"That is good to know. I do remember that all that barking stuff started after Toronto. This one church I went to sent some people to Toronto and they came back barking, I kid you not. It was like a virus they caught."Dr. Edwin Orr has many great teachings on Revival, and these teachings can be accessed on Sermon Index. Proponents of the barking phenomenon at Toronto referenced the Cane Ridge Revival. There was a minister there named Davenport that claimed there was barking in the frontier where there were many wild manifestations taking place. Dr. Orr in his research said that he could not find in evidence of barking except by Davenport. Dr. Orr said that there was a comment made by the author of "The History of the Baptist Church" that said that "The Baptists did not bark, but the Presbyterians did."

I have visited Cane Ridge Revival grounds twice, they have the original log cabin building. It is truly a solemn assembly there. The history of the revival tells of people that fell to the ground and went into trances for hours and even days but no where in all their notes and newsletters that I receive has anyone mentioned barking as an occurrence of that revival!!
