Re: Open Arms Inc in the paper

I admire your obedience to the Lord, brother.

"For those who honor Me, I will honor" (1 Samuel 2:30)

Lord Jesus, thank You for brother Josh...Continue to equip him spiritually, financially and physically for this ministry. Thank You that he first of all gave himself to You and then to the homeless people in Escondido by the will of God (2 Cor 8:5).

Go with God, brother! May you find fulness of joy in His presence.

Sow faithfully the seeds,
make known to God your needs,
Watch constantly and pray
Trust God, He'll lead the way

He that called you will provide
He that sent you will supply
Though confusion, doubts arise,
He has made the all-sufficient sacrifice

And in the end through tears you'll see
"'t was Jesus glorified in me"
Then you'll understand the reason of all pain
and you'll triumphantly proclaim:
"My labour for Him, it was not in vain,
exalted be Your precious Name"

His servant,

Paul

 Re:

Praise the Lord!
Brother, may God use you more and more!
You are great encouragement!

Isaiah 58

5 Is this the kind of fast I have chosen,
only a day for a man to humble himself?
Is it only for bowing one's head like a reed
and for lying on sackcloth and ashes?
Is that what you call a fast,
a day acceptable to the LORD ?

6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
"If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.

11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

 Re: Isaiah 58

Tears_of_joy,

Praise the Lord for your selected text you posted. It just happens to be the unwritten 'heart' of Open Arms ministry. In fact, a local church had me come and share one Sunday to their congregation and that is the passage I taught from.

What a blessing for me to see this. The Lord continues to confirm the direction we are to go and how we are to live.

Blessings.

Re: I can hardly believe my eyes...

Somebody excited about Mathew 25:31-46 and all of Isaiah 58. Glory to God. More than that, somebody actually reaching out and making a difference where they are. Alleluia.

Sir, I was wondering if you have seen the documentary video called "Transformations". It is about 4 cities that were changed by faithful people who went there and prayed and begin to minister Christ to the hopeless. If not, you would be greatly encouraged to get a copy and watch it.

May God bless you richly as you go on with Him. I do hope you will be merciful enough to come back here from time to time and give us an up date. I like others realize that you are not about lifting "you" up, but the Lord Jesus Christ.

God bless you and keep you, lead you and guide you, and prosper all you lay hand upon, in Jesus' Holy Name I pray. Amen and amen.

Re: Open Arms Inc in the paper

Dear Josh, Praise God...

This brought tears as well, of joy and remembrance of my own time down there with you.

Almost hesitate, but for some more refrence to everyone else here, an older link:... Mike and Greg meet finally :P

... that relates back to Josh's ministry, his hospitality... I can only say that this still effects me in a personal way to this very day. The simplicity and genuine reality of faith in all this...

My heart and prayers are with you brother.

 Re: Praise God

Brothers and Sisters,

I am so encouraged with the things you are sharing. I have had people pray with me and the things that are being prayed in secret are being repeated back to me from other brothers and sisters all over the world...amazing (nothing really describes the encouragement and joy, the certainty of what God has done and is doing and is going to do).

Just wanted to say "May the Lord bless each and every single one of you. May He keep you in the love of His Son. May the face of the Father of Lights shine upon each one of you and may He give you His peace that surapsses your understanding. May He be gracious to you as He continues to mercifully lift up His countenance upon you and pours out His Spirit upon you, enabling and empowering us to BE the church, so we can, by His power, ready ourselves for that day when we see Him face to face."

Simple obedience is all He asks.
