What would you say your goal in life is? If it's to please the Lord, then 2 Timothy 1 is a good place to turn, to help you fulfill that calling. It underscores the qualifications and qualities that God is looking for in His servants. So, let's head over there now as we join Brother K.P. Ohannon on the Road to Reality. Secondly, Paul says in chapter 1, verse 3 and 5, if you notice there, I thank God whom I serve as my fathers did with a clear conscience. As night and day, I constantly remember you in my prayers. I have been reminded of your sincere faith which first lived in your grandmother, Lois, and in your mother, Eunice, and I am persuaded now lives in you also. The second factor about this Christian worker is integrity, sincerity, maintaining clear conscience. Psalm 51, verse 6, surely, O Lord, you desire truth in the innermost parts. No mask, no pretense. Proverbs chapter 11, verse 3 says, the integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity or pretense. Paul affirms something about young Timothy. I admit he was young, he was sick, inexperienced, shy, introvert, running away, but there was something that was so amazing about Timothy. Oh yeah, there were a thousand strong, educated type of personality, aggressive, skilled, able, leaders, but Paul could not give the torch into their hand. Paul couldn't tell them, come, run this race, I'm going to be gone. No. He looked at a little, skinny, inexperienced, shy, timid little fellow. Why? I am convinced one of the greatest secrets of Timothy's life was his commitment to absolute integrity. Integrity of what? Of heart. Paul says in Philippians chapter 2, that famous scripture, there's no one like Timothy, all, all, Alice, everyone, sub, they all seek their own. There's something they're looking for, something, hidden agenda, some secret thing they have on their heart they're looking for. Yeah, they're full-time workers, they're Christian workers, they are this and that, but deep down their longing is some reputation, some recognition, some position, some money, some something, something, something, something. This is just a thing. But Timothy was totally transparent. There was no agendas, no secrets, just open plain book. Paul was one like that. Second Corinthians 2, 17, Paul says, unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God. Many, he says, are doing the ministry for something they can get, but not us. One Corinthians 4, 4, my conscience is clear. Paul speaks about himself. And then a powerful statement he adds, but that does not make me innocent, it is the Lord who judges me. You know what that means, my brothers and sisters? He did not shrink even from God putting the searchlight on his inner life and his thoughts and his actions. One prominent businessman one time said, if I had to name the one most important quality of a top manager, I would say personal integrity, personal integrity, trustworthiness. One, sincere in promise. Second, upright in finances. Third, faithful in discharge of duty. Four, loyal in service. Fifth, honest in speech. Think about that. A worldly secular businessman saying, if one quality that I want to pick of a good top manager, a leader, sincere in promise, upright in finances, faithful in work, loyal to the company, honest about what he says, she says. Questions again. In the area of speaking, using your tongue, yes, you say the right thing, what he said is true, what he reported is true, but with what motive? Why do you say what you say? Because of the conviction the Lord gave you to build, to strengthen, to help, or it was to put down someone, to condemn someone, to climb a ladder through somebody else's fall. You know one of the greatest problems in Christian work is gossip. You can stay in one place and assassinate somebody ten thousand miles away. I wrote a whole book about it. Gossip, which is poison, not any poison, but it is quite potent. It will kill you. You know, you wouldn't believe, I have some very sad regrets in my life. I feel so sad, I kick myself. And some of my saddest regrets of my little life, before Almighty God I testify to you, those regrets are decisions I made, opinions I formed, people I rejected, doors I closed because I believed, I listened gossip, because I believed and acted on things people said to me that are true, without thinking of love, forgiveness, reconstruction, rebuilding. Especially in leadership, it is fatal. It is fatal means deadly. So, last two, three years I made a covenant with my wretched self. When I say wretched self, that is what I am meaning. I will not make any decision on anything unless I know first hand, face to face, ask, investigate, even then I will not jump quickly and make decisions. You know why? So many people are hurt, so many friends are lost, so many opportunities that are lost, simply because I listen to people and don't think deep. Integrity. This movement will be destroyed not because lack of money or buildings or people. This movement will be destroyed. Your training center will be destroyed. Your co-workers lives will be destroyed. Children's future will be destroyed. You will ruin everything you touch, not because of lack of education, skill and infrastructure. It is going to be because lack of love and forgiveness that resulted from lack of integrity of the heart, especially in the area of evil talk, negative talk, gossip, lying about other people, maligning other people, imagination about wicked things about other people, cooking up stories about other people. Oh, my brothers and sisters, you must make a commitment before you leave this place. If nothing else, I make a covenant with my ears. I will not listen to negative things about other people. When people tell me, I will tell them, why are you telling me this? Go and talk to that person. Otherwise, I must know face to face first hand. Please, take it serious. Don't let demons creep in your life, your home, your ministry. Why do I say that? Paul said in Corinthians, we are not ignorant of his devices. Paul talked about negative talk about other people. That means, devil has opened door. All the demons still come as a flood when there is evil talk, negative talk, gossip, talking about other people. Even if they fail, it is none of your business to talk about it. Why you talk about it? God is not concerned about that. You keep your mouth shut. If you can fast and pray for the person, and if you talk, only talk to that individual or to someone in responsible position, that can help. May God change our nature, our behavior, our character, so we will not bring dishonor to this call the Lord gave us. And Lord, we ask that you will deepen our conviction about being authentic on the inside. In Jesus name, Amen. We've been receiving some lessons in leadership today on The Road to Reality with K.P. O'Hannon. Since 1999, GFA has been serving in the slums of South Asia, providing food, medical care, and sharing the love of God. In recent years, we've noticed desperation-filled slums in Asia are growing. With millions living in extreme poverty and struggling to survive, we'd like to ask you to consider doing something that can really make a difference. A good place to start is by going to our website, RoadToReality.org. There we can give you more information, and you can even donate to slum ministry there too. Again, that's RoadToReality.org. As you may know, when he was on earth, Jesus was all about helping the outcasts of society. And you can do the same at RoadToReality.org, or call us at 866-946-2742. That's 866-946-2742. Please listen in next time as Brother K.P. O'Hannon shares another inspirational message to help us along the Road to Reality.
