Roger Williams stated: "Gospel Church must be made up of such regenerate men, and calls them actual believers, true disciples and converts, living stones, such as can give some account how the grace of God hath appeared unto them and wrought that heavenly change in them."

I totally agree with him. And a huge problem today, is that this kind of "saint" is few and far between in the "church world". Those notable, or not so notable. The reality is there is little to no evidence of "new creation" life in them. Worse, from the pulpits, they are COMFORTED in their SIN. Oh what gnashing of teeth there will be come judgment day.

Charles H. Spurgeon said..... "God-given repentance makes men grieve in their inmost souls over the sin they have committed - and works in them a gracious hatred of evil in every shape and form!
"Repentance is to leave the sin we loved before and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more.""

How many times we've sang this? Is YEHOVAH not hearing our prayer? Or is it just a song of sentiment we sing, without ever having been made new? I can assure you beyond doubt or question, the problem is not with HAYAH. The problem is with satan and his perversion of TRUTH, and those who feed on his lies of compromise and doubt. Deviation from SOUND DOCTRINE to a faith of mere mental agreement, and confidence in the wisdom of men, or rather lack thereof, and all the preachers who preach the words of the unregenerate preachers before them.
TRUTH that excludes TRUTH, is in fact, NOT TRUE.
Satan specializes in this. So do denominations, caused by disagreement of man's interpretation and opinion, rather than HOLY SPIRIT revelation.

The great B.H. Carrol, fundamentalist preacher and theologian preached: "The preacher who leaves out repentance commits as grave a sin as the one who leaves out faith. I mean he must preach repentance just as often, and with as much emphasis, and to as many people as he preaches faith. To omit repentance, to ignore it, to depreciate it, is rebellion and treason."

What is it, that separates the tare from the wheat in our midst. REPENTANCE from the heart, and the lack thereof. The tare has no evidence, when ripened, of repentance in their life. While the wheat repents today, and tomorrow too. Ever despising his sin sick flesh, and denying it with HOLY SPIRIT power at every opportunity.

Men don't go to hell for their sins. Oh no. They go to hell because they refuse to REPENT - STOP SINNING. Is this who you are? Oh my, I hope not. If there is no gospel of repentance, there can be no award of GRACE. REPENTANCE, not immersion, is the FIRST transaction of SALVATION. The BLOOD has been shed. But without true heart felt determination to NOT SIN AGAIN, the blessing it provides, benefits no one. It will not wash away the stain of sin, without that sin being first REPENTED of.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Oh friend look beyond the preacher. Look to HIS word. Search the scriptures DAILY to see if these things be so.

Luke 24:46 And said to them, Thus it is written that the Christ (the Messiah) should suffer and on the third day rise from (among) the dead,
47 And that repentance [with a view to and as the condition of] forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
This day, this GOSPEL has been preached among all the nations of the world, and ye are witnesses of this TRUTH! So be it. Amen.

So as I read yet again, the above message, this paragraph suddenly leaped off the page and stirred me deep within. And of course, questions began to spring forth at the same time.
This line " Ever despising his sin sick flesh, and denying it with HOLY SPIRIT power at every opportunity" especially began to spring forth within. More questions, like, What if I/we set our heart today, to look for ways and opportunities to DENY AND DESPISE OUR SIN SOAKED FLESH? What if we prayed that should the HOLY SPIRIT remind us that we are hearing, viewing, or doing something this day, that is self centered, that HE also provide us with POWER to turn from it, and deny self, at every temptation, every lust? What if we just prayed and cried out, that THIS ONE DAY (all we have), to live PURE, and HOLY? For just ONE DAY?
Mat_16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
There it is!!! Who is it reading this very line, that says they are HIS FOLLOWER? Honestly, do you deny your SELF? Does the HOLY SPIRIT sound alarm after alarm within you, and you recognize HIM, and make the choice of PURITY and HOLINESS? Or does COMPROMISE immediately rise up within and STEAL this precious PURITY and HOLINESS, almost as quickly as it is birthed within?
I cannot speak for you or judge you. I can only judge and speak of my own wretched existence. When I "examine myself" in the LIGHT of HIS word, I see spots and stains of compromise all over this garment I've laid hold of. If HE has been leading me in purity and holiness, surely HE made a turn or I made a turn, and did not notice this change of course that strays from purity and holiness.
So again, what if we set our mind and our heart to OBEY HIM TODAY and not our flesh. What if we prayed for HIM to show us these things as they reach out to snare us, and impede our progress in following "The Way". Oh we all know "The Way". But are we as good at following HIM, as we are at preaching HIM? If we live through this day, as we lay down to close our eyes tonight in rest, can we find peace and comfort in knowing that we succeeded in a day of pursuit of purity, and holiness, no distractions. No turning to the right or to the left in following this NARROW WAY? PURITY!!!! Following HIM DEMANDS PURITY. If and as we stray, in obedience to this word, we leave PURITY by the wayside. We cease to walk HOLY (SEPERATE), and we separate ourselves from being HIS ambassador, more, HIS follower.
Please excuse me, I have some personal examining to do. I have some dirty spiritual laundry that must be washed in HIS shed blood. I must PLAN TO LIVE TODAY, as HOLY as I POSSIBLY CAN with HIS POWER working within me. My goal for today, is to live HOLY and PURE. I must cleanse this temple of all leaven that would cause my flesh to rise up and exalt itself in pride and lust. I must take up MY CROSS today, to keep my life in DEATH (to lusts and greed); I must deny my SELF, (my appetites and lusts for things impure and unholy), and I must follow HIM, no matter the cost. For HIS glory, honor, and praise -
