"Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." (1 Cor 6:9-11)
There is a miasma commencing from within many institutional churches at this time that is, to be honest, not of God. Notice within the above text Paul made it clear that concerning names describing sins Paul used the phrase "Such were some of you." This means though they used to be a part of such things, but something took place that changed them to their very core! He then goes on saying what took place. "...you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." This was no outward washing Paul's talking about, but an inward washing, or purification! Then he tells us they were sanctified, set apart, Holy, or consecrated! He further goes on to tell them they were justified, declaring them righteous! These people were inwardly cleansed, set apart by Christ and the Spirit, and declared righteous through Him. They went through a real inward transformation! This is what being saved is supposed to be: an inwardly changed life. Instead, many leaders are declaring people saved who have never been transformed inwardly. They are merely cleaned on the outside through the water baptism, while the inside is left dirty! Paul warns us here that lacking an inward change equivocates to the Lake of Fire, not the Kingdom of God! Do not be deceived!
Jesus Explains this to a Leader
"Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; this man came to Jesus at night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus responded and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:1-3)
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Today, we have a lot of leaders baptizing people, telling them they are saved, and sending in their statistics to headquarters. I wonder, though, how many of all those declared saved in just the last 20 years were actually born again into new creations? How many could stand the test of "Such were some of you?" Instead, the leaders would have to say, "Such are almost all of you." They're still in their sins and now they've been declared saved by a guy who likely holds a religious degree! This method of quantity over quality, this business approach within the churches, these foolish traditions are leading people straight to Hell, but with the assurance of Heaven. Don't think you can be a part of such a scheme and you yourself escape consequence! You will be right down there with them, unless "such were some of you" becomes real in your life. I was once told such an untruth around the age of 8 so it is certainly a heart cry within me concerning others deceived in the same way.
"Nicodemus *said to Him, “How can a person be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.” (John 3:4-7)
Without real repentance in Christ's finished work on the cross, and the Holy Spirit Himself coming to live within there will not be any 'Such were some of you," unless there is a real twice birthing which changes a person inwardly. Please stop telling people they are saved, let the Holy Spirit tell them instead! Make certain they are really "such were some of you" people before confirming such a critical experience! Every soul is precious to God. The new birth brings forth inward cleansing, a new heart, a new spirit, and the Holy Spirit coming to take up residence within said person! (Ezekiel 36:25-27) Stop making salvation cheap and meaningless! It's a miracle, it's an inwardly changed life through Christ finished work on the cross, and if it didn't bring forth a new birthing it's not new life in Jesus, but a lie straight from the pits of hell.
"Nicodemus responded and said to Him, “How can these things be?” Jesus answered and said to him, “You are the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things? Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you people do not accept our testimony. If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven, except He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him." (John 3:9-15)
On closing with inward concern I must ask, are you inwardly born again through Christ's death and resurrection on the cross for your own sins, through repentance and faith? The guarantee of this being made evident within your life is that the Holy Spirit of God comes to live within you changing you forever inwardly so that you will be a "such were some of you," person instead of a "such are almost all of you" person who ends up in the Lake of Fire! You must be born again! Repent and seek Christ concerning your sins, by faith walk through the cross entering into a changed life.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." (2 Cor 5:17)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," (1 Peter 1:3)
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." (Romans 6:4) _________________ Billy Witt
