Joining his father’s ministry in 1954, he led Laymen’s Evangelical Fellowship from 1963, headquartered in Chennai, growing it to hundreds of centers across India, Cyprus, Guyana, and London. Known as the “boy revivalist,” he authored Faith Is the Victory and delivered thousands of sermons, aired on TV and radio in multiple languages, focusing on salvation and revival. Married to Lily, they had three children, including John, who succeeded him. His annual retreats at Beulah Gardens drew 7,000-9,000, emphasizing prayer and holiness. Sermon Transcription
Forgive us, morally irresponsible people. We proclaim Christ the Sinless died for me. But alas, that kind of spirit is not in us. Forgive us, O Lord. Forgive me, O Lord. These sheep, in the outing, what have they done? O God, O Deva, these sheep, in the outing, what have they done? It is my sin. I have not relayed the life of Jesus. I have not projected Jesus. My talents, my bigness, Forgive me, O Lord. Forgive my foolishness. Forgive my vanity. Forgive my pride. Let Jesus be seen. O loving Father, we humble ourselves before you. We humble ourselves before you. This revival should have reached every corner. This revival should have reached every corner of the world. O God, Our foolishness and vanity has stood in the way. Forgive me, O God. And I have failed much. I have failed much. I have failed much. Forgive me, O God. So many sins of omission. So many sins of omission. These sheep, in the outing, what have they done? Bad guidance, bad preaching, and bad have left grievous deficiencies in them and plagues in their families. Forgive us, O Lord. O gracious Savior, give us humble hearts. Give us the heart that comes from Calvary. We ask in Jesus' holy name. Amen.
