Standing with Israel from a biblical perspective

As I have just come back from Israel
And as a Christian there is so much evidence for the bible we have there
Our saviour did not walk in new York or Paris he walked in Israel and he is coming back to Israel

Zechariah 14:4
4 On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.

99 percent of the bible we read happens there

I do not like the killing of life whether it is in Gaza or in Israel

Jesus is Jewish

When you walk round the museum of Israel and see the baal statues and the armour of Goliath or from a giant
You see a head of what a king would have looked like during the time of a king Israel

Or like me I have dug for artifacts in the foothills of Tiberius and seeing the black stone of the Galilee from the first century and the mustard seed plants and the bird flu over the sea of Galilee

You see mount Hermon where the transfiguration happened or you see in Magda a first century synagogue in which jesus preached from

Psalm 122
1
Psalm 122 A song of ascents. Of David.
1
I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD."
2
Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.
3
Jerusalem is built like a city that is closely compacted together.
4
That is where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, to praise the name of the LORD according to the statute given to Israel.
5
There the thrones for judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David.
6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure.
7
May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."
8
For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you."
9
For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.

The bible commands us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem

The new covenant was made with Israel which we part of
Jeremiah 31
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: note

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of

In this passage when it talks about the new covenant it talks that about the ordinances of the things like the stars and how God will keep Israel like the stars

Romans 11
1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, note

3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded note

8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. note

9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? note

13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; note

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. note

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: note

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. note

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. note

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. note

Hast God forsaken his people as it says in the beginning of this passage God forbid

The bible says in the last days all of Israel will be saved

My heart breaks at the moment as I know so many people in Israel as my heart breaks for those in Gaza
The thing is the land belongs to Israel as in the bible

Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrate

This covenant is confirmed in scripture
The Arabs want the complete destruction of Israel and they don't want it to exist

The Qur'an does not mention Jerusalem , the bible does

There are so many biblical sites in Jerusalem and most of them about 2 feet under because the Roman period dates about 2 feet under
You can go to the garden tomb or the baptism site of jesus or the many thousands of archaeology sites in Israel

I so wish that all the sites where recorded in virtual reality and I had all the archaeologialy records of the sites

As a Christian when I first went to Jerusalem I was in a prayer room and knowing that our saviour is going to land on the mount of olives and go towards the temple mount area

As you pass up towards say mount gilboa down the road you go pass where Gideon defeated his army on the dreaded road 60
That's what I love about Israel as the geography of the place
As you can work out the distance it would have taken Mary to get to Bethlehem

I cry for all my friends in Jerusalem and Israel who are part of the IDF as I have been meeting with them online on a weekly basis
It is so hard to know that your friend is fighting in the parachute regiment
I have worked in the hospital and see people die and I don't want to see my friend Josh die in the IDF and I worked with soldiers when I did the dig in Israel as they are just 18 year olds and just out of school as they have to do 2 to 3 years service straight from school

The bible comes to life when you are dealing with real life
Locations

When you see names in the bible with insciptions such as Hezekiah , Jezebel and others with there names on in the museum

There is so many sites I want to see and I so want to dig in Israel again and I am so longing for my saviour to come back and I know he is Jewish

I don't want my Jewish saviour to be angry with me because I did not love his people and I also didn't love his church aswell those Arabs who are Christians

Hi Dominic,

I will be praying for shalom in Jerusalem

That is awesome how you are there seeing all the bible artifacts in the museum and the buildings. I would love to visit Israel someday.

I believe that all the feasts mentioned in the Bible is a rehearsal of what is to come.

Please be careful there and I will be praying for your safety there as well.
Keep trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ. He will surely come to your rescue.

Shalom to you

Thanks for posting Dominic!

More Scriptures:

Psalm 122: 6-8 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
    and security within your citadels.”
8 For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”

Here are some prayers we were sent as suggestions for prayer over Israel:

O Lord God of Israel, You who keep Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. (Psalm 121:) You promised that with all Your heart and all Your soul, You would bring Israel out of all the nations where You had scattered them and that they would dwell safely in their own Land, never to be uprooted again.(Jeremiah 32:41)

(Amos 9:15) You said that the nation of Israel would never cease as a nation from before You as long as the ordinances in the sky remain. (Jeremiah 30:36) Remember Your covenant with Israel. Arise O God and let Your enemies be scattered. Let them flee from before You seven ways.

(Psalm 68:1) But let all who bless Israel be blessed. (Genesis 12:3) Help those who stand in the gap to give You no rest until together, we see Your salvation. (Isaiah 62) We pray for Israel's armies to be strong and courageous. Let their hearts not be afraid. For You, the Lord our God, are the One who fights for Israel against her enemies, in order to save Israel. (Deuteronomy 20:4)

We pray that no weapon formed against Israel will prosper and every tongue that rises against Israel be condemned. (Isaiah 54:17) We pray for freedom for those in captivity, and comfort for all who mourn in Zion. (Isaiah 61) Save Your people Lord, that the nations might know, there is a God in Israel. Amen.

 Re:

Mike wrote;
"But let all who bless Israel be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)"

Scripture says:
1 Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
4 So Abram went,...

The Lord clearly spoke to Abram in those verses.

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”
So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. (Galatians 3:8,9)
And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29

It is all about the Gospel, from the very beginning !
That's where the focus of the church should be.
But we lost it and pay the price.

Help us Lord !

 Re:

I’m trying to understand something. Jesus says He’s the true Vine which in the OT are the people of Israel. Jews are called branches as are we in Romans. The true eternal temple is Jesus and we are all precious stones. Is Jesus also true Israel in that He is the “seed” of Abraham. Aren’t Jesus and His people the spiritual Kingdom of God including all children of the promise and not a geographical place. Isn’t the New Jerusalem a people, Jew and Gentile, as one with Him as the. Bride? Jews and Gentiles, who are transferred into His Kingdom through faith ?

I know that the “nation” of Israel as a geographic place plays a central role in end times events. But, isn’t the entire focus of the time of separation of wheat and tares about gathering all of those born in Christ, Jew and Gentile, all part of one body, one tree, one temple, one kingdom, and one church.

It just occurs to me that Jesus is who we and Jews are joined to and end time events are merely a prelude to all of us being together with Jesus our mutual Bridegroom/Husband at last. Much of the discussion seems to be about us joining into the Jews when Scripture seems much more intensely focused on all of us being one joined into Christ. It seems to me that this is a distinction with a huge difference.

Amen, Markus.

The Lord Jesus said: “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad” (John 8:56).

 Re:

Hi Robert,

Quote:
Jesus says He’s the true Vine which in the OT are the people of Israel.

Where in scripture is it said that in the OT the people of Israel are the TRUE Vine?

Isaiah wrote of a vineyard:

Isaiah 5:1-7 –

Let me sing now for my well-beloved
A song of my beloved concerning His vineyard.
My well-beloved had a vineyard on a fertile hill.

He dug it all around, removed its stones,
And planted it with the choicest vine.
And He built a tower in the middle of it
And also hewed out a wine vat in it;
Then He expected it to produce good grapes,
But it produced only worthless ones.

And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah,
Judge between Me and My vineyard.

What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it?
Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?

So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard:
I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed;
I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground.

I will lay it waste;
It will not be pruned or hoed,
But briars and thorns will come up.
I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it.”

For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel
And the men of Judah His delightful plant.
Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed;
For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.
