And know that this is not the Church of Jesus Christ in any case. Flip-floppers whose hearts are not steadfast with God. Now that's exactly what we need today. Steadfastness in our walk, in our faith, in the truth. Now my dear friends, let me ask you this question. Are you going to be steadfast this afternoon as you drive back? Are you going to stay in your side of the road? Or you think you're going to flip-flop across the center line? What have you decided to do? Flip-flop on your way home? You're not certainly not going to get home. You're not. Their hearts were not steadfast with their God. What a sad thing. What a sad thing. What does that show? Miracles and works in themselves don't make your heart steadfast. You need a relationship with Jesus. This is my Lord. There's no guile in his mouth. I am going to trust him, not just on Sunday morning, but on Monday morning. Now I'm going to ask as a bunch of people this afternoon this question. Now suppose you are given a choice and you had been selected to receive $200,000 this evening at a special presentation. Would you be here? I'm going to ask them. Would you be here or there would be just an empty place here? I would also tell them I fear there would be an empty place because, you know, in our workplace, we have got to be steadfast. We've got to perform or we lose the job. That's all. You see, you have to perform. Otherwise, the company goes belly up. And so no company is going to entertain you when you sit there twiddling your thumbs and are talking your head off. Now they want a person to perform. All right. So at your place of work, you have to be steadfast whether you like it or not. When it is a course of study in the university, it's the same. You have to be steadfast till the exam is over, till you have passed. You have got to stay with those books. You've got to be steadfast. So I suppose the only place where you will not be steadfast is in your relationship with God. Is that right? So God is the least and God is the last in all your relationships. And it's only when you're in real trouble that you will turn to him. No, no, no. We love him because he first loved us. It is a love linkage. It is a love relationship. It is a covenant of blood. We will not stray. We will not swerve. We will not deviate. This is a covenant made with the precious blood of Jesus. So Jesus wept over that. Folks, let us not get Jesus to weep over any one of us. No. After all, we have one chance to please him. And the record that was given from heaven, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Now let us also receive that commendation. Let us pray. Let us tell God, Lord God, forgive all my flip-flopping, all my unfaithfulness. I can't shout Hosanna today and crucify him tomorrow. Never, never. Lord, here is my heart. It's a blood-bought covenant. I won't break this covenant. Cleanse me. Wash me in the blood. Establish me in righteousness and in your covenant. And save me from this wavering heart that I may be steadfast before you. Precious Lord, all our deviations and detours, all our digressions and foolishness, all our Sunday lip services which we performed and Monday denials, forgive us, forgive us. And let us be established in our love, in our obedience. I have decided to follow Jesus, the world behind me, the cross before me. Please, Lord, help us. We beg you in Jesus' holy name. Amen.
