It emphasizes the need for a spiritual awakening, echoing the words of Tozer and Ravenhill about recognizing the need for revival and not being content without it. The speaker notes a shift away from dependence on religious activities towards a deeper focus on Christ and genuine revival. There is a call for a return to theology and fervent prayer, acknowledging the universal need for spiritual renewal beyond just the United States. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I believe that our country is in a very morally decadent state today, and I believe that once again the churches are to blame. A judgment must begin at the house of God. As goes the church, so goes our country. But I really feel like that we need a baptism of seeing clearly, much like Tozer said, recognizing our great need for God. I was thinking a moment ago of the words of Leonard Ravenhill, who said that the reason that we're in the state we're in is because we don't want revival, and the reason we don't want revival is because we're content to live without it. And I see these days that there are just so much dependence upon religious activity and just the way churches are, but something that is encouraging to me is in recent days there is a drop in attendance in mega churches. People are not being satisfied, they're not being fulfilled, and they recognize there's just a lot of chaff there that they need to learn to look to Christ and the substance of his person for real revival. So I am encouraged by what I hear and see, a return to theology and a return also to urgent prayer, but the United States of America doesn't have a monopoly on spirituality. We're in great, great need. Our churches are, and I believe that's the reason you're here, is an acknowledgment of that. ======================================================================== Video: https://sermonindex2.b-cdn.net/VD4DK5MkHLM.mp4 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/don-currin/a-baptism-of-seeing-clearly/ ========================================================================
