Sermon Transcription
Do not imagine that it is an unmitigated prosperity or great good. Oh, there is an inbuilt disease there. So, already we have a spate of divorces and drunkards and wild livers arising from this present prosperity. Economic boom. There are no moral resources or safeguards for these nations. They have never acknowledged their debt to the Bible. The very concept of liberty comes from the Bible. There is no true liberty without the Bible. Slavery of any sort cannot exist, co-exist with the Bible. You cannot keep the Bible in your hands and live the life of a hypocrite. It is impossible. Your conscience will condemn you. Your children will grow up and say, Have we learnt evil from you? Your sin will find you out. So, anyway, many people who love the platform, I hate to see them on the platform. I hate to see such people coming to the platform. But, the platform is fraught with danger. The only way to remain and endure in your life or ministry is to establish this law in your heart. What is it? I must decrease. He, Jesus, must increase. So, anyway, it is in inverse proportion. The more down you get, the glory of God is seen more. But, many people have got this proportion wrong. They think, Oh, you know, I need to change two quotes in this broadcast. I must change my tie twice. And then I will make a hit. I will gain these people. I will score hits on their pockets, wallets. Yes. Preachers that can only shoot at wallets. They are the enemies of righteousness. May God save our pulpits from such preachers. Now, my dear friends, God has established a law. God has established a law. Exodus chapter 30. You know, either God did not want people to gloat in numbers or in the arm of their flesh. So, anyway, He did not favor the counting of people. So, anyway, 12th verse. When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the Lord, when thou numberest them, that there be no plague among them when thou numberest them. What in that? You need to pay a ransom. Lord, I have committed some sin. Lest a plague should come upon me. Lest a plague should come upon me. You know, friends, statistics, sometimes they equate it with what it costs to gain one member in the church.
