======================================================================== THAT I MAY KNOW HIM by A.B. Simpson ======================================================================== Summary: The sermon emphasizes the importance of knowing Jesus personally, rather than just knowing about Him, and how this knowledge brings glory and power to our lives. Topics: "Internal Cleansing", "Purification Rituals" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DESCRIPTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the sermon 'Sprinkled', the preacher delves into the significance of rhantizo, meaning to cleanse by sprinkling, particularly in a religious context. This term is used in Hebrews 10:22 to symbolize internal cleansing of the heart. The act of sprinkling, whether with blood, water, or oil, played a crucial role in sacrificial rituals in the Old Testament, signifying purification and consecration. The preacher emphasizes the importance of understanding the symbolic meaning behind the act of sprinkling in various biblical contexts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTENT ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Better to know Jesus Himself than to know the truth about Him, for the deep things of God are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. Paul's great desire was, that I may know him. Not just know about Him, or the mysteries of the wonderful world, or even the deeper and higher teachings of God, but to enter into the Holy of Holies where Christ is, where the Shekinah is shining, making the place glorious with the holiness of God. it is to enter into the secret of the Lord Himself. it was what Jacob strove for at Peniel when he pleaded with God. God has given us he light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6). That is the secret. It is the Lord Himself, and nothing else; it is acquaintance with God; it is knowing Jesus Christ as we know no one else. It is being able to say not only "I believe Him, but "I know Him. "It is being able to say not only "I know about Him," but "I know Him." That is the secret above all others that God wants us to have; it is His provision for glory and power, and it is given freely to the single- hearted seeker. ======================================================================== Source: https://sermonindex.net/speakers/ab-simpson/that-i-may-know-him/ ========================================================================
