TEXT: NUMBERS 25:7-8
''And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;/And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.''
Injuries done to the church, is one done to Christ; and he who claims membership in the mystic body of Christ, yet is not touched and made angry by the grief of this spiritual entity, declares himself as one who neither has lot nor part in the body of Christ. Would the head not ache when the hand or leg or any part of the body is bruised? Is the withering of a branch not a sign that it is no longer truly joined to the stock? If we be truly connected to Christ, whatsoever grieves Him would doubtlessly grieve us. If the truth of Christ be trampled under foot in our very eyes, and sorrow for this be not found in us, The Holy Ghost would pen us down as irresponsible and and ones that fight under the flag of error. He who frowns not at errors, has tacitly taken up arms against the truth. Mourning, or expressing grief or sorrow for injuries done to the truth of the gospel is not enough: steps must be taken to remedy it. We must put out ourselves in physical efforts and attempts to defend the cause or truth. Silence is consent! Not to act against what is evil, is equal to the same evil act, just that it comes in different hue or colour. The line must be clearly drawn, as to where our loyalty lies! Dearly beloved, the house of Jacob is under attack by many an error; complacency in false doctrines walks up and down in Solomon's porches; abominations and damning heresies have come into the church unchallenged; and there is none to challenge this ills; none seems to care about the things of Christ: every one minds his own things not the things which are Christ's. Until one arises and act accordingly, the pestilence plaguing the church, shall never be stayed. Had one truly arisen amongst us to answer the spirit of errors into silence, the plague would have stopped. God needs zealots! Holy men and women, equipped with nothing, but the truth! _________________ Ojoje Adeyi
