Communists plan to 'eradicate' places of Christian worship

Vietnam officials in tribal areas vow to "fight religion," according to a secret document obtained by a U.S. group.
The document issued earlier this year by a local Vietnamese Communist party branch reveals an official policy of forcing ethnic minority Hmong Christians to give up their faith and of "eradicating" Christian meeting places, reports Freedom House's Center for Religious Freedom in Washington, D.C.

The document, from the Muong Nhe District Party Office, dated Feb. 25, describes a comprehensive campaign by Communist party and government officials, in partnership with the police and military.

The campaign was scheduled to have been waged from March 2 through June 30, but because of the remoteness of the rural district, its implementation has not been confirmed, Freedom House said.

Re: Communists plan to 'eradicate' places of Christian worship

This is a good sign for Christianity in Vietnam. In China, Chairman Mao's wife said that Christianity was dead in China. The opposite has been the case but the cost has been many lives.

What will happen in the West when true believers are persecuted for their faith? I'm too frightened to even pray about this because the state of the church (much of it anyway) is in such a woeful state.

One of the most riviting books I ever read was "Tortured for Christ" by Richard Wurmbrand. He tells of his horrific experiences tortured under the communists and how believers still expressed the love of Christ towards those who tortured them.

Amen. I'm afraid that the suffering I have read about and continue to hear about is so severe that we can't even relate to it here in the U.S. We may well see those days before its all over. This is why I believe we need to give ourselves in study, reflection, and prayer about the persecuted Church. Reflecting on their sufferings bring the proper prespective to our Christian lives in the midst of such a shallow Western Christianity.

check this out

1Pet.1: 7 - That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold
that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at
the appearing of
Jesus Christ.

the refining fire of God is in persecution. whoever at this time has made the mistake of calling him/herself a Christian without giving him/herself over to God through Christ and doesn't do so soon will simply not be able to endure the coming persection. Those who endure persecution do not do so of their own strength but by God's grace. Let us fall on our faces and repent repent repent and repent some more and give ourselves over to God that we may be vessels of mercy rather than vessels of wrath.

 Re:

Another encouraging, and awesome piece of scripture on this is the first section of James, 1:2-4.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything."

Grace and Peace...

indeed it is a joyous thing to endure persecutions for God's sake for it is God's own grace at work for all to see.
