...Philippians and the first chapter, Philippians chapter one. We have been looking a little at this joy, love letter. We haven't got some people expecting us to get through to the fourth chapter, and I'll meet you with the first nine verses tomorrow morning of the fourth chapter of this wonderful letter. And you know, this is, remember I said yesterday morning of this, ...injured, but he who has... ...the hate is going to boss... ...feared, also sure. Sometimes I feel I love you so... Now what would you think of a man like that? Now what would you do to a man like that? Wouldn't you just take the frying pan... ...the assured hope... ...his 140... ...to me, in me. Do you get the three W's? These are vital. On the back of a pound note in Scotland... ...were written these words... ...this piece of paper in your hand... ...which is the saver... ...have never can... ...your better trusting God... ...the man. Now did you get that? Now that was written on the back of a pound note. This piece of paper... ...in your hand... ...declares to you... ...that on demand... ...your 20 shillings shall receive... ...the simple promise you believe. It sets your mind as much at rest... ...as you possess. So crying to die but not of live... ...so that if you are in eternal life... ...you shall receive. Upon the first you can rest... ...which is the saver... ...which is the best. The bank may break... ...heaven never can... ...your safer trusting God... ...than man. Now will you take him at his word... ...and rest upon what he says. We were privileged to have in our home... ...while in Britain... ...two Jewish children. They came all the way from Berlin. They could only speak three words... ...five words of English. Yes, no, thank you, please. They were with us for seven years. They were doctors' children... ...possibly. The girl was eleven... ...the brother was seven. Cutting my long story short... ...one day we had an evangelist... ...he did something I never do with children... ...I sometimes do... ...something like fourteen of the oldest scholars... ...on the way home... ...Robert said to my wife... ...isn't it wonderful to think... ...all those boys and girls... ...they have trusted Jesus Christ for salvation. She said, yes, it is, Robert... ...but what about you? This is all in German, by the way. He says, I am saved, auntie. You're saved, Robert? When were you saved? She said, I was saved three weeks ago. Now we had noticed a change in the boy's life... ...and that's another evidence... ...of the witness, by the way... ...a changed life... ...but we didn't put it down for that. We made a purpose of not button-holding the young people... ...but pressing to a profession of salvation... ...Lord Jesus... ...I... ...he says, uncle... ...do you think Jesus would tell... ...will you do that today? Will you just take him at his word? He was working for the... ...will some people think... ...Jesus loves me... ...is that true? ...Jesus loves me... ...is I no fault? Now the capital A... ...in a short... ...be known unto you there... ...send a hundred and seven... ...Jesus can stand... ...again he says... ...I am a king... ...a friend back in Scotland... ...he says... ...may I see? ...they are here... ...it will come out... ...and he's all the dammit nature... ...which is still there... ...not one of us are out of danger... ...until we're in heaven... ...and something was taken a whole lifetime... ...to build up of a character and testimony... ...can go like that... ...in one unwatchful moment... ...none of us are out of danger... ...and this man... ...you know... ...when I owe that to that... ...he just stands still right there... ...and say... ...Lord... ...see what I'm getting at... ...I believe he's depending upon the Lord... ...illustration... ...a young girl... ...teenager... ...a very sweet girl... ...a very... ...and it spoiled her completely... ...and you know what God means to this girl... ...one day in God's favour... ...and he transformed her whole life... ...she began to pray... ...and it moved her when he said... ...my... ...that girl is developing... ...she's maturing... ...how she went on... ...month after month... ...went up to him... ...he said... ...you know... ...you're leaving us behind you... ...behind you... ...you're developing... ...your spiritual life is... ...far beyond ours... ...we've been safe for a long time... ...but you're letting... ...you're never tempted to lose your temper... ...so the girl said... ...in a sweet way... ...she said... ...yes... ...sometimes I am tempted to lose my temper... ...but you see... ...when Satan comes knocking at my hard door... ...asking me to fly off the handle... ...I just say... ...Jesus... ...will you please answer the door... ...and when Satan sees this... ...I'm sorry... ...I'm at the wrong door... ...and passes on... ...it's simple... ...but have you learnt that? ...have you learnt that? ...I believe depending on the line-up of the Lord himself... ...all the youthful Christians... ...and ours... ...he becomes radiant... ...he's a radiant Christian... ...r-e-d-i-a-n-t... ...you probably didn't get my r there did you? ...radiant Christian... ...and it says... ...that's your joy isn't it? ...you know that joy don't you? ...and he... ...he's an expectant man... ...he is expectant... ...I love that you know... ...but what is he expecting? ...he's expecting his Lord... ...he's his Lord... ...the few little bolts that are all tied... ...to see him face to face... ...it means super... ...to establish... ...forever with him... ...to be with him... ...evermore... ...we shall be... ...these words... ...it's necessary... ...for... ...let him say... ...I'm... ...simple illustration... ...a little boy was born blind... ...you women never get like that you see... ...so I tell you I'm alright... ...sit at home a bit... ...they put against the wall and said... ...tell me what's the matter with you... ...I want to know... ...she began to cry... ...oh you women try to hide a lot from us don't you? ...we know a bit more than you think we know... ...you see... ...and so she says... ...tell me... ...an interview was arranged... ...the doctor examined the boy's eyes... ...and he said... ...I'm sorry... ...there's very little hope of your boy ever seeing... ...but I'll operate... ...I'll do my best... ...they agreed to the operation... ...some days afterward the father and mother were sent for... ...there was a nuisance at the band... ...she came to that pad of bat and wool... ...it was a breathtaking moment... ...they were standing at the tip of expectancy... ...will he be able to see... ...after some moments... ...he looked up at the ceiling... ...he looked down at the floor... ...there was a table sitting in front of him... ...he could see the table... ...he looked out and he saw his hand moving for the first time... ...he looked up and he saw his mummy and his daddy for the very first time... ...someone said to him... ...aren't you now happy you can see... ...he said I'm extremely happy... ...but please... ...I want to see the man... ...to open my eyes... ...when the professor was brought in... ...he was just sitting next door waiting for the results... ...when he was brought in... ...childlike the boy clasped his hand and looked up and said... ...thank you sir... ...for opening my eyes... ...do you know something beloved... ...it may be this very day... ...that we too... ...shall be ushered... ...right into the immediate presence of that lovely man who opened our eyes... ...and we're going to thank him... ...face to face... ...shall we pray... ...for a moment of silence... ...now I'm sure there's something you've got to thank the Lord for... ...just do it right now... ...has he revealed himself to you in some particular way... ...some poisonous creature been precious to you... ...has he brought the assurance of salvation to your spirit life... ...has his meeting proved to you you're not saved... ...and you want to get the matter settled... ...then tell him... ...bless thy word oh God reach heart this morning... ...may the purifying effect of this blessing to hold grip us... ...mold us... ...fasten us more and more... ...in the glorious image of our beloved Lord Jesus... ...may we be kept to a tip to of expectancy... ...through Jesus Christ our wonderful Lord... ...Amen.
