Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

And you still walk and these things still come on you and you wind up with the same sickness and diseases out there the world has out there and because you have such tunnel vision although all the diseases were healed when they sacrificed bulls and calves and that sort of thing. We just dumb and just receive all this stuff that we supposed to live with all these things. We've learned or put our confidence in men because men get educated and use intellect just like a lion's club and then we start boasting in what good things we're doing and let them come and lord it over God's heritage and then we learn to bow to men and bring men in honor men and then you learn to look to men. And then when you look at the men you're not being led by the spirit of God you're an idolatry and you get killed because you're walking on the law of God. So how do you so there's no hope for you in the world you're in spiritual darkness you think you're pretty good fellows you compare yourself with other people but then Jesus Christ came and number one he came to Calvary defeated the devil and threw the blood to the victory at Calvary and without the victory at Calvary there would be no place for these sins to go are you following me and because of Jesus and there's no other way of course traditions today and the powers of darkness to help lead them to set up demons trying to show you another way to build a tower in the heaven without going by way of the cross but because of the cross and because of the blood that Jesus Christ shed you have a place to repent of these things and get it on the blood now when you repent of criticism and hatred it goes on the blood and then when it goes on the blood God looks down and he no longer sees criticism and hatred in your life because you had a place of repentance amen well if I just say all of sin and come show it the glory of God and I still go practice hatred and criticism and rebellion let me ask you something now now study real hard before you answer had you repented no so you got religious and you still get to live with the frogs and you get killed just like they do down to the barbershop pool room now the place you just get destroyed I'll tell you something folks you can't be your reputation with the gospel it's gone it's all over because Lord has to have all your heart it don't work amen I'll tell you something folks I'm wanting to come down there it's too far but let me tell you something when you understand this you'll start going to Jesus amen and you'll also come to understand probably but the time that we can get through this meeting that the powers of darkness cooperate with teachings and doctrines that do not conform you to godliness so they can help build up the reputations and men so your heart will go to them and your problem is you don't have a love for the truth and you have to be born again through the Word of God and you're not born again through the Word of God you can't be born again through the Word of God unless you love the truth and if I've got my ticket punched over here one two three four and I do one two three four I don't have to love the truth I love my traditions or doctrines or whatever that's the ball in the way today so that's why in the last days that people's love now look at me people have these doctrines and teaches it's what we're being left I won't just share this with you before I started in these last days in these last days these things are in their life and we have smart intelligent folks to tell us that it's just all right you just stick and the reputations and character and nature of men are built to where they become first when your word says in the body of Christ they become life
