“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” [Prov 4:23]
Guard your heart, meaning “watch over it in order to protect or control it.” Don’t give something so special to just anyone or to the things within this fallen world! Instead, fully give your heart to Christ through repentance and faith, let Him renew your heart from sin’s dirty stain, chains, heartaches, and the scars that sin deeply imprints within. [John 3, Ezek 36:25-27]
God is Still Speaking, Still Rescuing
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” [Psalm 34:18]
Are you hurting inwardly, has sin left its scars within you? Then cry out to your creator and sustainer. He promises He is always near the broken hearted, and He literally saves, brings salvation to those who are crushed within their spirits!
“My son [daughter], give me [God] your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways,” [Prov 23:26]
Bring your broken heart to Christ. He will certainly fix it for you! Begin to really go through His Word. Learn of the one who truly cares for you! Run to Him! I’m cheering for you from the sidelines. Standing in the Gap as He directs me too precious friend.
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” [Psalm 51:10]
Cry out to Him; He will hear and respond to your tears. Stay not in sorrow and sins piercing grasp. He will lift you out of this dreadful darkness and into His marvelous light through His Son Jesus Christ.
“Moreover, I [God] will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” [Ezek 36:26]
He wants you to know that He will not leave you in such a heartbroken and spiritually crushed state! Go to Him friend! He desires to reach out to you and give you a brand-new heart and a brand-new spirit. Oh, if you only knew His compassionate desires concerning you.
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your [new and cleaned] heart.” [Psalm 37:4]
Only look to Him and believe. Believe He died for you, believe He waits for your repentance and you to come to Him concerning all your needs, all that’s troubling and hindering you from true fellowship with Him.
Look to Him
“For He [Jesus] whom God sent speaks the words of God; for He does not give the Spirit sparingly. The Father loves the Son and has entrusted all things to His hand. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” [John 3:34-36]
We have a defective tendency to look to other mere human beings to relieve our burdens, sorrows, scars and inward loneliness. However, this will only end up creating more scars, and truly no human being can fix inward spiritual issues, loneliness, scars, sin, or even themselves! Humans cannot take care of someone else’s heart properly. Without true regeneration through Christ, even their own heart is defective! They themselves are dealing with the same things that are plaguing you. Dear precious friend, turn not to mere human beings but to Christ, the visible imagine of our invisible God!
Conclusion
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures….” [1 Cor 15:3-4]
The true remedy is Christ alone through repentance and faith in His finished work for you beloved! He knows you better than anyone else ever will, and He has no hidden agendas. He seeks to set you free, not keep you in this cage you found yourself in. Christ will set you firmly on the narrow path through His Spirit, which leads to life everlasting. If you let Him have your heart, things that happen to you will be for your betterment, instead of scaring, for spiritual growth, instead of belittlement, shame and stagnation, and He will be with you to walk with you every single step of the way friend. He truly sets the captives free.
Christ says lovingly and honestly, “come to Me, [not to church, not to a set of isms, not to man-made traditions, but to Himself! Christ is salvation Himself! Come to Jesus.] “All who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.” [Matt 11:28-30] _________________ Billy Witt
