For thy unction, Oh Lord, we pray:
For it, all aside shall we lay;
Ease, help us to cast then away,
Until we win this sacred prey!

As we would have revival great;
If we should see glory of weight;
And shake death and Hades' gate,
Unction Devine must be in state!

Can beautiful voices melt rock?
Could a sweet frame prison unlock?
What can shatter Satan's padlock?
The mighty gentle Spirit's knock!

The king's business, little never;
Returning all to The Father,
From Island of chain and fetter ---
Nothing able, save divine power!
