Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the speaker emphasizes the importance of living a purposeful life as a child of God. He encourages the audience to rest in the love of God and not fear, as nothing can take them out of this world until they have fulfilled God's plan for their lives. The speaker also highlights the significance of Christ in the lives of believers, stating that for the natural man, Christ died; for the carnal man, Christ was crucified; and for the spiritual man, Christ is glorified. He urges the audience to strive for holiness and to live for Christ, as every life is either a blessing or a block to others. The sermon concludes with a thought-provoking question, asking what each person is living for and challenging them to consider the purpose of their lives in light of the sacrifices made by missionaries.

Greetings to each of you once again. It's a real joy to be here with you. I'm sure, I'm sure we're enjoying this season in a mutual kind of a way. Will you come with me tonight to the first chapter, Philippians chapter one. Paul and Demodios, the servants of Jesus Christ, all the saints in Christ Jesus which are prolific, with the bishops and deacons. Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for your all-making requests, your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now. Seem confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you, even as it is mean for me to think this of you all. Inasmuch as both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. For God is my record how greatly I long after you, that ye may approve, or rather that you may try the things that differ with a view to approving things, that ye may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ under the glory and praise of God. But I would ye should understand, brethren, so that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace and in all other places. Many of the brethren in the Lord waxing much more bold to speak the word with us. Some indeed preach Christ even of Indian strife and some also of goodwill. But one preached Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds. What then? Notwithstanding every way, whether in pretense or in practice preached, and I then do rejoice, gain and will rejoice. For I know that this shall turn to my salvation according to my earnest expectation and my hope. For to me to live is Christ. But if I live with the flesh, this is the fruit of their record. And having this confidence, I know, so neither of us know. Only let your conversation be as it is, and in nothing terrified by it, for unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, and now appear to be in me. Verse 16 is quite a fact. He gave his own. The gift of life eternal of salvation. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw in me, not only to believe on him, but also to say the same conflict which he saw for a life in the superlative degree. Colossians chapter 3 and verse 11, Christ is all and in all, our Christ is everything. And you will find Him everything for your objective consideration and for your subjective necessity to have Christ before the soul. Now certainly, it's going to be as the Apostle said, for to me, to live is Christ. Quite some time ago I said that, but now, you cannot live without Christ giving expression to His own person. But to me, He is the one, John Baptist is the one who said, He must increase, I must decrease. And it is said of John that in words, He decreased. When they came to inquire as to who He was, He says, I am not the Christ. Again He says, I am not. He increased in His words, and even as to His stature, or rather He decreased as to He likewise decreased as to His stature, for He said in verse 15 and verse 9, I am the least. Again, in Ephesians chapter 3 and verse 8, He says, unto me who am less than the least of all the saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable and the least? I am less than the least. And finally, He says, in that 1st Timothy chapter 1 and verse 9, this is a faithful saying, that as Jesus came into the world, He must increase, I must decrease. This same truth is again seen in the Song of Solomon. In chapter 2 and verse 16, my beloved is mine, He said among all of me and none of Christ. In chapter 6 and verse 3, I am my beloved. In chapter 7 and verse 10, I am my beloved. That the devil at the Garden of Eden, he had before him this particular thought. He wanted, or he desired that Adam and Eve should never know God as anything except a God of judgment. To know Him as a judge. And in the heart of God, consider Him, Christ is everything. For life is the first of all. Here with me, the person of Christ, as of power, we find essentially, in Him, was life. And the life was, the life of me. Life in Christ, essentially. That life is communicated to the individual believer. I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never, like, communicate it. That life is sustained, it comes from on high, it is sustained from on high. The fountain ever reaches upward, from which it came originally. And so the life that I possess as an individual believer, comes from God, sustained from the same, John chapter 6, and verse 57, he that eateth of me shall live. Thus the person of Christ, as of power, my friend, is trusting. Someone else has said, it isn't a changed life, but an exchanged life. Or, sometimes termed, the second blessing, perhaps, or something. But my friend, it is Christ living His own life through the believer by the power of the Spirit of God. The life is in Christ. As the vine cell flows through the vine, the leaves and the fruit are produced, is the breath. I am in Christ, and Christ is in me. Oh, let Him live His own life. Do you need patience in your life? The fruit, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, the fruit of the Spirit. This is Christ's life flowing through the believer by the power of the Spirit of God, as the power of life. Life is essentially a hymn that life communicated to the believer, that life sustained likewise from the source of life, His name in our foreheads, a perfect expression of Himself seen eternally. Read the three verses. And we know that all things worked together for good to them. To them were the call according to Him for whom He did foreknow. He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many, more of whom He did predestinate than He also called, and whom He called than He also glorified. Oh my, the purpose of God in relation to redemption, the same moral and spiritual thinking, is it beyond us? No, my friend, it is in relation to every believer. And this is life in the superlative degree. It's the best life. It's the only real life. Too many others know. Life filled with joy, exuberance of Christ is everything. He is all and in all. In Him is life, and I'm in Him. The more that the worship is present, to look upon His face, to muse of Himself, the exceeding greatness of Himself, this should be the most joyous occupation of any believer. Occupied with thee, Lord Jesus Christ, thou wilt show me the path of life. In thy presence is fullness of joy, at thy right hand there pleasure. Beyond us, is it just a dream? Is your life a dream? If it is, it's because you are trying. You're going to see that the furnace of affliction only takes away the dross that mars the gold. It is only a cleanser to take away the tarnish. Experience of life is so easy to see. Late at night, laying in the cancer institute, oppressed to death. I don't know what that's like. Many other things in life, I don't know what it's like. The love of God remains true and eternal. Real joy. Overcoming for the glory. For worship, for fellowship, for companionship, for stewardship. And stewardship is not only of money. Your pocketbook will follow. Her hand was opened because her home. So stewardship has to do not only with your tithe, but with your time and with your talent. And then leadership. For as leadership amidst the people of God is concerned, when there is the experience in the individual life of the presence of Christ, someone has best to practice it. To practice the presence of God continuously. Nothing will overcome it. Where God is, sin is not. Where sin is, God is not. The holy life is the happy life. And at the preeminence of Christ, of purpose, some Chinese were marching around as they had captured Him. They were boasting in the fact that they had captured Him. They were going to put Him to death. Burn Him at the stake. They marched around in rejoicing and so on. He stopped them. He said, I am dying for a cause. What are you living for? A missionary, reverend, or pleasure. A sincere desire that might provoke us to thinking. Every life is either a blessing or it can't be a blessing. We are before some soul. That soul is moving. We are either a blessing or a blot. Because we can't be situated, I suppose. The place of Christ as a prize. The apostle Paul speaks of three men, I believe, in the epistles of the Corinthians. He speaks of the natural man, the carnal man, and the spiritual man. For the natural man, the message is Christ died. For the carnal man, the message is Christ crucified. For the spiritual man, it is Christ glorified. The place of Christ. Occupation, glory above. There will be assimilation, glory within. Transformation, glory without. Resurrection, glory. Christ is everything. The presence of Christ. The preeminence of Christ. The perfection of Christ. The pattern of life. The place of Christ. God has said that you become what you're occupied with. In Leviticus chapter 11, God prescribes Israel's dire seed. And in it, I gather this for myself. What you heed upon, that is what you become. May we feast our eyes upon Christ in glory. By the Lord the Spirit, we are transformed into his image from glory.
