they had forgotten That it was all an end in itself and not a means to him In all of their religious activity and in all of their tradition they forgot him and So this is what we saw the Lord Jesus walk in our midst and make us to see That Christianity was all about him Let me ask you a question this morning before we read Are you keenly aware this morning? That it's all about him and watch what happens We saw this This very scripture come to pass He was in that Simon the leper as he sat at me there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious and She broke the box Poured it on his head and There were some of them that had indignation within themselves and said why was this waste of the ointment? ointment made for it might have been sold for more than 300 pence and have been given to the poor and they murmured against her and Jesus said Let her alone Why trouble ye her she hath wrought a good work on me For you have the poor with you always and whosoever will You will you may do them good, but me you have not always She hath done what she could she has come a forehand to anoint my body to the burying Verily I say unto you listen carefully Where so ever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world This also that she hath done Shall be spoken of for a memorial of her Now it seems to me that in our religious traditions. We forgot something didn't we? We seem to be quite quite Insistent that we celebrate the Lord's Supper Because Jesus commanded us to But how often do you hear on a regular basis? The story of this woman as a remembrance of who? her very infrequently Luke chapter 7 Luke chapter 7 verse 36 and One of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him and he went into the Pharisees house and sat down to meet and Behold a woman in the city, which was a sinner when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisees house brought an alabaster box of ointment and Stood at his feet behind him Weeping And began to Wash his feet with tears and wipe them with the hairs of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment Now when the Pharisees which had been in him saw it He spoke within himself saying this man if he were a prophet would he have known who in what manner of woman This is that touches him for she is a sinner. Oh The wretchedness of having a blind eye And Jesus answered said unto him Simon I have somewhat to say to thee Listen carefully And he said master say on There was a certain creditor which had two debtors and the one owed 500 pence and the other 50 that would be like one man owes $1,000,000 and another man owes $10 and When they had nothing to pay He frankly forgave them both Tell me therefore which of them will love him most Simon answered and said I suppose that he to whom he forgave most and he said unto him thou has rightly judged And he turned to the woman and said unto Simon See us thou this woman listen Jesus is standing in our midst and he's saying the same thing to us this morning See us thou this woman Do you see this woman? Now watch what Jesus says about this woman I Entered into thine house thou gavest me no water for my feet But she hath washed my feet with tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head Thou gavest me no kiss but this woman Since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet My head with oil thou didst not anoint But this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment Wherefore I say unto thee her sins which are many are forgiven for she loved much But to whom little is forgiven the same loveth Little this account is also found in Matthew, which we won't turn to and in Luke and While before the Lord this morning Saying O Lord, what can be said about what my eyes beheld? While in Scotland walking among these dear Saints what can be said what can be said And the Lord very clearly and very wonderfully Spoke into my spirit and said Speak of this woman and tell the dear Saints that while in Scotland those Who did not wash my feet with her tears Washed them and those whose hair had never wiped my feet Had wiped my feet and those who never anointed my head with oil behold They anointed me and those who never Kissed me behold They never ceased from kissing me What happened? Jesus walked in our midst and He brought the revelation of himself so deeply into our hearts and into our lives That the cold External formal religion crumbled and Our eyes began to see That it's all about this woman And what she did and I say unto you That wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world this woman shall be spoken of as a remembrance of who her she Got it, right She got it, right verse 44 See thou this woman Look at this woman this morning beloved Jesus is speaking to us right now. See thou this woman Do you see her an? alabaster box of ointment spikenard spikenard in the scripture is a fragrance That Represents heart Devotion and worship listen heart devotion and worship that ascends out of brokenness out of being crushed and So what this woman did is she? anointed Jesus the head and the feet with this ointment She focused The deepest kind of affection and worship upon the person of the Lord Jesus Christ listen Simon see thou this woman I Entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet But she hath washed my feet with tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head When Jesus enters your house beloved What do you do? When was the last time you washed his feet with your tears and then wiped them? with your hair Let me tell you something beloved listen John the Beloved Apostle perhaps one of the closest to the Lord The Bible speaks of John as having laid his head upon Jesus's breast Was a good place to put his head, huh listen to what John said in his gospel he said When he spoke of himself Listen he said the one who loved Jesus no He said the one who? Jesus Loved do you know the secret to deep devotion and? Worship and adoration and praise to God coming to see Jesus loves me this I know For the Bible tells me so the devotion of this woman sprung out of Recognizing that in spite of Of all of her sin and all of her wretchedness Jesus loved her and out of that love sprung a devotion and a worship that Manifested itself by the washing of his feet and by the right wiping of his of his feet with his hair and Jesus also says here Thou gavest me no kiss verse 45 this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet Let me say dear beloved in love that All that we do Is of no value to God when we have lost sight of Of this woman and our hearts are No longer in the place That this woman Demonstrates in the scriptures the sum of Christianity is living every day in this posture Kissing him loving him Having our tears anoint his feet and our hair wiping his feet and loving him and worshiping him and falling down at his feet and adoring him and so if we do whatever we're doing and Miss this We've missed it all Where is your heart? This morning Where is your heart this morning? My head with oil vowed disanoint, but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment Where are you this morning when I Arrived in Scotland I Did not have any knowledge of what was going on I I had asked Ian before I got there through email and then affirmed it when I arrived That I would feel it would be far more profitable Not to discuss any matters that were going on among the Saints that we would be ministering among But rather to come as an objective brother In order to speak what God puts in my heart into the lives of the people so that God alone could be glorified What had happened when we got there was that Immediately upon our first gathering within Ian's home There was a mighty mighty mighty demonstration of the presence and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ resulting in the entire house being filled with weeping and repentance and Restoration the softening of hard calloused hearts the renewing of love and passion for Jesus, but most importantly the Reconciling of brother back to brother and sister back to sister And this went on for probably ten days And every time we gathered The Lord would move in our midst in a most remarkable way And then after ten days or so I began to discover That there had been a grievous and dreadful care schism split Among the Saints that I was ministering to Over some misunderstandings and over some disagreements about some very unimportant non-essential things and this terror had brought such a breach and hearts were filled with unforgiveness and bitterness and resentment Toward one another and when I had arrived and prior to our arrival and while praying over Allen's house the few nights before The Lord had put a word into my spirit And that is the word of Reconciliation healing putting back together that which was broken and so that's The posture that the Lord took as we gathered together unto him He walked in our midst as the healer and the restorer But do you know what he had to do through the power of his Holy Spirit? He had to humble He had to lower the high mountains of pride He had to lower the high mountains of I'm not gonna say I'm sorry because it wasn't my fault You're right. I'm wrong. I'm right. You're wrong You know where that's gonna lead you beloved in a dry and barren land And if there's a relationship right in your life now, listen brother This is the spirit if there's a relationship in your life right now That's been broken and you know it and it's based on I'm right. You're wrong. You're right I'm wrong and that terrible dreadful thought I'm right. You're wrong. You're right I'm wrong is dividing you if you if you don't humble yourself and get beyond that realm for the sake of love in Jesus Christ and Humble yourself and forget about who's right and wrong. You are going to be in a dry barren land for the rest of your life There are so many breaks and divisions in our hearts toward one another based on that dreadful reasoning of I'm right and you're wrong and So as we gathered the first gathering we had I'm telling you it was incredible It was incredible. I know when I got back from Waco I said I had never seen anything like the glory of God come down, but now I'm saying it again I never saw anything like it It was a wave of glory that swept over the room and there was sobbing and weeping And people and this is unheard of within these brethren churches unheard of and people began to weep and brother began to embrace brother and sister began to embrace sister and Older Saints began to embrace younger Saints and younger Saints came and humbled themselves and confessed their sins and running out pouring of the Spirit of God the glory of God was present And Jesus was breaking down pride and uprooting the seeds of the wicked one That had been planted in the heart the seeds of jealousy and the seeds of pride and the seeds of Contention and the seeds of anger and the seeds of resentment they had gotten to where they were It was so baggy and told me that when they would see Each other in a store. They would literally turn and walk the other way brothers and sisters so bound and trapped By this terrible terrible unforgiveness and resentment and So as we gathered the Lord began a great work of humbling and pride and Ian again, I had no idea what was going on, but Ian began to see the Lord do What he later told me he felt was frankly impossible frankly impossible Because he saw how deeply deeply deeply This resentment and bitterness and division had crept in among these Saints, but Jesus stood in our midst and through his power and his love He began to bring healing and Restoration and so I This is the first time I ever did this I actually took a journal of every day of Every day here, and this is my journal, and I read through it last night and this morning, and I realized that Basically the the gist the summary of the entire journal of all the pages here of every day The account of all the people we visited and what happened has one essential Theme and that is this we gathered He appeared We fell down at his feet He healed our hearts from the things that weren't right and he put a song in our heart That's it That's what happened Jesus came on the scene and He transformed our lives Turn your Bibles if you would please to Luke chapter 17 Now it's about I don't know if my watch is still 10 minutes fast is it 1149 on your watches 37 for okay, so I'm 12 minutes fast, okay Just for a short time, please please I beg you to listen to the Spirit of God Brothers and sisters would were blessed because the Lord is in our midst One of the great recoveries that the Lord is making among these dear Christians in Scotland It hasn't really come into their formal meetings yet though which is when they gather on Sunday, but it's happening in the homes and One of the recoveries that the Lord is making is this Jesus is always in the midst of our gathering and He's there so that we will recognize him and let him Minister his life to us. I'm going to speak for a few moments on What I believe the Lord has shown me to be one of the greatest Hindrances to the free flow of his life and Blessing and spirit that he wants to flow through our lives. I Want to ask a few questions before I get into this how many here won a living? vibrant Relationship with the Lord Jesus like this woman where your heart is moved with tender love and devotion for him Because he loves you because you recognize what he has done It's all because you see all that he has done your eyes are off yourself Now your eyes are off your service your eyes are off an attempt to try and serve God an attempt to try and be a good Christian based on your good works and all of your devotion and all of the things you're doing There's a place for that, but your eyes are off that You don't even think about those things as you get close to the Lord You want a heart and a devotion that is springing out of a vision of him and what he's done He loves me In spite of my sin in spite of how black I am Remember at the very beginning of the song of Solomon What was the revelation that she got when she began to be? Delated by the kisses of his mouth and she began to be drawn by his by his wine the oil of his wine She said I am black In other words, she saw in his light. You see when we walk in his light We see ourselves for what we really are But in spite of how black and how dark and how wretched and poor and miserable we are He loves us. That's the good news and theologically these folks had this or they've got the theology down, but they Didn't have the reality of it and that's something else The Lord began to bring forth through life through the ministry of life and that was the reality And he loves us. And so how many share that desire to want to be like this woman? Who Jesus said was to be mentioned whenever this gospel was preached in all the world Okay Listen carefully. We'll discover something here Then said he under his disciples it is impossible that offenses will come offense is something that leads an offense is something that leads to the fall or spiritual ruin of either you or another person listen carefully an Offense is something that leads to the fall or spiritual ruin of you or someone else Now here's what Jesus said It's impossible that offenses will come but woe unto him for whom they come Sorry, yeah Yeah Yeah, that's all right. No, it was what Jesus was saying. Is that Offenses are inevitable They're going to happen But Jesus was very concerned about offenses now. Listen, this is not theology This is I don't want to teach a theology lesson. Now. I don't want us to miss What's happening now what the Spirit is saying? Jesus is introducing something about his heart right now. What he's basically saying is this People are continuously Stumbling and falling but you had better be so very careful This is Jesus speaking to you and I and to his disciples You have better be so very careful that you don't fall into this trap Don't fall into this trap verse 2 it were better for him that a millstone were hanged upon his neck and He cast into the sea than that. He should offend one of these little ones And Jesus is demonstrating here that to offend someone to cause him to stumble To cause their spiritual ruin to cause their spiritual decline is so bad Jesus is saying that it's better for that person who's causing an offense to tie a Millstone around his neck and to cast himself into the sea and go down to the bottom and drown Then to cause a little one to stumble to cause a little one to fall Offenses Are dreadful and it happens in the world all the time, but Jesus is saying it ought not to be happening in the body You see Satan's so the big offense Among these Saints and people were stumbling and falling some of the Saints were so offended they were backsliding One of the young they were just young Christians one of the young brothers When we first talked with him said in tears, I feel my old life coming back. I feel the anger I had I want to go out and get drunk He said I'm being impatient with my wife And he he went on to say that he just feels like leaving the church and every one to the man that caused that offense and Under the man that caused it and wouldn't humble himself and beg his brother for forgiveness How could we hold on to an offense and know that it's sending our brother into spiritual ruin How can you hold on to an offense how can you hold on to a grudge to unforgiveness to anything? Knowing that it's breaking the fellowship. It's breaking the it's causing a breach Husbands wives, how can you hold on to anything that you know is bringing hurt? This is what Jesus was saying Now watch Take heed to yourselves You know what that means It means pay attention real carefully listen pay attention Now now listen, I don't want anyone to stumble listen carefully not to what you see in the mirror You know, we're paying too much attention to what's outward aren't we and We're ignoring the real issue of the matter, which is what's going on inside We can dress up and look so good outwardly. We can even say the right things and have the right Theology but inwardly our heart is full That's how they say in Scotland. I started saying it toward the end. They don't say fool. They say fool fool F you fool You feel of God today. Are you sure of God? But our hearts are full of wretched things So take heed to yourselves brothers and sisters Pay attention to what's going on on the inside Beware of the age that we live in brothers and sisters for the age that we live in spends money in and the conscience the matter of the attitude And this is crept into the church And now in the church we find people Who are more concerned about how they look outwardly than the condition of their own heart before God and the condition of their heart before their brother and sister and they would gladly go for months or even years with grudges and Unforgiveness in their heart toward one another but yet they would never neglect the shower They would never neglect to put the makeup on they would never neglect to have a nice haircut How can we do that, how can we do that in the name of God I ask how can we do that Saints Oh Satan subtle isn't he an enemy has done this an enemy has come into our midst and deceived us But there is one who stands in our midst and he's committed To make these things known Take heed to thyself Now watch this if thy brother trespassed against thee rebuke him and if he repent forgive him and if he trespassed against thee seven times in a day and Seven times in a day turn again to thee saying I'll repent thou shalt forgive Him So Jesus just got done talking about the dangers of offending and he was saying don't you be Responsible for offending. Let me tell you something brother any form of unforgiveness any form of bitterness any form of Resentment in your heart toward a brother or sister is an offense in our midst It's an offense and It is causing a breach in the spirit a break You know how it is if I have resentment against my brother Norman Oh, I might come and shake his hand and and you know small talk. So what's new Norman? And we make it our occupation to engage in small talk one with another but yet the heart never gets dealt with And so I might chat with Norman for 30 minutes and leave but the Lord's grieved and you wonder why it's because There's something in the heart that needs to be dealt with and we're just avoiding the issue by all this small talk We've mastered that skill in this country Jesus is saying but in my kingdom don't let it be like that Now watch this watch The Apostle said to him Lord Increase Our faith you see what they were saying. Oh Lord. This is a hard saying. This is incredible Lord, we need faith. We need faith for this We need faith to be able to believe that we can be free from offense and that we can be free from offending people Lord, we're so prone to Misunderstandings in the hearts. We're so prone to human feelings Lord increase our faith and now As we begin to close listen carefully For I want to ask a question Who would join along with the Apostles right now and say this? Yes, Lord Increase my faith Help me to see these help me to lay hold of this truth Help me to live so that I'm not causing offense or that I'm not being offended in any way How many would like that most of us would raise our hand if not everyone But because Jesus Loves us so much He immediately in his response to his own disciples wanting more faith now see we have here We have the desire of faith Increase our faith. That's good. It's good that you want faith Because faith is the access into everything that God has for us It is by faith through grace that were saved it is by faith that we receive sanctification Christ himself it is by faith that we receive healing the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up And if he have committed any sins, they shall be forgiven him You see faith is the key Into which we obtain all the crisis secure for us on the death of his cross Calvary's Hill So it's good the desire for faith is good faith is the access And we know Christ himself is the source of our faith looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith So we know it's good to desire faith We know that faith is the access into all that God has for us and we know Jesus is the author of our faith But Jesus masterfully in the next few verses reveals The reason why the disciples Had so little faith and if you are prepared to listen to the Spirit of God speak to your heart God will give you the desire of your heart if that's more faith now listen carefully verse 6 The Lord said if you had faith as a grain of mustard seed So Jesus is listen. All you need is a teeny-bitty faith, and here's what it'll do You might say unto this Sycamine tree be thou plucked up by the root and be thou planted in the sea and it should obey you So he tells him that faith Little faith will do great things But Which Which of you Now stop right now now he's personalizing it now he's dealing with a heart problem This heart problem that he's about to deal with is the cause of why they have no faith Watch what he says, but you All right immediately now imagine yourself you right now you say your name to yourself you Imagine you Have a servant plowing or feeding cattle will you say to him by and by when he has come from the field go and sit down to eat and Will not rather say to him make ready wherewith I may sup and Gird thyself and serve me Till I have eaten and drunken and afterward thou shalt eat and drink Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him. I think not Here's what Jesus is saying then we're gonna read the last verse Jesus is saying imagine you have your own personal servant your own slave He was out plowing and he was out working. Would you say to him? Oh, come on in and take a shower and get yourself ready and Sit down and have a bite to eat. No. No if he was your slave You would say all right now. I want you to get some food and prepare it for me I'm gonna sit out at the dining table here And I want you to serve me and I want you to put all the portions out on the table and when I'm done then You can eat and drink So if you were the master and you had a servant he would serve you This is what Jesus is getting at Then after the servant does everything that he's supposed to does he thank the servant? No, I think not Verse 10 so likewise you when you shall have done all those things which are commanded you say we are Unprofitable servants we have done that which was our duty to do How many are hearing what Jesus is getting at right now? Lord increase our faith Listen carefully to what I'm about to say He that desires increase of faith must decrease Do you want great? Do you want great faith? Then you must pray that God will do a work in your life so that you will seek no higher Or loftier place than that of a servant among your brothers and sisters The problem with these disciples was they were still walking down the street arguing over who was going to be the boss They were still arguing over who was going to be on his right hand and who was going to be on his left They were still arguing over who's going to get the credit for the world They were still arguing over who was the smartest and who was the one with the most power They were still striving within them the hearts Competing with one another that's why they had zero faith and Jesus in his love said if you want more faith If you want to be able to grasp the things that I'm teaching you if you want to be able to be great in the kingdom Of God then you have to be reduced from seeing yourself as master to slave You are not masters. You are slaves. You are servants one of another and Jesus said if I being your master if I being the Lord of glory said of myself the Son of Man did not come to Be served but to Serve if he being our Lord and master serves how much more should we? Is he not the great servant behold my servant mine elect whom my soul delights in Isaiah chapter 42 is he not the great servant. He's the Lord of glory He's the king of kings He was the total son of God who was sat on the royal throne of heaven for all eternity And what did he do did he come down and speak words of power and authority and not get his hands dirty No, he emptied himself And he became the servant of humanity not only did he become servant, but he became sin He knew no sin became sin. No, I didn't say he sinned He did not sin. He became sin. He became your sin He not only served you he not only washed your feet in my feet, but he took your sins and my sins That's what sent him to the cross He took your punishment He took my punishment And he calls us To be like him. Do you know why there's so little faith? in our lives because because We yet aspire To be something greater than a servant than a servant testing We aspire to be something greater than a servant Within our families with our brothers and sisters and we very seldomly look to see what we can give But rather what can we get What can we get from this church? What can we get from my brothers and sisters? But who among us is? broken and weeping Because their eyes have seen the great servant the Lord Jesus Christ and they've been captured by the vision greatness in the kingdom of God is To have a heart like his How many have seen that? So likewise when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you Who are unprofitable servants Brothers and sisters all that we ever do is because of him And never ever ever can anything that we do ever ever ever spring out of a desire To be commended by men Never could it result Lord in us wanting to Take the credit But it's got to be a heart Fashioned by his grace and love so that we realize it's all by thy grace Lord We are unprofitable servants We have done that which was our duty to do and so For these closing moments, I Want to read the words of a song That I recently heard and I feel they reflect right now What God would want us to pray? in these moments in his presence When Jesus is walking in our midst Humble me Oh God help me to be in a right place with you Where I look on you forever by your grace and to see you for who you are a Holy God full of love Full of Love for me a Loving God full of mercy In your will is where I want to be Humble me. Oh God Help me to be right with you Where I look on you Forever by your grace and to see you for who you are a holy God full of Love full of love for me a loving God full of mercy in your will Oh God is where I want to be brothers and sisters There is no way to receive a servant heart without receiving the servant Himself the Lord Jesus Christ If you are if you have been enticed and you have been drawn by God's spirit this morning You want your heart to be softened you want to be free from callousness you want to be free from hardness You want to be free from the spirit of this age? You want that devotion that Mary had you see all these things tie together? The devotion that Mary had sprung out of the fact that she didn't see herself as a master as a lord She saw herself as a servant not worthy But yet recognizing she was the object of his infinite love If you want that this morning then I With great joy am able to tell you that you can find it only in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ He alone can teach you The way of a servant and so the question this morning is this Will you listen? to him Will you listen as he calls you? Will you listen? As he bids you come to me Let's bow our hearts for a few moments in prayer
