It warns against seeking comfort and material wealth at the expense of true sacrifice and spiritual growth, highlighting the importance of self-denial and prioritizing God above all else. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oh, you get new strength. But if you fail to do that, and accumulate earthly goods, and become a lover of comfort, you will rot from the inside. A surgeon told me some days ago, we removed so much of the intestine, some of it was dead, and the unbearable stench, people were going out of the operation theatre. Under those conditions, we worked and finished the operation. All right. Internal rot, and God says, in the same chapter, third verse, the spirit of Egypt shall fade. You know, my dear friends, when your spirit fades, it is very hard to sustain life, or prosperity. The spirit of Egypt shall fade. This is God's verdict. So if the spirit of Egypt has come into you, Oh, I don't want to be disturbed. This is very nice and comfortable. Nice flow of cash. I don't want to be disturbed. Don't disturb me. My dear people, know that what you are pursuing is doomed to fail. He who gives will receive. He who lifts the weak will be made strong. And but a person who luxuriates in a retreat, Oh, that's all fine preaching, but not for me. See, what is the spirit of Egypt? Don't make sacrifices that really hurt. Just the surplus, the superficial, you can give. But be careful. Save your own soul. Save yourself. What did Jesus say? He that saveth his life shall lose it. So don't let anybody weep if God calls me while I am preaching. No cause for weeping. Because, he that loseth his life, that's the way to live. Not trusting in Egypt. You know, when I see trust in gold and jewels and big celebrations at marriages and big shows, I am going to run out of those marriages. God's spirit will not be there. God's verdict is against the spirit of Egypt. My dear friend, you know, before I went as a young fellow to Europe, the Lord granted me a great blessing. I went alone outside the mountains, hill station. Nobody in our world normally goes. I would sit by the lonely roadside. And I was praying. Old Joe must die. He must be crucified. And the Lord granted me. And then as I went for my first missionary journey, I was appalled by Europe. In the very first stop, I saw that my own experience was inadequate for the wickedness there. So I cried to God. Yes. When you cease to grow and appropriate more of God's sanctifying power, the waters rising around you you heard of Peter this morning.
