Sermon Summary
K.P. Yohannan shares the transformative story of Paul, a man who, after years of seeking solace in alcohol and drugs, found himself contemplating suicide. Just before taking that final step, he read about Jesus Christ and decided to call on His name as a last resort. In that moment of faith, Paul experienced an overwhelming peace and a new life, realizing that through Jesus, he could be forgiven and delivered from his past. Yohannan emphasizes that the name of Jesus holds power to grant peace, deliverance, and eternal life to all who believe. The sermon calls listeners to embrace the name above all names and the hope it brings.

The Name Above All Names (Part 3)
The Truth that Prevented Suicide Paul, a native of Chavara, Kerala, is a family friend of mine. Now he lives in Rajasthan, with his wife and two children. He was a journalist once, but his life was filled with miseries and sorrows. He started seeking happiness in alcohol and drugs. But those things did not give him happiness and his life was unchanged for years. He concluded that he would never get peace and happiness in this life. He started thinking about suicide. He bought a bottle of poison and before consuming it, he wrote letters to his family and to the police. Before he ended his life, he happened to read an article which talked about Jesus Christ. He said to himself, “To find peace in my life, I traveled to all the places, prayed to all gods, but in vain. Now I will call on Jesus’ name as a last try. If Jesus is my Savior, if He died on the cross, was buried and resurrected, then he should forgive all my sins, give me peace, and remove my guilty conscious.” The moment he said these words, his life changed. His heart filled with peace. He got a new life. How to Find Peace If we believe in Jesus, the Lord promises that He will give everything we ask for. The name of Jesus is given to all of us. When a person believes in God and becomes His child; he is delivered from Satan. He is no longer cursed or under the work of Satan. He is a member of God’s kingdom. This is possible because we know that Jesus Christ was crucified and died for us, was buried and resurrected after three days and sits on the right hand of the Father. In history, many people died for their country or for good deeds. But Jesus is the Son of God who created everything. This Creator took the image of His creation. To forgive our sins, He died and on the third day he was raised from the dead. Not only that, He is now our mediator in heaven. The name of Jesus is above all names. God became human. The holy man became sin. His relationship with God was removed. “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” he cried out in a loud voice as He carried all the sins of the world on the cross and died. But the Lord opened the chains of death and resurrected him. From death, He rose again. For those who believe in Jesus, He promises eternal life, peace and happiness. Are you ready to receive all these things?
