 The Cry on the Cross

Quote:
My God. my God. why hast thou forsaken me?

----- Matthew 27:46 KJV

Is the cry on the Cross unfathomable to Us?

What is a Our veiw of Jesus? Do we see Him a martyr?

Who can measure the height and depth of Our salvation?

Re: The Cry on the Cross

Jesus is not nearly a martyr (witness) but rather the very Son of God and God made flesh. He died for all humans who have sinned and has redeemed them all to God. It was God's right arm wroughting salvation for Himself.

Re: Not nearly a matyr ...

I would agree not nearly a martyr.

In fact, I would say not a martyr at all.

For if Jesus Christ was a martyr, I would have to think Our salvation is a myth. We would have followed cunning devised fables if Jesus Christ is not all this cry of His on the cross in Matthew 27:46 represents Him to be --- the Incarnate God becoming identified with sin in order to save men from hell and damnation.

Who can come near the threshold of understanding the experience of God forsakeness that Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ experienced?

Is it possible for a man to come near the threshold of understanding this Jesus experienced?

Has any man ever come near it?
