| Am I Missing Something? | | Dear S.I. Brothers & Sisters,
I bring greetings in the Name and Love of Jesus Christ. I want to bring this to the forum because it is troubling my spirit.
I belong to a ministry that claims it does not adhere to the Word of Faith doctrine, Positive Confession, or any of the other "movements" that have swept the Church as of late.
This thread is not an invitation to debate weather the above mentioned are Biblical or a legitimate moves of God or not.
I just want to know how I can reconcile the fact that for a ministry that claims it does not endorse the "Faith" movement, give a platform to a very controversial preacher like Morris Cerullo at one of their biggest mens conferences?
I cannot understand why the leadership of this ministry would invite Morris Cerullo as a speaker to address the thousands of men that are the leaders and future leaders of this ministry.
Am I missing something?

| Re: Am I Missing Something? | | Hello, I don't know the person mentioned, which is probably just as well, ;o) but I thought I"d share this with you. I hope it helps. "When someone SHOWS you who they are, believe them."

| Re: Am I Missing Something? | | I'm afraid we've entered the Apostasy from Truth friend.
Few want to hear that, but I can see it from the difference from 30 years ago.
We don't like to here the words "sound doctrine" or "absolutes" in Truth anymore. Most say, "we can't know what's really True Truth."
We get nervous when someone even says "Truth" or even "Doctrine" anymore.
You've not missed anything, if that's the case, and you're not part of it. Sounds like they are though. Sad huh ? |

| Re: | | Yes it's very sad. If I was to ask the church leadership why this man was allowed to address the future leaders of this ministry, I would probably be labeled as devisive or judgemental.
I did not attend the conference, but I am a member of this ministry. Thats why it is troubling me...

| Re: | | I'm sorry brother. I know this pain you feel. There isn't much you 'can' do, because that 'is' the response you'll receive ... but it wouldn't hurt to respectfully request a hearing with whomever is in charge and pose your question just as you have in your first post here.
That's about all you can do.
I see so many coming out and looking for like-minded brothers and sisters.
Where I'm from, they're all in house-fellowships now.
I'm sorry and I sincerely grieve with you. I think of Jesus Prayer in John 17, "that they may be one, as You and I are One." .... Someday friend, someday !
Keep the true Faith. He'll BLESS you. Sometimes He just says, "Come away my Beloved" and we learn alone with Him the most.
God Bless you deeply.

| Re: | | Morris Cerullo sent a friend of mine who is mentallly disabled a letter saying he could join his council of elders for a contribution of $1000.00 dollars. Fortunately he showed this to some people who were able to guide him in the right direction. These are not the type of characteristics that should be passed down to future leaders.

I refuse to judge whether Hagin "loved Jesus and His people", but one thing I do know: Hagin was a false teacher, plain and simple. His writings and teachings should be avoided. His teachings of WOF doctrine has done more damage to the cause of Christ than any other psuedo-christian movement in the last 100 years.
When I was first saved I got caught up in WOF because I didnt know any better, and the church we attended in Knoxville TN was basically an extension of Rhema Bible College (which Hagin started)... so I know what I am talking about.
They all need to be marked and avoided just as scripture commands us to do:
Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Notice Paul didnt tell us to read their books and go to their conferences.
