======================================================================== PRAYERS GOD DOES NOT ANSWER by Bill McLeod ======================================================================== Summary: The sermon emphasizes the importance of praying with joy, confidence, and faith, and trusting in God's goodness and sovereignty to answer our prayers. Duration: 55:31 Topics: "Prayer Life" Scripture References: Isaiah 35:5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In this sermon, the preacher discusses the prevalence of violence and corruption in society today. He shares two stories of individuals being attacked, one of whom was saved by a stranger while the other tragically died. The preacher emphasizes the importance of love and respect within marriage, citing Ephesians chapter five. He also highlights the connection between moral corruption and violence, stating that breaking God's laws is praising wickedness. The sermon concludes with a call to cleanse one's heart and mind and to avoid anything that leads to corrupt thinking. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I want to read from Philippians chapter 1. Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus, who are fillified, to the bishops and deacons, grace be unto you and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always, in every prayer of mine for you all, making requests with joy. That's a great statement. Making requests with joy. Praying with joy. Praying with joy because we know God is going to answer. For your fellowship of the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ, even as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. How greatly I long after you all, in the compassion, your love may abound yet more, without offence, till the day of Christ. Being filled, I want to bring a message on prayer. These meetings are, I don't have a text, I have many texts. By the way, you help us. I think, in the Bible altogether, but there's over a hundred places, in sincerity, these three areas. Let me give you a great example. So when he prayed, when he was 85 years, then I had a larger, well that tells you, Nathan the prophet, he likes to be, now he said, now pray. Well all born drunk, and they were praying, never touched liquor again. All born drunk. The Christian life began, and then the Christian life was carried, quite a connection, a good connection. Now we may not have the opportunity to do that. It leaves, it brings joy to me. God is working. So it brings glory. You have not chosen, but whatever you ask of God, all that is never parted. Now I say, now I like to say, tears or liquor, we all know that. Job said, in Job, but I'm not heard. Most times people say, a wonderful person, as if he was not. But in those 96, he that covers, whoso comes back, but he that hardens his heart, and he just, you sound to me, the Lord's hand is not short. I remember once in a meeting, not many people there, and I said this, when I was committing adultery, people tell me this, well I pray and ask God, you know something's wrong, you know, now you tell me you did that, and you didn't come in. So who's lying? You or Christ? I said, when you ask me to come in, would you pray this for me? And this time, something happened. Believe me, believe that you have received. You may not see anything happen, immediately, maybe not for a month, maybe, and he said, believe me, Jesus asked you, he didn't heal you, he didn't go over to that, and he's telling you to have it, and he said, there isn't anything, you know, in Zechariah 7, people say, well what kind, she takes the place, my wife could take, and beyond that, 1 Peter chapter 3, husbands, you're to love your wife, as Christ, and it goes on to say, you're to, it also says, you're to love your wife, we were in a church one time, my wife was, as the church is, now he may make decisions, and if he's wise, you have all this, the problem was, he was a Christian, and I don't think she was exaggerating, because if God said, we would have come into reason, I apologize, well you know, we have some, when he came home, I said, three of those Bible fathers, woke up, now if you're dealing with a kid, you know, honor your father and mother, it's a person, he went home, found his dad, my real problem was not health, so he went to the police, gave him, God saved him, God made man upright, and it meant, mental happiness, sorrow, of having sex with someone, the internet will help, men will be violent, when you break God's law, David said, it's an awful story, we need to be clean, my sins, my iniquity, you like people say, sometimes, God, well in James 1, it says, if you lack wisdom, and I really believe, you know what happened, father, oh, God, small, great, thank you for who you are, ======================================================================== Audio: https://sermonindex1.b-cdn.net/18/SID18308.mp3 Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/bill-mcleod/prayers-god-does-not-answer/ ========================================================================
