My former coworker, Chris, who, up until last week, lived in my apartment complex, tried to kill another of my coworkers. Colin was visiting Chris at his apartment, with some other friends, when Chris stabbed him multiple times in the neck. Chris was saying Colin "needed to die and be sacrificed", and it was only the intervention of one of Colin's friends who tried to fend off Chris that Colin lived. Chris also assaulted two police officers and sent them to the hospital. He is now facing multiple charges, including attempted murder.I worked with Chris (and his father, mother and sister) for over a year. He is quite likely demon possessed, from what I observed. Please pray for Chris, that he would be freed from demonic bondage and find Christ, and please pray for Colin as well, for a speedy recovery and salvation. Colin was also stabbed two weeks before this incident in a separate altercation with two different people; he almost died and required 8 hours of surgery. Here is the article: https://www.timescolonist.com/local-news/campbell-river-father-was-recounting-how-he-was-stabbed-just-before-he-was-stabbed-again-family-says-7355880

Praying for those men and also for you and your protection.Markus
Thank you Markus. While I don't believe I am in any immediate danger, I appreciate your prayers for protection, as Campbell River has seen, it seems to me, an explosion of violence and drug use in the past few years. I've been out of that life for over 10 years, so these aren't people I spend any time with outside of work (I work in a seafood processing plant.) Drug use among my co workers is almost universal, even if it's only pot (they use other drugs, such as crystal meth, cocaine, alcohol, you name it.) Drug use goes hand in hand with violence.I think I need a new job. But I don't have the qualifications to get anything but a blue collar job, and it would be much the same situation anywhere else I could go.
It sounds like you are a well placed (and well qualified!) light in the darkness dear brother Nigel, for such a time as this. May Christ shine brightly in and through you as you love your co-workers and neighbors. I would hug you if I could right now. My heart goes out to you. Appreciate you brother! ❤️

Thank you so much Caleb, I appreciate your encouragement. I think God places all of us in situations where we have to lean on Him. It's easy to look around and get discouraged by all the evil I see on a daily basis. I have no friends to talk to and live alone so I am grateful for your kindness and prayers.
And I would ask anyone reading this to make Chris and his family the primary object of your prayers rather than me. While I appreciate the support the grief for his family must be unbearable. His father and mother, Willie and Yvette, lost their other son a few years back.
The situation you've described is truly distressing, and I extend my thoughts and prayers to everyone involved. I hope for Chris to find the help he needs and that Colin recovers fully from these traumatic experiences.
