 Re:

AbideInHim,

Have you not found Him dear brother? If you have, He has fulfilled those scriptures for you, and your seeking is in vain. How can you continue to look for what you have already found?

The only reason to seek something is because it is still lost to you, and Jesus promises we will find Him when we seek Him.

I have found Him, so I don't need to look anymore, just walk with Him.

I pray this revelation comes to your heart.

EDIT: What you said about church services is something the Lord has completely rid from my thoughts. Awhile back it was pressed upon me that my life needed to be such that if revival were to come in a meeting, nothing would change for me, because I was already walking with God and revived.

I haven't preached in over a decade. But when I was in CA a brother and I saw true revival in a fellowship where we preached. Directly after I was ruined in the pursuit of the experience and the Lord told me clear as day, that is to be the normal experience for me, day by day and moment by moment. We don't live in a Mosaic covenant, but in Jesus. We are that temple where the fire falls, and remains.

He fulfilled that promise, and He wants that for all His people, including you.

Yes Brother, I know the Lord, but even as the Apostle Paul prayed near the end of His life: “That I may know Him”, I am still seeking Him, because the more that He reveals Himself to me, the more I realize how big He is, how little I do know, and how much more He has for me.

 Re:

Knowledge of Him is exactly that, knowledge of Him. That knowledge is not Him. And herein lies the blockage for most believers.

He must teach us all in His own way the difference between experience, knowledge and Himself.

He wants to give us Himself, everything else is secondary. "Christ in you" - He Himself, nothing else. Knowledge only shows us what He is in Himself to us. And the farther along we go, the more we realize that He Himself is literally everything, and nothing is found anywhere other than His person, Himself.

"HE is made unto us..."

Re: A Statement to those seeking Revival

dear brother, that exhortation is from your pen?

if so, human words in response fail me, only amen and amen.

my name is neil, and i send agape to you.

(later add...brother, yesterday, praying, musing, pondering weighing...the Holy Spirit gave me two Words, "Vine" and "Branch", and i am led to ascertain divine importance to these Words, went back to the word index, and listed all Scriptural references to these Words, i have yet to eat of them, God willing, when i log off, i will do so)

 brother ES

you wrote:
"In the light of current events, I felt to bump this thread as the the entire purpose of the word I was given as my original post was to provoke Israel to jealousy, and in preparation for Jacobs trouble."

and this precious portion of Scripture popped into my soul from Habakkuk, chapter 1, and verse 5 (ESV)...dont know "why", but here:

"“Look among the nations, and see;
wonder and be astounded.
For I am doing a work in your days
that you would not believe if told."

i'm sure how it has not escaped you, and the other saints on this forum, that ALL of man's institutions are collapsing, political, financial, 'cultural', etc....but i see thru a glass darkly, hence, let my words be few, neil

“And brother the knowledge of him, it’s not head knowledge, it’s not knowledge of the Bible, but it is experiential knowledge that comes from the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

 Re:

Brother ES, I am usually in complete agreement with you in your posts which may scare you but is my joy to have a fellowship in truth. However, in the case of this discussion where it has arrived, I agree with Mike that when the church has slidden backwards, it must repent and find a rejuvenated spiritual understanding that "sees" Jesus even though He's always been there in their soul and in their midst (Laodicea). However, Mike, the day in and day out availability of the revelation of Jesus to the heart that comes from daily walking with Him in obedience and devotion, is not something to minimize which you might agree with but is not a widely held viewpoint in the pentecostal circles which i have associated with. That day in day out intimacy is the norm and the perfect. We are called to pray for (seek) that God would by His power strengthen us in the inner man so that we could know Jesus' love to experience it and thereby be filled with all the fullness of God. Mike, I know you fully support that prayer. If we prayed it, and received it, then revival would never be necessary. This daily communion and intimacy is to be the normative pursuit and state of the church.

I know you both know the things I said and I'm not trying to teach or to make peace but rather point to the truth that both of you are making an argument for. There is way too much emphasis on the spectacular or extraordinary for some that detracts from the daily grace of God that is miraculous, satisfying, transformative and gives God glory in the church which is the main point after all. A Christ supreme and Christ like church is so pleasing to the Father even if it becomes a boring pursuit to men. We don't need the show. We need Jesus to be Himself, as my brother said, in His people and through His people and that is revival, the exalting of Jesus. Renewing or reviving must have that as its end or I'm not sure what is the point.
