Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the preacher emphasizes the importance of studying the two witnesses in the book of Revelation to understand what God wants in his church and what constitutes true revival. The preacher emphasizes the need for personal transformation and growth in the word of God, highlighting that there should be a continual process of change in the lives of believers. The preacher also emphasizes that God works with a handful of people, often starting with just one person, to bring about great changes. The sermon also highlights the key verse of Revelation 10:9, which is seen as crucial to understanding the message of the two witnesses. Additionally, the preacher discusses the shift from the gospel of the kingdom to the gospel of heaven and emphasizes the importance of preaching the gospel of the kingdom to the whole world.

Revival, because these passages, A, portray the rise and fall of Antichrist, B, reveal the identity of the two witnesses, C, identify the true characteristics of the Lateran Revival. Now there's more homogeneity in that, that's not as apparent, the answer. Anyone want to take a shot at that? Now remember, the question is, help us, the idea is that if we learn more about the Lateran Revival, B, cause, that's the key to it, so what do you think? Huh? C, identify the characteristics of the Lateran Revival. Anybody have any other thoughts on that? That's true, and that's why we're studying it, because there's a lot of stuff starting up, there's the Reconstruction Movement, and the Faith and Prosperity are still going strong in some areas, and there's the Laughing Revival, and who knows what'll come next, but by studying these two chapters, we can look for some things that will characterize the Lateran. All right, true or false, first comes the Lateran Revival and the Gospel Witness, afterwards the reign of Antichrist and the Great Tribulation. True or false? False. True. Anybody say false? I think so. Okay, so that one is true, and by the way, Brian Wagner was telling me that he's meeting with the young people and starting to teach them about what we believe in this church, and I think that's tremendous, because there's an awful lot, I mean there's enough for a two-year Bible college. Boy, as soon as you touch one part of it, and this is no exception, this Revelation 10-11, whoa, as soon as you get into the First and Second Resurrection, and the Thousand-Year Kingdom Age, and what it means to be saved, oh man, it just hits the tip of an iceberg. So it's really, I don't know how to handle this material, so just pray for me, I don't want to do anything presumptuous. I wonder if the Lord can do it, as far as I'm concerned. It's just so overwhelming. All right, any further questions about Eddie's thing? Eddie is going to structure this class some, and Bill will be passing out tests at the end of this period, but they'll be easier than the other ones, they'll be more like these. Is that right, Bill? They'll be more like these, they won't be the essay type that were so very, very difficult. Okay, David, let's see, I think we're about ready for the second one. I think we've covered the first. Now we're going through Revelation chapter 10 and 11, saying that these will help us to recognize the latter rain revival, and did you know that even secular psychics and mystics are saying that the balance of this century, there will be a tremendous spiritual awakening? Not only in the church, but it's true of the mystics are saying that. So there's no question we're on the verge. I see everybody's wondering, what? You know, is it going to be the age of Aquarius, and everybody's going to get real raunchy, or just what? Okay, there's some things here we need to see. We talked about the mystery of God, and now for those in Capeland, we're looking at Revelation 10, verse 7 on the overhead, and the mystery of God is Christ in you. Christ in you. See, that hasn't been preached really stressed for 2,000 years. That's the Feast of Tabernacles. Christ in you. We're still talking about Christ with us, and Christmas is a celebration of the historic Christ. Easter is a celebration of the historic Christ, but the idea of Christ in us is something God once emphasized in our day. This is the way that God is moving. Remember at the last church, Laodicea, is where you find I stand at the door and knock if any man open the door. God is emphasizing Christ in you today. Christ in you. So it's going to be big news in the day in which we live. The young people will be coming more into this. Hear this emphasis. All right, this angel said, go take the little book we talked about. The little book has what significance? Yes, and where is that found? It's emphasizing that this revival will come with very humble beginnings. And by the way, someone requested of Lake Hamilton in Arkansas that they pray for me and for this church. Someone on the tape land. And so they said they've been corresponding for 14 years with Lake Hamilton, and Lake Hamilton has never answered them before until they asked that prayer request. And they had their noon prayer meeting, and they said, the Lord gave us Psalm 105 for Brother Thompson and his congregation. This is Lake Hamilton Bible camp in Arkansas. And I read Psalm 105, and I may have hit it on the head. It talks about Joseph and how he was in irons until he was tried. But it talks about a little group of people. A little group of people. And that they were going to be vindicated. And I mean, if they didn't hit it on the head, that prayer meeting. She said, that's the first time they've answered for 14 years. And there were some things that when I read it, the first half of it just leaped down. Verse 12, we're talking about a little book, you know. Listen to this. Saying, to you I will give the land of Canaan, this is Psalm 105, 11, as the portion of your inheritance when there were only a few men in number, very few, and strangers in it. And the other things, I don't know. There was other things in there that just leaped out at me. But it's about Joseph starting in verse 19, until the time that his word came to pass. The word of the Lord tested him. And then verse 21, he made him Lord over all his house and so on. Verse 24, he causes people to be very fruitful and made them stronger than their adversaries. Whoa, man, I read this. See, I didn't know what to expect. Because Lake Hamilton accused me of preaching that the devil would be saved. Can you imagine that? Crazy. I said, I don't believe that. Oh yes you do. Oh yes you do. So I never went back there. That's nuts. How do you get out of my preaching that Satan's going to be saved? I mean, it's crazy. But anyway, that's what Glenn Miller said to me. That's what you teach. So I quit carrying my books and I've never been back and everything. So I didn't know what to expect because this lady said, I'm going to factually reply. So I'm used to the garbage, you know, the basura. And man, I read that and I said, they hit it right on the head. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. So that's for Brother Thompson and his congregation. Psalm 105. It's a new prayer meeting a week ago in Arkansas. And I didn't like those apples. So you want to read that a few times. There's an awful lot there, but it's the idea that those that God is going to use, he makes barren first. Like Sarah and Hannah. The mother and father of John the Baptist and so on. God works, Abraham and Sarah, God works a barrenness. He's going to do something special. He intervenes and causes things which ordinarily would happen not to happen. So that the people are tested and tested and tested and tested and tested. I'm not sure I'm going to outlive the test. But that's all right because in the kingdom, physical life and physical death are probably the least consequential of all the things that happen to a person. I mean, life goes on. He that lives and believes in me shall never die. Life goes on if you're living and believing in Jesus. Okay, so where does it say in Zechariah? Does anyone know? Because we're going to be referring to that. And I want you to know this thoroughly because I'm going to raise some questions today. What does it say in Zechariah? First hand in what chapter? Now you've got to realize that Zechariah 4 and Revelation 11 are closely tied together. Closely tied together. That's where you get your two olive trees and your lampstand. It's in Zechariah 4 and in Revelation. All right, now what does it say? Somebody read verse 10. Zechariah 4. Oh, anyway. But you see it's a plumb line. You've got to set up a plumb line today. And if you know anything about construction, you don't mess with the plumb line. You put the plumb line down. You don't move the plumb line to square up with the building. You move the building. And that's very important to remember. So the plumb line is being dropped today. And the eyes of God are watching. See those seven greetings, John said, from the seven spirits which are before his throne. See, these are the eyes of the Lord that run to and fro throughout the whole earth. So this is a tremendous day. And God is getting ready to make great changes. But it's going to have a small beginning. It's not going to begin in a great thing with a brass band and a palace somewhere. It's going to be a stable kind of, you know. There are few and strangers in it. See that? God works with a handful. God works with a handful. That's the way he works when he gets busy. Usually with one person. So you get as many as twelve. Wow, he's way up there. All right. Now, the next verse, Revelation 10.9, is very important. Why? Revelation 10.9 is one of the keys to this whole business, people. Believe me. So make sure you get it firmly in your mind. Revelation 10.9 is one of the keys. Debbie, remember that? Rebecca, remember it? Two Davids, remember it? That's key. See, I'm counting on you guys. The young, I'm counting on them. And Brian, when you have the young people meet, I want them to discuss these. These are very important. Because the average church member of middle age and beyond America can't even hear it. They don't even know what you're talking about. Why is 10.9 important? Because you don't become God's witness by reading the book. Reading the Bible is extremely important. But if it stops there, you're an average, smart church attender with the knowledge of the Bible. You've got to eat it. Now, what that means is you have to take it into yourself with such sincerity that it becomes part of you. Now, all of us know Galatians 2.20. What does that say? It's part of all of us. Huh? I am crucified with Christ. Now, most church people, they may not know that in Galatians 2.20, but they've heard that before. They've got it in their mind, but they don't understand that to be crucified with Christ is an experience. It's not something you learn in the Bible. It's something that you have to eat into you until you are being crucified and Christ is living in you. It's a total sincerity. Another one is 2 Corinthians 5.27. What is that? If any man be in Christ... What? He's a new creation. Well, every evangelical young person knows that. But they don't know what it... They're not becoming a new creation. Like I say, they're out with skirts way up over their knees passing out tracts. That doesn't wash. That doesn't wash. They haven't eaten the book. They've read the book. They want other people to read the book, but they've never eaten the book. Because when you eat the book, you don't wear skirts way up above your knees. You don't do that because that's not a witness of God. You can pass out 3,000 tracts, but if your skirts are way up to your hips, you're no witness of God. You're just no witness of God. Because God doesn't like that. So it isn't in the reading of it. That's important that we read the Word. It's very important. But that's not how you become a witness. You don't become a witness until you are eating God's Word and it's becoming part of you. And when you do, it's sweet in your mouth. But when it works in you, it creates pain because change always creates pain. Change means pain. Because something in you is being replaced. And it doesn't like it. Don't think that this body of ours doesn't have a mind of its own. And I'm not speaking figuratively. It has a mind of its own and demands of its own. This human body has a mind of its own and demands of its own. And it knows what it's about. Believe me. And it will try to encourage you to go in a certain direction. And it doesn't like the idea of change. Your body, your soulish body personality does not like change. It's threatened by it. And it does not like it. And this change, if you're eating the Word, the Lord just keeps pouring this change into you, stretching you, causing you to grow. And the result is there's a new creation coming forth. Now, do you begin to get a feel for the difference between reading the book and eating the book? Reading the book is fine. The more you learn about it, the prouder you become. Knowledge puffs up. But eating the book doesn't puff you up. It makes you serious. Now, the Lord should have been dealing with each one of you this past week about some issue. He should have been dealing with you about some issue. If you're in the stream, this last week, God dealt with you about some issue. And that means He wants change. And He's ready to give you the change, but your personality is not going to like it. Your personality is going to say, this is threatening. This is not what I want. And then the issue is joined. Then you're the referee. You either have to go with what God is showing you, or hold on to your life. You've got to save your life. If you save your life, what's going to happen? You're going to lose it. Because it's temporary. This human body and soul are temporary, don't they? They're temporary. They're not eternal. Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom. Now, I don't understand Christianity. I don't understand it at all. Because it seems to me that very few people that I've ever met are reading the book. They're reading it, and they've got it wrong. Well, you say, that's just boastful. Well, that's why I'm talking to you. Where I'm wrong, show me. I can't see where I'm wrong. No, I know we don't have an apostolic culture in the church. We don't have the people are good people, good, decent people, but they're still basically Adam. There's a two in a church, usually, that is really changing. And I'm sure, Debbie, you found that in Bible school. I'll bet you anything that the worst moral temptations you've ever had in your life have come in Bible school. And do you know why that is? It's because the kids aren't living the life. You don't have to nod yes or no and give anybody away. But I know that they come out of churches that don't have a moral strength. And they go to Bible school, and they're all inundated with moral problems. In fact, there was one of the leaders of the four square at the convention, who has come off the mission field and is working in the central with the brass. He said, I've never been tempted so in my life. You want to get married, go to Bible school. Because you've got a lot of people who want to get married. Sometimes they get impatient. Impatient? Sure, Debbie, I know enough about what goes on. I know, I had a pastor tell me about an assembly of God Bible school, not that they're any worse than anybody else. But he said, the whole thing's full of fornication. In the dorms, it's all full of fornication. I heard about it at one of the best known independent Bible seminaries in the United States. From a professor teaching there. He said, this whole thing's full of fornication. Now why is that? Why is that? It's because it's coming out of the church. It's coming out of the church that these young people are coming from. And they don't know any better. And somebody comes in like Debbie, that's been taught morality and strength, and a new creature, and grace is not a substitute for hard work. She's like a speckled bird. And she's suddenly hit with all this. You know, on this internet I've been telling you about, now several of the big servers, America Online, I guess Prodigy, and some of them others, are really getting in the business of developing software that you can use to block the pornography. That's big now. We've got, you know, Hugh and Cry's going, this thing's all violence and pornography. But do you know what? This is optional with people. And because Christian people haven't had the training, they're not going to use it. They're going to be looking up the pornography. You wait and see, because they don't have the steel in them. They have never eaten the book. And it's going to be handed to you on a plate there. All the moral perversions that you would ever want to see is there, and the monitors are continually being improved, and outdoing each other. They're in the digital displays now. Everything's becoming more finely tuned. And then, plus the virtual reality mechanisms. This is going to cause, as we'll get later in Revelation 11, it's going to cause a witness to be overcome. Because the people have not been taught what Christianity is. Christianity is not something that you read and accept. It's something that you eat. And it has to go into you, and it has to change you. And every day that goes by in America, until God sends revival, you're going to have more difficult moral decisions. It's going to be heated, and heated, and heated, and heated. And if you aren't in tremendous prayer, you're going to fall. Because Satan will play with your mind, and reason with you why it's okay, and down you're going to go like a ton of coal. Right down the chute. Hear me! Because it's increasing. And the only way you can stand is with constant eating of the Lord. Being with the Lord. Walking with the Lord. So that when that temptation comes, and when it comes, it comes hard and fast. One moment, your mind is free and you're singing in the Lord. The next moment, you look out, there's a magazine, there's a book, there's something. And then the demons, they're waiting for that. And he hits you, bang, like that. And unless you are walking in prayer, you're going to go down. Believe it. Believe it. Preachers and congregations alike. It's going to get increasingly difficult, because people have... We are in... Debbie, we are in, right now, we are in a mid-course correction in the Church. The Church in its present state is not able to withstand pornography. Unless... It doesn't... It's been writing superficially, everything's been good to this point, but now we've got a new enemy. I mean, it's greatly increased. It's going to call for tremendous, radical changes in the Church, as far as sincerity and understanding of what Christianity is all about. When you're in paradise, you won't have this problem. But in the end time, sin is going to abound. And where sin's abounding, grace will abound. But you've got to tap that grace. It's not going to be just given to you. You've got to be with it every second. Are there any questions about that? Are you experiencing that in the culture? It's there. It's being laid out for you on a big plate. Take it. See, because iniquity shall abound, the love of the majority shall grow cold. Where's that from? Matthew 24? What? Huh? Matthew 24? You're going to have to know the book. You're going to have to know it. Because iniquity shall abound, Rebecca, that means more and more and more sin. Verse 12. What? What does it say will happen? So you're not saved until... Debbie, and please pardon me if I keep referring to Debbie. It's because she exemplifies a generation of kids that are serious about the Bible. And it wouldn't take many. See, she'll go back. Debbie gets a hold of what we're teaching in this church. I don't know how well she has it, but she goes back. The first thing you know, she'll have 20 kids around her. Because in that school, there'll be kids that want something better. If you can hack it, Debbie, you'll have them. You'll have them. Because iniquity or sin shall abound, the love of the majority, King James says many, it's supposed to be the many, shall grow cold. Now the fact that it grows cold means that one time it was hot. So it's not talking about the unsaved. It's talking about people that were hot for Jesus. The love of the majority shall grow cold, and he that endures... Now Debbie, get a hold of that one. He that endures to the end shall be saved. What does that tell us? See Debbie, that verse is radical. That's rad. He that endures to the end shall be saved. It is rad. Why? Because most people assume that salvation is a one time thing. Yes, and that you're saved at the beginning. But the Bible says you're saved at the end. It's also repeated in Hebrews 3. We are made partakers of Christ if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence, steadfast to the end. You say that, and I seriously doubt there'll be a professor in the Bible school that'll agree with that. It threatens the whole system. It threatens the entire system of theology. People that love the truth and have a love for God will go with it. And those that are married to their ego and whatever else will never bend the knee. Never. You put truth in their face, and they'll tear up the book and throw it away. This is a day for people that mean business with God. That's why the witnesses are in sackcloth. They're not the people that everybody is saying, Oh, aren't these wonderful? Oh, wonderful. Oh, man, he's a big theologian. God is looking for people who are willing to become nothing, but who love truth more than their reputation or fellowship or to be recognized or anything else. I mean, it's a new day. But these are the people that are going to shape the world. These are the people that God's going to do with power, and they'll shape the world. But it's a new day. It's not the same old church attendance. Aren't we all nice and cute? It's people. It's young people who can withstand pornography. Do they get that away from me? I don't want to see it. I have nothing to do with that. And when the kids that have got the stuff see that, you'll have a following. Because everybody's looking. They've had a recent research that shows people don't move when they're in a group because everybody's afraid of the group. Only a leader will move against a group. They proved that by research. They've been researching why people all stand around and somebody's been knifed to death or killed or raped and nobody moves. And they've given research where there was one person involved and he'll move every time. But if you've got a group, nobody will move because groups do something. Nobody dares break it except a leader. A leader doesn't care what the group is doing. He will go out and do whatever is necessary. That's a new research study. A leader, he doesn't care what the whole group is saying. I mean, it doesn't have to be sassy, but if he knows what is right. I'm not going to do that. That's not right. Christians don't do that. And the kids will laugh, but in their heart, they're saying something else. They're saying, boy, I wish I had it. I wish I had it. I don't have it and I know I don't have it and I probably never will, but let's follow Debbie. She's got it. They're waiting to see somebody that will stand up and, like Finney has, put a knife through this whole thing. It's not serious enough. I was very bothered with the convention. It just simply was not serious enough. The Times called for serious, serious application to God. Not gloom, doom or anything like that. We never had any fun. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the gospel is serious business and pornography is serious business. It's serious business. It's becoming very, very widespread in America and it has been for years in the Scandinavian states where pornography has been out of hand there and now it's coming to the United States. That's why the Muslims are making the progress they are because they stand against that kind of thing. See, they're moral and so they're coming in and filling in the vacuum that the church has left with its silly grace teaching. The Muslims are moving in and saying that the United States is a great Satan. Look at how the women behave. Man, a woman behaves over there in Iran or Iraq like in the United States. They'd be stoned to death. They still stone women to death for adultery. If you're a thief, they cut off your hand. They still do that. And they think this is the great Satan over here. Well, Christianity is a more moral religion than Muslim religion but you'd never know it because of the bad teaching. But actually it's a more moral religion than the Muslim because the Muslim works with the natural man but Christianity works with the man of the heart and insists that he be changed. So they'll beat the Muslim religion hand down when we get it right. Because the poor Muslim, he doesn't have God's power to keep him from fornication. Only the fear of being stoned. But we've got God's power to keep us from fornication. We've got the body and blood of Jesus. We've got the Holy Spirit. We've got the born-again experience. We've got the whole banana. If it would be preached right. Instead of this silly grace business. Well anyway, that's why we're studying the two witnesses is because in these two chapters you'll find what God wants in his church and what constitutes true revival. All right now, we have to eat the book. Why? You tell me now. Yes. So what will happen to us? We're changed. And this is a weekly process. I mean you should not be the same person. Now that you were last Tuesday night. If you are, you're ignoring what God is doing. There should have been a point of change in your life in the last seven days. Some place where you met the word and the word cut you, divided the soul from the spirit, the joints and the marrow, and it cut away the dead flesh and new life came in. Line upon line. It's got to be a continual process. There's no stopping of that thing. God doesn't have seven days to waste. Well, what if I went on vacation? It makes no difference. God will keep on cutting you on the vacation if you're in the Lord. Because if you abandon yourself to a lot of foolishness, you'll have to set yourself back five years. But there's no time to waste. So you're on a vacation. So great. Pray and ask God, what's the lesson for today? What's the evil for today? Work on me, Lord. And he will. He won't ruin your vacation. He'll keep you from doing some fool thing probably. We all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed from glory to glory even as by the spirit of the Lord. Where's that from? That's a key verse of the New Covenant. 2 Corinthians 3.18. You should know that. But we all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed. And that word in the Greek is metamorpho from which we get the word metamorphosis which describes how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. That's the Greek word that's used for change in 2 Corinthians 3.18. Metamorphio change. Do they still use it today, Tony? For change? Okay. Changed into the same image from glory to glory by the spirit of the Lord. And that change is painful because your natural man is going to resist it. He's going to say I don't want to do that. That's not me. It's not, you know I've got a certain I've got a right to have a certain portion of my life to my own. No. All you're doing is denying yourself the kingdom. Because you're not going to enter the kingdom. Flesh and blood can't enter the kingdom. It's only that new thing that can enter the kingdom. You say well nobody will enter the kingdom when the Lord comes. Well that's what it says. Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection. The kids are going to be studying that. The difference between the two resurrections the beginning of the thousand year kingdom age and the end of it. We need to understand that. I'm afraid half the people at church don't even understand that. They say I don't know what to do about it. It's very important. Man. Otherwise we're just reading the book. We're not eating it. We've got to eat it. Or it's not going to do any good. As far as being a witness is concerned. All right now. But it shall be in my mouth sweet as honey. And when you hear the good words of God they are sweet. In that his precepts are always sweet and like honey. But it by the revelation 1010 as soon as he went right down into the inward part and then it began to challenge the Adamic nature. Inch by inch by inch. Yes Emily. There's such a vast amount of people that are never responsive. What do you think is going to happen to all these people? I don't know Emily. And when I go to the Lord about it and naturally it's of concern to me. What I get from the Lord is you just be faithful in what you're doing and the Holy Spirit will take care of it. That's what I'm getting from the Lord. And I think that's why 1010 Psalm 105 came to those people in prayer. I think what the Lord is saying don't worry about it. Just don't worry about it. Just do like Joseph. Just be faithful where you are. Because God can turn that thing in a minute. But Emily, the people are so far down the trail that it's going to take thousands of ministers who understand what God is doing to break it down and out for the people. And I don't know. I think it's going to happen in the near future and I think it's going to happen in the midst of great trouble. I asked the Lord one time about trouble and what I got from the Lord was, I'm going to make it very dark so that the light will be very clear. Assembling the pastors and ministers, did you hear them hearing? I don't go there. I don't get invited there. Even with the four square bells? Right. As far as the four square is concerned, they never heard of me. They tolerate me. Did you see a change in the ministers? Is it the divisional meetings that the local four square people in this area ministers? At first, I think they felt a little awkward and strange. But now, they have accepted me full bore. Ed Brown refers to me as the heretic from Poway. But there's an affection there and it's very deep. They don't understand me but we have a very affectionate relationship. But you see, you have to flow in God's time. It's very important to learn to flow in God's time. God has a time for all things. And I've been writing now for 30 years. But you see, you can't do that all at once. God is a God of preparation. And he has to get this. And I've been going through my books lately and changing quite a few things. Not doctrine at all, because the doctrine is right, but the harshness of it. And the scorn, the scorn of my writing. I got mad at people because you're willfully ignorant. And to call people willfully ignorant doesn't help anything. It doesn't feed the sheep. So I'm getting all that out of my writings. It's taken me a long time to see it. But the doctrine is right. But my attitude is wrong. So people don't understand it. So I should be scornful? This is ridiculous. If I'm a teacher, my job is to explain, not to yell at them. Do you see what I'm saying? So that has to be worked out. So this is taking a long time. But the Holy Spirit can apply it in a moment. But first you have to have something to apply. And that takes time and thought and consistency. Okay, and of course you guys are a sounding board and if you spot anything where you feel I'm stretching the scripture or anything, hard. I don't want to teach something that's wrong. All right. So, so it's bitter. And now notice that he says in verse 10, the last verse, chapter 10, you must prophesy again. now you understand when I say that the two witnesses, now who do I say that the two witnesses are? And this is important to David. Who do I say? Because as far as I know, I'm the only person in the world with this doctor. And so that's what I said. I want you to sit up close and I want you to think. And I want you to hear my reasons so that you won't say, well, you know, he believes this but I don't understand why but I'm loyal so I believe it. I want you to understand where I'm coming from. Okay? Now, of course, the conventional thought on the two witnesses is that they are Moses and Elijah or Elijah and Elisha or Enoch and Moses. They bring in Enoch because he never died. And so on. There's one man who's teaching that it's Israel and the church. And that's just about everyone. And that sounds right but when you pin it down it won't work because you can't have two Israels and Israel after the spirit and Israel after the flesh and they're both bearing witness. It's inviting at first but when you pin it down it won't wash. And so the Lord spoke, I felt to me in Revelation when I was in the Fremont Assembly of God early one morning about this. And so I teach that the two witnesses are what? The church and the Lord. Yeah, it's a double portion on the church. And I want to give you the reasons why. And the first one is right here. You see, when John wrote this there were no chapters. So we would expect that Revelation 10-11 which is the last verse would have something to do because the two witnesses come up three verses later. And you would expect a connection. It wouldn't like he said I must prophesy again and then he totally changes the subject. So what I'm saying is sounder homiletics because what I'm doing is tying together the context. Now there's something about prophesying before many peoples and nations and tongues and kings that's different from what we know. What is it? Exactly. Very good, Brenda. Very good. See, we understand that prophets are given to build up the body. But you see, this is not that type of prophecy. He that speaks to the body speaks to men for edification, exhortation, and comfort to build up the body. But now listen, see if you can grasp this. The whole body is a prophet. When the body is built up it becomes a prophet to the nations. And you see, so this prophecy he's not saying you're going to prophesy in the church to build up the saints. He's talking about the prophecy which is the witness of the members of the body. And that witness is to the nations. Which of course is what the two witnesses do. Alright, now, what, now this prophecy will take place before the Lord comes. What is it that the nations need to hear? Repent, the kingdom is at hand. That was the original witness. God requires righteousness and he judges. And is that being preached today in America? What is being preached today is let Jesus into your heart. But what was preached in the book of Acts was repent. We're afraid if we say that you have to turn away from your sins that people won't get saved. So we're running scared. We're running scared. And this two witness thing is a seller's market. That means instead of us suing for peace with people so they accept Christ they'll be suing for peace with us so they can get to know the Lord. Now, that's a whole new ballgame. How many have ever read Tom Sawyer? I read it many years ago but there's an appropriate incident in Tom Sawyer. He was charged by his mother to whitewash the fence. And he didn't want to do it. And there was kids hanging around. So what did he do? Huh? He condomed them. He pretended like this was the greatest thing that anybody could ever get to do. And the other kids got curious about it. Wow, this is, oh, I'm so glad I could do this. Well, Tom, let me have a look at it. Well, I'm not so sure, you know. And I read it a long time and it seems to me he ended up charging them to paint the fence. Well, that's where it passes from a buyer's market to a seller's market. And when we've come across in America like, oh, God, if you would only, you know, God wants us, you don't have to do anything. Just come home. Bring, you know, the pigs home. Bring the slops home. Bring the whiskey home. Bring the whole thing. Son, you can have a party for the rest of your life. Just come home. That's the way it's preached. But that isn't the way it worked. Until the boy came to himself. And if he'd have come home with all his friends, his rock and roll music, the brews, the girls, and the drugs, what do you think would have happened? Sure, the father didn't want that in his house. He wanted his son, but he didn't want those antics in his house. But that's what we're doing. We're bringing in people without a wedding garment. And I don't know all the answers to it, but I do know that the gospel is a gospel of repentance. And even where it says in Mark 16, 15, He that believes and is baptized shall be saved. Then when you go over to Romans 6, it tells you what being baptized means. And it means that you have died for the world. Evangelists can't go out and explain all this that's happening. They preach it. Believe and be baptized. Repent. The kingdom of God is at hand. Then it's up to pastors and teachers and others to explain to people, this is what happened to you. This is what you bought into. You don't sin anymore. That's done away. God has given you a new life. So, yes, the testimony of righteousness, my goodness sake, alive, has fallen on hard times in the United States. But God, there's a lot of ministry, but the true witness of the nature of God. Okay, what else should be born? Certainly we should bear a witness of the atoning death and triumphant resurrection of the Lord. That's part of the witness. Christ is alive. Christ died for our sins. But we've got to tell people the truth. You can't. And that has to be done with wisdom, too, because you can't clean fish before you catch them. So, it has to be done with wisdom. It has to be done with wisdom. But the way they preached it in the book of Acts, it was a seller's market. Men and brothers, what do we do? You have to sell the market. How do we get saved? With that. I think, you know, the definition of a Christian really being caught, there's so many, so many of them that think they're converted, and there is no conversion. No, they've never been converted. That's right. That's right. They have been caught. That's right. Exactly. And there's probably none who have. Exactly. And that's what Wesley called mental ascent. John Wesley called that mental ascent. When you ascent mentally to the truth of Christ's atonement, but you don't have, you never really came to the Master. And we've got churches full of people like that. It's all over the place. So, as I say, we're having a mid-course correction. And one of the big words is seriousness. It's just altogether too much foolishness and joking. You know, and just slip up your hand, come on, join our group, have a good time, we're going to have fun in church. Hey, you know, I wish the whole church had seen that film Sunday night. I mean, the church needed to see that thing. That's serious. This guy going back and his father slapping him around and trying to kill him and torture him and everything because he's a Muslim and a little boy they're trying to kill and a little Christian boy they were trying to hold him right in front of him and they were going to crush his dog's head with a stone because he's a Christian dog. People need to see that. I mean, that's serious. That's not fun and games. That's serious. And there's people like that. There's so many thousand Christian leaders being martyred today, every week in third world countries. It's going on. I read it in the Near East Digest I said, Paul, how many? You can't comprehend it. And in the Sudan they are crucifying people upside down trying to wipe out all the black Christians in the Sudan. Hey. And we're sitting over here always wondering who comes to our club. And God is telling me, told me, it's not serious. It's not serious enough what's going on. So we've got to be busy. That doesn't mean we have to be unhappy or moody or gloomy. It just means we've got to be serious. And there's things in life we're serious about, isn't there? Huh? Carol's dead. Now his retina's detached again. He woke up this morning blind in one eye. You know, that's serious. This is the second time this has happened. The guy is frightened, you know. He's operated on today. A detached retina. He could be blind in one eye. I mean, life is serious. And if any institution on earth ought to be serious, it's the church. Do you believe that? And we have the message of eternal life. We have the message of eternal life. That's serious business. And we need to tell people, you know, not, not, but we need to be open about our Father's business. He won't walk with unrighteousness. And that's part of the witness. All right. So, he said, you must prophesy again. Now to me, that's a key that says what follows has something to do with this. I mean to say then they completely changed subject. So, now the first thing that we found to make the witness is what? You've got to eat the book. Now we come in 1101 which tells us the second thing that we have to do to be the witness. And what is that? It was given me a reed like unto a rod named just to rise to measure the temple of God and the altar. That's the altar of incense in before the veil and then that worship therein. The people in, the real stuff like Emily says, the people have really been converted. What does that mean? It was given me a reed like a rod. Judgment. First, you eat the book and when you do that judgment follows. What is, what is he, what's going on here? What's going on here? Preparation for the witness. Because otherwise if you make it Enoch and Elijah or something like this, where did these people come from? And what are they going to preach? I mean the Bible says you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be what? My witnesses. And Jesus said about John the Baptist he that has, he says there has not arisen a greater prophet than John, but he that is least in the kingdom is greater than he. So why would God bypass his church and bring up Enoch and Elijah? This is what is taught. All right, now let me ask you a question. Where are they going to come from? Down from heaven? Up from the ground? Where are Enoch and Elijah going to come from? Or Moses and Enoch? Or Moses and Elijah? They differ from preacher to preacher. Where are they going to come from? I mean all of a sudden poom up they come out of the ground. You see cartoon pictures of them, they got long beards and they are breathing off fire. Hey, the book of Revelation is symbolic. It is symbolic. Antichrist is a beast coming up out of the sea. He is actually going to be a very, very skilled administrator. He is not going to be the guerrilla king Kong coming up out of the sea. But we know that. But then why should the two witnesses be two bearded prophets? Some say Moses is one of them. Moses. Moses and Elijah because they appeared on the mount of transfiguration. Well, what are they going to come down from heaven? See, my reasoning is if it is Moses and Elijah because they are on the mount of transfiguration and they are going to come down from heaven because they are obviously both there because they are with Jesus in the mount, then why doesn't it say so? Why doesn't it say two witnesses came down from heaven? See, it doesn't make sense but this other than a teaching it makes sense. This is the preparation for the witness. He says you must prophesy again. John representing the church. So what immediately happens, he eats the book and then he is measured. Alright, the next overhead David. Kind of a surprise to David. He never gets past one over. And we will see other evidences too. Those aren't just the only evidences. There are more. But the court which is without the temple. Now in terms of tabernacle, that would mean people that God is going to save but they are not as close to God as his church. They are out in the courtyard. They represent the nations of the saved. It is given unto the Gentiles and the holy city shall they tread under foot for 42 months. Now that may could possibly be speaking of more trouble for Jerusalem. Personally, I feel from Zechariah and possibly from this verse and I hate to say this but I think Israel is really going to suffer in the days to come. The things prophesied in Zechariah have never come to pass yet. I wish that were not that way but I think it is going to be. Okay. I don't think they are going to get rid of that stuff off the temple mount just yet. I wish they would. All right. Now see, all of a sudden after all of this you must prophesy again measure the situation and all and I will give power. No indication that they came from anywhere so the assumption is they are already present. That is another reason. Okay. It is like and by the way the word power is not in the Greek. It is just I will give unto my witnesses so you can translate it authority, permission, commission, power. You can put in there any words you want to but God prepares them by eating the book and by measuring judging them and then empowers them or authorizes them. Does that make sense to you? And who are they going to prophesy to? See, the nations just as I said every nation tongue and everything. You must prophesy again which to me the first prophecy was the book of Acts the former reign the second prophecy is the latter reign which will be a much greater witness of God. Okay. Now I think someone needs to read Matthew 24.14. Now this is very key here. Matthew 24.14 is very key. Don't give up. In fact it does finally come to an end. Remember he that endures to the end shall be saved. And get to ride around with her sister. Alright. Now Matthew 24.14 Alright. Slowly. Slowly. Yeah. Okay. This gospel of the kingdom I want to emphasize that again because that's what why are the two witnesses going to bear witness of the kingdom? Because that's what's coming. And that was the message in the first century but it's been changed. See the gospel has been changed from the gospel of the kingdom to the gospel of heaven. It's been changed. Now we're going back to the original gospel. Okay. This gospel of the kingdom go ahead shall be preached in the whole world. Okay. That did not fit up there. You must bear witness to every kingdom nation, tongue everything. It all ties in. Go ahead. For a witness to all the nations. See now that's important. Now back up there once David what did that say about you must prophesy what was prophesy again? Wasn't it? You must prophesy again. Is that what it says? The last verse and the first you must prophesy again. See so what is being given is a prophetic witness. See the prophets always bear witness. Elijah bore witness Jeremiah bore witness Isaiah bore witness the prophets we're not used to that today because we're used to preaching and teaching that is explanatory or even or evangelistic or both. But the idea of bearing witness this is what the Lord says Elijah and Elisha were the only persons that used this expression the Lord God before whom I stand. And you'll notice in here when we get into Revelation 11 it says these are the two witnesses who stand before the God of the whole earth. And Elijah and Elisha are very strong types of the two witnesses. Just like Jesus said about John he said Elijah's already come. But it wasn't Elijah it was John. So you see he's speaking symbolically. He says he came in the spirit and power of Elijah. And the church in the end time will come in the spirit and power of Elijah and Elisha. It will be the form of the latter rain in the first month. That is the beginning of God's kingdom. The first month. In the new calendar that's Tishri the month that has tabernacles in it. Alright. So this now picture in your mind this is one of the important reasons for teaching us this subject. The message of the church is not going to be so much I think it will include what it has always included but it's going to have an element of prophetic witness to the world. And you remember when Jesus sent them out two by two he said heal the sick cast out devils raise the dead and say unto them the kingdom of God is not unto you. It was a witness. Heal the sick raise the dead cast out devils and say the kingdom is not unto you and Jesus said if they will not receive you what were they to do? Take off your sandal and shake the dust off it. It would be more tolerable for Sodom or the day of judgment for that city. I did that for a place one time. I got so disgusted with it I left the place took off my shoe and knocked the dust off and I'll leave it with God. He wants to validate it or invalidate it. I figure I have had it with this place that's enough of that. But the Adullam children those Chinese orphan children in the book Visions Beyond Vision What was that? Vision Was it Visions Beyond the Veil? Was that it? Adullam children one by Baker Was that Visions Beyond the Veil? Well I don't know whether that's the one Marietta Davis or not. One is Intramurals is one. Okay. What was the Marietta Davis? What was that one? Visions of Annie Annie is another one. Marietta Davis Well anyway Visions Beyond the Veil I think of the Adullam children but in any case this was visions that several Chinese children had in the late 30's probably just before the Japanese invaded China. And they saw the saints in the last days going forth two by two and healing the sick casting out devil raising the dead. They saw these children who had never read the Bible unlettered Chinese orphan children saw the New Jerusalem they saw hell they saw heaven they sang with the angels and everything you can think of but that was one of the visions that they saw. Was the saints going forth. Sam were you there that day that I taught that at the Marcello School and that place went wild. All these students there's a couple hundred three or four hundred students from the third world and I said you may not have time to stop and build churches God just wants you to go from village to village preach the gospel heal the sick raise the dead cast out devils and say the kingdom has come I mean those kids went wild people from all the third world countries but you see there's not time to stop and build a church and go through get a building permit and all the you know by the time you could be through five villages by the time you did that. Just raise the dead heal the sick cast out devils say the kingdom has come come unto you repent believe the gospel and on your way. Because you see now this gospel the kingdom shall be preached for a witness a witness just a witness that means there will have to be signs following because the signs are part of a witness so God and this generation of young people is coming up is going to be raising the dead healing the sick and casting out devils and bearing witness of the kingdom and then read on this is a very credit see how 24-14 of Matthew ties in with Revelation 11 go ahead for a witness to all nations and then the end shall come yeah that's the end of gospel preaching that will be the last gospel preaching before the Lord comes that will be the end of the gospel witness then will come darkness on the cities of the earth and the rule of antichrist we'll see this a little later on chapter 11 we won't get to it tonight now are there any questions about what we've said so far what I'm doing what I'm bouncing because you see this is not commonly taught that the two witnesses by the way if we say that the two witnesses are Jesus and his church which boils down to Jesus and you but there we've only got one person we've got you and Jesus as one person is there any verse that tells us that you can have two people in a situation like that where is it you know there is one no yes it's in John what chapter two witnesses throughout the ages that was a very critical scripture I thought well Lord it's Jesus and the church Jesus and his body how do you get two witnesses out of this and the Lord gave it I like that bang John 8 yes speaking about God yes we and the Father are two so are the two witnesses the truth yes can you find that and it's in John huh no it's not John 17 23 huh I don't think so what does 537 say one that's very very clear 814 814 814 814 read it Jesus answered and said and said though I bear a record of myself yet my record is true for I know arm lookers see one but Jesus said you're hearing the testimony of two men yes that was when the Lord gave me that two witness thing starting with Adam and Eve and taking me all the way through that was the verse he gave me for Jesus and the Father every set of two witnesses had in it something to do with this this particular set because this particular set is very crucial in history it's at this point that the world is going to change from what we know into the kingdom of God and God wants his church to bear witness of that change before it happens whenever there's massive change God sends two witnesses see so the church in our day has a very very distinct honor alright and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and three score days now see he said to John you must prophesy again see see how it all ties together you can't jump from one thing to another and say now suddenly we're talking about Moses and Elijah it's not good you're not principles of biblical interpretation you try to interpret things in the flow of thought ok so we're talking about a witness and we're talking about a prophetic witness now what is important about the thousand two hundred and three score days how long a time is that in months forty two how long a time is that in years three and a half because in this calendar you don't figure a year at three sixty five days but three hundred sixty you figure the Jewish year at three hundred sixty days and so when you multiply it out it comes to three and a half years now this three and a half years is very important and it comes from Daniel now Brian I want you to get a hold of this this is very important again you can use a horizontal line and you just draw it out and divide it in two because in Daniel and I don't have time to take you all through Daniel but in Daniel it says that there will be seventy weeks before everlasting righteousness comes and it will be sixty nine weeks until Messiah and when you count up from that time it comes out sixty nine weeks a year until Jesus and scholars have done that and so the big question in Bible prophecy is where is the seventieth week where is the seventieth week we know that the sixty nine weeks that Jesus came and was crucified within sixty nine weeks but the seventieth week has never been fulfilled so scholars where is the seventieth week where is the seventieth week so what they have said is that during the church age the clock stopped ticking the clock stopped but this is where it resumes and there is the seventieth week is here and the first half of the week is the latter rain revival the last half of the week is antichrist and the great tribulation and you'll find that in Daniel in the midst of the week he will cause the oblation and the grain offering to cease and then there will be an overflowing of abominations that's in Daniel the eighth chapter for homework you might want to read Daniel's chapter eight and nine because they talk about the middle of the week and the sixty nine weeks and the seventy weeks and all it's in Daniel eight and nine but I want you to see it's a very simple picture it's a very simple picture there is going to be a week of years now whether this will actually be seven years or whether that's just speaking of a complete period of time I'm not here to say it may be symbolic it may be seventy years I don't know it may be a hundred and twenty years but it's shown prophetically as seven years ok a thousand two hundred and three square days is three and one half years so as Daniel says in the middle of the week he shall cause the oblation and grain offering to cease the oblation and grain offering refer to getting saved and receiving the spirit and what he is saying is that in the middle of the week the end shall come there will be no more getting saved and being filled with the spirit it's going to be removed from the cities of the earth the church will be forced into hiding in the wilderness to wait for the Lord's return first the latter rain revival that takes you to the middle of the week the greatest revival of history the second half of the week is what two things what antichrist and when antichrist claims to be God that claim is what will trigger the great tribulation that will trigger it because God will not permit any man on the earth to claim to be the almighty God the last one that tried that was Herod immediately the angel of the Lord struck him antichrist will sit in a restored temple in Jerusalem in the oracle that is between the wings of the cherubim on the chariot and say I am God there is no other God and when he does that that is why Jesus said when you see the abomination of desolation or the abomination that creates desolation stand in the holy place and get out of Judea because then will be tribulation such as never has been from the foundation of the world because when he says I am God and there is none other which is only humanism brought to the floor that is all it is that is all it is the only God there is the God that is within you and look within you for power and it is only one step to saying that I am God that this is the God that is in me and when he goes into the holy place and that is in Daniel that is where Jesus was caught in Daniel then tribulation and God will protect his people and of course the Jews will be forced out of Israel and be joined with the Gentiles that is what the title of Joseph is about but all we need to remember tonight is this we are facing radical change it is going to require on our part eating the book I mean the day I think of God's people and I was writing today I was revising my book on God or cattle and you know that little booklet about Reuben Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh that didn't want to cross the Jordan they wanted to stay on the east side of Jordan because they had cattle and Moses went into orbit and he said that is when that famous expression occurred there be sure your sins will find you out and Moses yelled at those people this is what he said you are weakening the hands of the men of war and you are taking the heart out of them and I was sitting there and I was thinking how many people in the churches by their careless attitude frivolous oh I think I'll do this oh I think I'll do that and it's acceptable in today's Christianity it's acceptable and we just think well good go and have fun you know but when other people around you seeing you take that attitude where your life is all materialistic and it's all on the relatives and the parties and the this and the that it weakens the hands of the men of war and I was sitting there thinking dear lord what is it going to take to make the people serious what is it going to take they don't realize there's a war and that's exactly what Satan that's exactly what he's after is a weak people with grace heaven rapture and all having a wonderful time and they're all lovey dovey and everything is happy clappy that's exactly what he wants because when he moves he's going to move fast and hard and it's going to talk about a broom of destruction it's just going to wipe out Christianity as we know I mean the people are not prepared for that thing in America they'll leave the lord by droves when it means breaking up their family and taking their children from them or going antichrist way it won't be radical it'll just be easy on the spiritual things let's get on with the job of clothing naked and feeding the hungry and all this stuff you know that's being taught about to witnesses and all that that isn't helping that isn't doing a thing that's what they're going to do that's exactly you know that Clinton meets regularly with an evangelical pastor you know Clinton was on the television with Billy Graham saying that he came to Christ when he was 10 years old and these ministers eat this up they can't tell the difference they're not even appalled with Felix like this he didn't say well now come on I'll help you keep your operation clean he reasoned with him of judgment and temperance and judgment to come to him but Felix was sitting there trembling you know with Billy Graham and these men are acting like chaplains to him one of them calling brother Bill you know and the things he's done in office and what he's going to do in his next term because he's surely going to get elected and these are going to be horrific but he's already you know and I told you some of the things he's done well he's been in office now he's going now he's been advised to go center of the road go center of the road now he's not going to be reelected he's got a centrist policy he's doing little things to appeal to the Christians and all you wait until he's reelected and he will be the way things are going we are in for it the immorality of it and this is a Christian president this is a man who came to Christ I don't blame him nobody told him the difference and nobody's telling him the difference to this day nobody's telling him the difference that he's not a Christian he's not taking up his cross he's not following Jesus he's not a witness for God he doesn't know the difference between sin and righteousness why because nobody has told him he brings in these evangelical ministers and has maybe 10 of them in and they're so overpowered being at the center of the most powerful nation on earth and he's telling him he came to Christ when he was 10 years old and who do you think is going to stand up there and say well under what terms did you come did you repent have you turned from your sins are you living for God and why aren't you taking a stand on abortion why are you permitting this this is hardly commensurate with Christ we've got a mess well his wife hosted the Muslims in there and congratulated them on being the fastest growing religious group in the United States his wife and I'm not trying to run down the president I don't know beings of I don't even know the man all I know is he doesn't act like he understands the Christian gospel or he wouldn't stand up and say I came to Christ when I was 10 and he meant under Billy Graham that's what he's talking about was Billy Graham, Billy Graham was in the White House so people I'm not here honoring Ain't It Awful I don't waste any time on Ain't It Awful routine I don't waste no time I know it exactly hear it hear it and it's that way all over our country that's right that's right things go along as well in your Christian life go along as well as Satan taking you down a primrose path and when he gets ready to move bang there goes your home there goes your sanity there goes your health and everything just like that because you who can blame the people they're not always talking well anyway we're not talking about Ain't It Awful God's got a program that he wants people to get into any other questions well you've been very what I saw I was at a meeting just of ministers just it wasn't the four square it was an independent ministerial association and one of the ministers on the platform got up and said if anybody will give a thousand dollars I'll prophesy over you so a lady gave a thousand dollars and he prophesied over her that wouldn't happen again if I was there but that actually happened that's not uncommon there was a full gospel businessman down in lemon grove and the fellow said if you give so much money you'll never have cancer this stuff goes on all over the place well it is an abomination and it's getting close to putting the name of Jesus on things that are not Jesus well the only answer is to eat the book reading it won't stand up in the day in which we're living you've got to get serious okay well you endured Rebecca you endured to the end okay Lord we come to you tonight and Lord we view your gospel very seriously we know Lord that there's people tonight that to become Christian means that they're cut out of their families they get baptized in water they get poisoned by their relatives and other people suffer various things Lord we know in our country it isn't usually that way but we know it's coming and Lord we know that a great work has to be done so Lord I pray that each one of us will be utterly dedicated in our area of what you've given to us that we will not weaken the hands of the men of war by getting into material things but we will really give ourselves to the gospel to Christ to live the life Lord give us the strength to do that to stand against the pornography the moral filth that's going on I pray you'll help Debbie in particular as she goes back to the Life Bible College that she will stand Lord she'll stand as a lighthouse in that place she's got the truth and Lord I pray you'll help her to stand in it and anoint her that pretty soon there will be others Lord that there will be a nucleus of students that understand what God is doing today understand Revelation 10 and 11 and help us all Lord we can't go out and do it in our own strength all we can do Lord is just let our light shine and follow you Lord in humility and be teachable we give you praise Lord all people I feel his presence I tell you the Lord Jesus the Lord Jesus he is so real so real hallelujah Lord you are so real so real and we know Lord as a blessing to you when people talk seriously about your kingdom and about righteousness and about what you're doing Lord we know it's very precious to your heart so help us all to do what we can in the day in which we live to turn many many people to righteousness we ask it in Jesus name now Lord bless each one here give them a safe ride home a good night sleep without troubling dreams Lord that are not from you to awaken in the morning with strength and joy to serve the Lord I ask it Lord in Jesus name and everyone said Amen
