Hello again. We hope you can set aside the next quarter hour as we unveil some wonderful lessons in leadership here on the Road to Reality. As K.P. O'Hannon takes us to Second Timothy 1 today, we'll spotlight the character of a worker or servant of God. I think you'll find it helpful as you set out to fulfill your calling. Secondly, this call gives us absolute assurance. No matter what problems, setbacks, suffering, God will fulfill his plan in my life. No one can destroy you. No one can stop you. Yes, his brothers may throw him into the pit, sell him to the Egyptians. Yes, he may end up in the dungeon. Yes, years may be lost, but no one can stop his brothers bowing down, and 43 years he must be the Prime Minister of Egypt, life of Joseph. No one can stop. That is already determined, decided. Don't you be afraid. Thirdly, it gives motivation to go on. Motivation is not salary, benefits. No, he will care about me. Bassak has this significant illustration. There's a nurse. She's a gifted, able nurse. She goes to the hospital, sits by that baby's bed, takes care of the baby, feeds and gives medicine, but five o'clock comes, she takes off, going back home. It is a profession. It is a salaried job, but the mother of the baby, she sits there night and day, can't take a bath, will not go anywhere, just watch us over. Her little baby, that is her calling. The difference between someone who is called, who has ownership. It is mine. It is my Jesus kingdom. It is my, my, my burden. If they gave me salary, no problem. If they didn't give, no problem. I don't care. Now, look at me with your eyes and your ears. If your salary is stopped, if your benefits is no more, if nobody gives you any engagement through any material things, I want to ask you a simple question. Will you continue the journey by walk and say, I will keep on going as long as I can go and when I fall and die, I have finished my job? Is a fancy talk? No, sir. I'm asking you, I'm honestly asking you, what is your response? So, you say, what this has to do with character of a servant of God, a Christian worker? Well, everything to do with it. The bickering, the murmuring, the squabbling, the jealousy, the arrogance, the comparing with somebody else and all the internal strife and trying to get some money from that commission, this commission, doing this and that, all the agendas, how many hundreds are destroyed along the way, rationalizing, justifying their behavior, their character totally fall and flawed. But one that knows he is called by the Lord, act differently. Fourthly, what does this mean by being called and what does it do? That person will seek the Lord's approval. In the living Bible, chapter 1 verse 3, 2nd Timothy, Paul says, my only purpose in life is to please Him. No matter what, my only purpose in life is to please Him. Is that your goal? Is that what you want? I'm not asking about anything else. This is the compelling force in your life. The man who started the Moravian movement, their motto on their logo, it is inscribed these words, our lamb has conquered, let us follow him. And right in the middle of the seal, you will find a little lamb carrying the cross and a flag, the Moravian movement. They were known for being so radical that when they had one church at home in Germany, they had three overseas. The church was a fishing pond to send out missionaries. The man who started that movement, Count Sindendorf, he was strongly drawn to classical pursuits, art, music, painting, riches. And one day he was so gripped with the reality of Christ dying on the cross for him, he gave his life completely to Christ and felt his call to be a Christian worker. He wrote in his diary this statement, I have one passion, I have one passion, it is He, He alone. So, Timothy, please understand, you are called. I say to you, my brothers and sisters, you are called, not by me, not by anyone, you are called by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. For such a time as this, may your decisions, your emotions, your proceedings, your steps all be regulated, controlled by this thing. I am called by my Lord. I want to please Him. Secondly, Paul says in chapter 1 verse 3 and 5, if you notice there, I thank God whom I serve as my fathers did with a clear conscience. As night and day, I constantly remember you in my prayers. I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded now in you also. The second factor about this Christian worker is integrity. Sincerity, maintaining clear conscience. Psalm 51 verse 6, surely, O Lord, you desire truth in the innermost parts. No mask, no pretense. Proverbs chapter 11 verse 3 says, the integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity or pretense. Paul affirms something about young Timothy. I admit he was young, he was sick and inexperienced, shy, introvert, running away, but there was something that was so amazing about Timothy. Oh yeah, there were a thousand strong, educated type of personality, aggressive, skilled, able leaders, but Paul could not give the torch into their hand. Paul couldn't tell them, come, run this race, I'm going to be gone. No. He looked at a little, skinny, inexperienced, shy, timid, little fellow. Why? I am convinced one of the greatest secrets of Timothy's life was his commitment to absolute integrity. Integrity of what? Of heart. Paul says in Philippians chapter 2, that famous scripture, there's no one like Timothy, all, all, Alice, everyone, sub, they all seek their own. There's something they're looking for. Something, hidden agenda, some secret thing they have on their heart they're looking for. Yeah, they're full-time workers, they're Christian workers, they are this and about. Deep down, their longing is some reputation, some recognition, some position, some money, some, something, something, something, something. This is just a thing. But Timothy was totally transparent. There was no agendas, no secrets, just open, plain book. Paul was one like that. Second Corinthians 2, 17, Paul says, unlike so many, we do not peddle the Word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like men sent from God. Many, he says, are doing the ministry for something they can get, but not us. One Corinthians 4, 4, my conscience is clear. Paul speaks about himself. And then a powerful statement he adds, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. You know what that means, my brothers and sisters? He did not shrink even from God putting the searchlight on his inner life and his thoughts and his actions. One prominent businessman one time said, if I had to name the one most important quality of a top manager, I would say personal integrity, personal integrity, trustworthiness. We've been receiving some lessons in leadership today on The Road to Reality with K.P. O'Hannon. Since 1999, GFA has been serving in the slums of South Asia, providing food, medical care, and sharing the love of God. In recent years, we've noticed desperation-filled slums in Asia are growing, with millions living in extreme poverty and struggling to survive. We'd like to ask you to consider doing something that can really make a difference. A good place to start is by going to our website, RoadToReality.org. There we can give you more information, and you can even donate to slum ministry there too. Again, that's RoadToReality.org. As you may know, when he was on earth, Jesus was all about helping the outcasts of society. And you can do the same at RoadToReality.org, or call us at 866-946-2742. That's 866-946-2742. Please listen in next time as Brother K.P. O'Hannon shares another inspirational message to help us along the Road to Reality.
