It has been said that Nicaragua is not one of the richest nations in the world. I disagree. This is not the richest nation in the world as far as money is concerned. But I found something out. This is one of the richest nations in the presence of God. And now everybody's got shmica. The Lord is going to bless us in this last service again. The Bible said you know the truth and the truth sets you free. Jesus said you know the truth and the truth sets you free. We want to thank all the leaders and all of the people who put this together. It's been a wonderful time for us. And when we return to the United States, we leave with our hearts here. And when we return to the United States, I want you to remember that we are leaving our hearts with you. This has been a time of great love. When I'm finished, we're going to have a time together. We're going to ask the Holy Spirit to come down. And nobody, not one person, leave this tent without being refreshed from on high. A refreshment from on high. We go to the Word of God. I want to talk to you about the power of a refreshed spirit. The power of a refreshed spirit. I want you to go to 2 Corinthians 7. And read verses 5 through 7. I'll read a verse and then you read it in Spanish. Are you there yet? Are you in your Bible? If you have your Bible, will you hold it up and let me see? Wait a minute, let me hear you. You got your Bibles? You are rich in the Holy Ghost. Start verse 5. For when we were come to Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side, without were fighting, and within were fears. Nevertheless, God, that comforts those who are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus. And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us of your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me, so that I rejoiced more. And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us of your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me, so that I rejoiced more. Holy Spirit, come down now. And finish the work that you started here under this tent. Let everyone in this house open their ears again. There is still more. There is still more. And we are ready to receive it from God. In Jesus' name, amen. Paul the Apostle was a human being. He was not God. He went through deep trials, just like you and I. And he's writing these words from Macedonia. Paul was going through the trial of his life. He said, I have trouble on every side. Fighting is outside of me. Fears within me. Now, let me give you the background. How did this great man of God come into this condition? Paul had written a letter to the Corinthians in the first chapter of Corinthians. Paul loved the Corinthian church. It was something born out of his own spirit. It was a great evangelistic church. But sin had crept into the house. The worst kind of fornication and incest. And they were not doing anything about it. They were not correcting the sin. And they, or the people of the church, were not doing anything about it. They were maintaining the sin there. And Paul wrote a reproving letter. And a letter so harsh, probably the harshest letter Paul had ever written. A harsh message, a very direct message. He said, you are not dealing with sin. He said, you're all puffed up. There's pride in you. He said, you're not mourning over sin. You're not judging righteous judgment. You should have dealt with this man, who is having an affair with his own mother-in-law. He said, you have not dealt with it. He said, now I'm telling you, and I'm saying this on the authority of Jesus Christ, that man has to be dealt with. He's a fornicator. And if you don't deal with it, I'm insisting that he be turned over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, for the sake of his soul. Now that's a strong, hard message. I have never preached that hard in my life. Paul seems to have received some word that it was first not well taken. And Paul was having second thoughts about his harshness. In one verse later, in a few chapters later, he said, I repented for a season. And Paul begins to think about how his letter affected the Corinthian church. Was I too hard? I remember at Times Square Church, a number of years ago, I preached what I thought was a hard message. And when I was finished, I stepped back. I stepped back. And I said to myself, people are not receiving this. There was too much of my own flesh. And I fell on my face. The church was packed with people. And I laid on my face for 45 minutes you could not hear a sound. And that scripture came to me. Do not condemn the righteous and do not bless the wicked. And I said, oh God, did I cross a line? And for 45 minutes I let the Holy Spirit deal with my heart. I thought everybody had left. People told me later, my wife heard it. They said, we could hear angels singing. And when I woke up, no one had left the church. We were in the presence of God. And this holy man, Paul, he said, did I offend God's people? And he said, I have to know. In fact, it's so weary his flesh. It's so got to his spirit. He sent Titus to go to Corinth. He said, I want you to share with my love. Tell them I wrote that letter in tears. I don't mean to harm anybody. But he said, I wrote that because my heart is for the purity of the church. He says, find out what happened. Did they repent? Bring me a report. I'm going to Troas. You get a report. And you meet me in Troas. And please tell me what happened. See, Paul was already burdened in his flesh. He had been to Ephesus. And he had had a revival. Idol worshipers brought their demonic books. And they burned them in a huge city fire. They were smashing their silver idols. And the whole city was stirred. A revival broke out. But the silversmiths, those who made the idols, they rose up against Paul and said, this man is trying to destroy our religion. He's prejudiced against our religion. We worship the goddess Diana. And he's going all over Asia. And he's destroying our religion. And the whole city rose up now. And a riot broke out. They went to the Coliseum or to the big auditoriums. And they began to cry out against Paul. They began to cry out of the worship of Diana. They surrounded Paul. And Paul later said, I despaired of my life. I thought I was a dead man. But something happened in Ephesus that broke the heart of Paul, that broke his spirit. The Bible doesn't give us all of the evidence of what happened in Ephesus. But I think I know what bothered Paul. He wanted to get into that big gathering. He wanted to go into the amphitheater and preach Christ. And the Bible says his friends kept him back. They said, you can't go in there. We refuse to let you go in. And Paul leaves Ephesus. And he wrote. He said, I want you to know I had trouble. I cast down but not despair. I'm confused. He said, no, I'm not breaking down but I'm really cast down. Those words are all in Corinthians. He said, I want you to remember the trouble I had in Asia. I've been pressed out of measure above strength. So much so I despaired of life. When he gets to Troas he's a weary soldier. Whatever happened in Asia in Ephesus took him to a low point in his life. He said, just wait until I get to Troas. I'm going to meet Titus my beloved son in Christ. And I'm going to find out how people responded to my letter in Corinth. When he gets to Troas Titus didn't come. He waited. And the Bible says even Paul's own admission an effective door was opened in Troas. But he said, I moved on. For the first time in the ministry of Paul he turns down an open door. He was too weary. He could not take advantage of that opening. Where is Titus? Oh God, what's happening? And when you're down like this and when you're tired that is when the enemy comes in. And I'm sure the enemy was saying to Paul Titus went to Corinth and got convinced by those false prophets that I am not a righteous man and he's been infected because the word came to Paul the apostle that false prophets had been sneaking into the Corinthian church and they were despising the suffering of Paul. In effect, this is what they were saying. If Paul was a righteous man he would not be bringing shame on the church here. He would have the power of God in him. Nobody could capture him and put him in jail. Where was the angel of the Lord? Paul is not a man of God. If you're a righteous man you don't suffer. And that's why Paul is always defending his chains and his sufferings. I know a pastor who has suffered more than I could ever conceive of suffering. One trial, one suffering after another. And there were a few times I was thinking what's wrong with this man? Why is he going through this? What is it in his life? The Lord rebuked me. He said, do you know any other man that knows the Lord like this man? Have you ever heard greater revelation than this man? This man knows the sufferings of Christ. Titus does not come to Troas. And it's a weary, tired man of God that goes to Macedonia. Because Titus was told meet me at Troas. Evidently, word was sent to Titus that Paul has gone on to Macedonia. And that's where he wrote these words. Tired and weary. Passed down. When we came to Macedonia he's speaking of himself our flesh had no rest. No rest. Have you ever been there? To come to these meetings like that? Passed down? No rest in your spirit? Did you have fear inside? Were things around you confusing? Are there some troubles that are around you? Is there something deep in your heart? Of suffering? You have not been encouraged? You have been discouraged? Paul was absolutely discouraged. If Paul the Apostle did not experience what I experienced if he doesn't get discouraged like you and I get discouraged if he doesn't go through these deep trials then he has nothing to say to me. His epistles have nothing to say to us. But he's gone through everything that you and I went through. He's not a superman. He's a suffering man. And then he goes on to say nevertheless God that comforts those who are cast down He said, I serve a comforter. The Holy Ghost is my comforter. The Holy Spirit is my comforter. But how does the Holy Ghost comfort? Every pastor here every evangelist here every Sunday school teacher you have said this I believe the Holy Ghost is a comforter. You preach it? If you believe it's written He's a comforter. But how does he do it? How does the Holy Ghost comfort? Does he send an angel that's been recorded in scripture? Go back to your Bible 2 Corinthians 7th chapter verse 6 and this is the heart of my message nevertheless God that comforts those that are cast down comforted us how? By the coming of Titus. God uses men to comfort men. He uses people to comfort people. Paul said, I was down. I wish I could have been there. Paul has been at Macedonia for a while. Down he goes feeling so low. He knows the comforter is the Holy Spirit. But God is teaching Paul. Paul said, my life is a pattern. Paul told the people in a later message he said, let me tell you why I suffer. Let me tell you why you are suffering if you love Jesus. Because you're going to be comforted. And Paul the apostle said, I'm in jail and I've got troubles for your sake. This is about you. This is about all God's people. That the comfort that I receive I can turn around and comfort others. He said, the comfort and the consolation I receive God is teaching me to turn to others to turn to the church and show you how to be comforted by the way I was comforted. The suffering you're going through is not just to teach you but to comfort you and bring you to a victory so that your wife can see it or your children can see it and you come out with joy and you come out with victory you come refreshed in the Holy Spirit so that you can refresh other people. We are not only called to be fishers of men we are called to be refreshers of men. And one day Paul looks down the road and here comes Titus and his heart is leaping and Titus who loves this spiritual father can't wait to get to Paul he falls in Paul's arms he said, Paul you'll never believe what happened he couldn't wait to tell him there's a revival in the church in Corinth people are repenting they told me to tell you they love you Titus goes to the Corinthian church and he sees the people repenting and the man who sinned had repented he's been restored to the church there's unity the false prophets are being exposed and Titus has been refreshed Paul suggests that that this refreshed man came to me and God who comforts those who are cast down comforted me by the coming of Titus and by a report that God's church still loves me the devil was a liar Paul could say the devil tried to tell me a lie the devil told me I was rejected the devil told me I'm not having any results I'm not effective but it's a lie listen to me please if God could open a curtain and give you a little insight to what God has in front of you and the open heaven that he has for you and the blessing of the Holy Spirit if he could show you he said the good things that he had prepared for those who love him he said if I could only show you you would rejoice but Paul the apostle said these things that have been promised he has shown to us by the Holy Ghost but we have closed our eyes I'm not going to preach long preach about five more minutes but I'm going to tell you now that this is what the Holy Spirit said to me just as sure as God comforted Paul by the coming of Titus and by a word from heaven that's all it was one refreshed man refreshing someone else one man with a good word and that word was God is with you now here's what I want to say today under this tent I am your Titus I am your Titus Gary was your Titus a voice came to a people who needed to be encouraged who needed to hear a word from heaven and I have a word for you not from Corinth but from the throne of God to everyone that hears the voice of the Lord the Holy Ghost is in you he is a well of living water he is a refresher of our souls and he wants you to go home refresh your way refresh your children refresh your church but you have to be refreshed here now the Holy Ghost doesn't have to come down the Holy Ghost is abiding right here you have to open up and you have to believe spring up a well he is living water shake off those heavy bands lift up your holy hands and begin to rejoice and be refreshed in the city dance before the Lord and say the Holy Ghost abides in me I'm going to leave this house refreshed in the Holy Spirit full of smica and I'm going to be a refresher I'm not going to walk around down and depressed God said you shake yourself he said you shake your feeble knees God said you rise up and you take authority in the name of Jesus and be refreshed in the Holy Ghost let him refresh you right now you've heard a word from heaven the Holy Ghost is coming to comfort you right now praise him as you worship him the fountain opens I'm not trying to work something up but God wants this to spread all through Nicaragua a spirit of refreshment a quickening of our spirit the weariness to go Lord heal every spirit comfort every sad heart oh Holy Spirit bring up in us a biting spirit we give you our hearts we worship you Lord we praise you receive from him right now just receive by faith my friends God is not mad at you I said God is not mad at you God is not mad at you some of you still have not broken free you have not yet broken free and the Lord stands by and so I want to bless you I want to lift your spirit I want to lift your heart I want to do something for you now Lord do it now not by the flesh but by the Holy Spirit of God oh Hallelujah let's just love the Lord we love you Jesus we praise you we worship you clap your hands and make a joyful noise unto the Lord clap your hands I'd like to close this conference with a shout of praise rejoicing because God is good God's word is making hearts there should be joy in your heart all the way home there should be joy from now until you get home let's praise the Lord let's rejoice
