| The beginning of the end? | | It's no news to most of us here that He is coming back very soon. But God had alot more to do with Hurricane Katrina than you might think. For instance New Orleans could be considered the Sin City of our nation. I remember as a kid walking down Bourbon Street after a football game (or something that usually gets that street going) and just being scared out of my mind by the evil presence lingering over it. The name Katrina, ironically enough, means 'to purify or cleanse.' Can anyone see where I'm going with this?
In August of 2004 there was a very prophetical man preaching throughout the churches in Louisiana. He's fairly famous from what I've heard however I don't remember his name. In almost every city he preached at he prophesied New Orleans being flooded and the people fleeing to the North. But what REALLY get's you thinking is that on August 29, 2004 he preached and prophesied within the vicinity of New Orleans... Almost an exact year later Katrina hit land and devastated the city, flooding it's streets and causing the majority to move northward.
But back to the purification. I really think it lived up to it's name's meaning. Alot of the casinos down there in Mississippi and what not have been wiped out almost completely.
Another thing I think the number 11 means devastation or something. Well Monday, the day Katrina hit land, was the 29... 2+9=11... right. Just a thought.
I have some scriptures on all this that seem to be rather fitting to the whole situation but I can't find them at the moment, I'll find them though.
I think alot of us here can say the Lord has something big planned in the years to come.
These are just some interesting facts to get you thinking. Post your comments and thanks for stopping by.
in His name, Leanord
P.S. sorry if I posted in the wrong section or something :-( |

Can you prove that is the meaning of the name? Give us a link to your definition. _________________ Bryan

| Re: The beginning of the end? | | I would like to comment on a couple of things in response to this post.
First, the name Katrina does have reference to "pure" but I don't know if you can go so far as to say it means to purify or to make pure. I also don't know if we can take these things and make them into a prophetic thing. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Let us consider these things but not be hasty to say it as thus sayeth the Lord.
Also, the man who you say made the prophesy was I believe was Chuck Pierce. He is closely associated with the Toronto movement and others in the prophetic movement such as Bickle, Joyner, Clement, Wagner, Sheets and the list goes on. I would use caution with giving ear to these ministries.
The last thing I would like to say is it seems like there are a lot of new members that the first post the give is something along these types of subjects. I think most people that have been in constant fellowship on this site for many months and years would be very blessed if you are new to first introduce yourself and maybe tell the brothers and sisters a little about you and allow people to get to know you. That's just how I feel. I say this in love and not as a rebuke, but just a suggestion.
God bless you all,

| Re: Katrina Meaning | | The meaning can be found on any name website just google in 'name meanings' and then search for katrina and it should say something along the lines of 'pure, virginal, cleansed.' Sorry I don't have time to grab a link at the moment. |

| Re: The beginning of the end? | | I have no problem with the hurricane being God's judgement, although I don't know His plans of this nature, and I don't claim to have any knowledge of these types of things over what anyone else does. I don't know for sure the hurricane was His judgement, but I must say the shoe seems to fit awful well.
The hurricane doesn't change anything with us, though, as 'the beginning of the end' of our world started in the Garden of Eden. _________________ Hal Bachman

Use caution?? Uh ... how about avoid completely!!
I alluded on another thread about a church I used to attend before the Lord led me out of the whole WOF Charismania movement... and that church is closely associated with Morning Star Ministries out of Charlotte. That is Rick Joyners ministry. I'm telling you folks... run, do not walk, away from these "ministers"!
Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Consider them marked. Especially a man named Bob Jones (NOT the Bob Jones of BJU fame... different guy)

| Re: The beginning of the end? | | Many local Christians in my community echo the sentiments about this hurricane being a form of God's judgement on this city.
My sister told me yesterday how she and her husband had been there, walked the streets and felt the spirit of evil there. Friends of mine who have been to the Gulf coast where the casinos are will say the same thing about it. One went in to eat at a casino because the food is reputed to be so good and inexpensive. She said never again! The atmosphere was so evil. I never was there so I cannot speak from experience. But I trust my friends and sister.

| Re: | | Interesting thought on cleansing.
"Katrina" seems to relate to "catherine" .. correct me if i'm wrong
there was a remnant persecuted group of Christians in Europe during the early medieval period that were called the "Cathars", in their desire for "purifying" from the Romish practices that were already developing, even though I believe they pre-dated the heights of Romish domination of European life, which began to ensue after the 11th century

I don't think is does. It is the Russian equivalent of Catherine and simple means 'pure' as a noun. This, according to your reasoning, would mean the hurricane was 'pure' not that it had any purifying mission.
