| French English Bible | | Dear Friends and readers,
Help needed
Where do I go to find a bi-lingual Bible - French/English?
Both paper and internet versions are needed.
Blessings, Lars

| Re: French English Bible | | Hi Lars You can create your own Parallel Versions from the Bible Tool site. Just choose what you want and it will display different versions in different languages side by side.
Choose your 'base' bible from the left hand frame, then click parallel, and then choose another version. Enjoy _________________ Ron Bailey

Thank you, dear Ron, for this valuable hint. I will be able to solve part of the problem by using this option. But we still need to find an easy-to-handle toolö for friends who do not use the Internet that often, and for friends that will begin working in France and therefore need a paper edition. Lars

| Re: | | Hi Lars I have emailed my son and daughter in law. They lived in Paris for a while and I know my son used and English/French version. I will forward details as soon as possible.
I am away from home for the weekend so it may be a few days before I can let you have the info.
They are well placed to recommend such things. My daughter in law is a very clever linguist; Finnish by birth but very fluent in Swedish, French, Italian, Spanish and a little German! Some people! and here I am still struggling with English ;-) _________________ Ron Bailey

| Re: French English Bible | | Bonjour Monsieur Lars: Comment vas-tu?
Have you tried contacting OM (Operation Mobilization)? Not sure if you are looking for many, or just 1 copy? Also, since there are so many Mus--- in France you might be interesting in getting an English/French-Arabic copy (s) as well.
Bonne journee. A tout a l'heure! Trish _________________ Patricia

| Re: | | Lars I am pursuing this on several fronts but I came across some information which may also be relevant to your uses.
Such a parallel Bible would most likely be the KJV text and Louis Segond text. These translations were translated from different Greek texts, consequently an attempt at "matching" the English and French may not give you quite what you are seeking. _________________ Ron Bailey

As far as a computer based version goes, E-sword could be a good choice here. The program is offered free of charge and it provides a simple way to look at two or more translations side by side.
There are numerous English translations avaliable with E-sword and two in French, the French Darby Bible and the French Louis Segond Bible.
May God bless you yet more!

| Re: | | Lars Still struggling to make progress on this. I received this today. Michael Marlowe is a fount of knowledge on these things. If he doesn't know of such a version I begin to wonder if one exists.
Hi Ron,
Sorry, but I don't know of any English-French parallel editions.

Am still pursuing some folks in England who were missionaries to France for many years, and an English family I know that now lives in France. _________________ Ron Bailey
