| The Price You Pay | | Hello everyone, I'm back after a short break. I hope you all are doing well and are seeking Jesus with all your hearts. I'm going to try and avoid controversial topics/arguments from now on.
I just lost the job I had for 6 years. I was a supervisor and it paid a decent wage with good hours/bonuses/vacation pay etc. About 2 years ago they hired a new human resources person, and it became increasingly evident that he is a radical leftist. Recently he made all the supervisors/management attend something like "sensitivity training."
His opening statement was something like this: "Do unto others as they would do unto you is something that we have to abandon. You have to try and anticipate how you think people would like to be treated." He then went on to say that all white people have privilege, that all white people are prejudiced, and that capitalism is evil.
I have always been very open with what I believe (think "bull in a china shop"), and although I did not say anything right then (I would have been fired on the spot), I did voice my criticism to my fellow supervisors and other employees. What I said must have gotten back to this man, because on the 31st they called me into the office, told me my tenure was done, and to sign a form for severance pay. I considered suing them to keep my job, but didn't bother.
I thank God that all things work together for good to those that love Him (Romans 8:28). I was able to find employment again with the company I used to work for (albeit at a greatly reduced wage.) It was worth it and I would do it again. I can't sit idly by while people are fed this kind of garbage.
While praying recently I believe the Lord told me this kind of thing will increase greatly very soon (this was before they fired me). It's a tactic of the devil meant to silence christians (I made it a point to preach the gospel at every opportunity at work, something which management was NOT happy about.)
I'd like to encourage everyone on here to keep spreading the gospel no matter what the cost. God will always take care of your needs. _________________ Nigel Holland

| Re: The Price You Pay | | Hey Nigel good to see you back.
I am curious as to whether there was anything overtly “unChristian” about the new training, or whether it was more of a dispute over “wokeness.”
I ask because the company I work for is far more “woke” than I like, although I am fairly confident the CEO is a Christian (he actually prays at all company meetings sometimes) albeit he is more liberal than I would like. Some true Christians do lean left particularly on some social issues like anti racism.
While I am not a fan of the woke agenda, so far at work there is nothing that I would consider drastically non-Christian. For example, I would not consider the idea of “white privilege” as anti Christian. White privilege is a fact, whether we want to admit it or not, although I certainly don’t like the way it has been politicized.
So I was curious if this was going on at your place of employment. _________________ Todd

| Re: | | When the HR guy said "we should abandon do unto others as they would do unto you", that is specifically anti christian. Imagine if he inferred the same thing about a verse in the Qur'an. Liberals would go insane and say it's "islamophobic." Wokeness is itself incredibly anti christian.
Also, white privilege is not real. The highest median income earners in Canada and the U.S. are not white. Show me a current law in either of these countries that specifically benefits caucasians, or is detrimental to people of color. There aren't any. I have had to work, HARD, for everything I have. Nobody has given me any breaks for being white. Most of the non whites I know and have worked with have more money, houses etc. than most white people I know (not that I have a problem with them.) Canada bends over backwards to help non whites.
I'd say the one exception would be native people; I would place the blame on the reservations and the welfare system for many of the problems in their communities. Although, having said that, some of them make excellent money, well into 6 figure incomes. _________________ Nigel Holland

| Re: | | It is marxism at its core. Call it out for what it really is. Marxism is responsible for 100,000,000 deaths and that is because it is atheistic and therefore has no regard for human life (everything comes from nothing/randomness). Its going to get much worse real soon unless God intervenes. |

| Re: The Price You Pay | | It’s good to hear from you again 😇
praying you don’t take this the wrong way,... this is a good thing, an upgrade even ;)
You stated that you were simply practicing your faith as you have throughout your tenure and because you voiced that faith in opposition to a new system of social mandates which will ultimately put your faith at odds with your employment with this organization, due to you inevitably being required to deny your faith in order to comply with these social requirements effectively requiring you to conform to the image of the world or at least pretend to -
Perhaps this is an answer to a prayer... sometimes our prayers have unforeseen benefits that initially require a shaking,...
and the just shall walk by faith not by sight. (FTR) ...this didn’t surprise Him 🙏🏻

| Re: | | Platy, it is absolutely marxism. I'm glad there are christians that can see this. I am absolutely gobsmacked that any professing christian could possibly call themselves "woke."
Thanks Fletcher. I believe it is an answer to prayer, as it has been a frequent subject of my praying recently. I don't need to work for a company that calls me prejudiced because of the color of my skin.
Although I don't agree with much of what Malcolm X said, he was right when said "The worst enemy of the black man is the white liberal." _________________ Nigel Holland

| Re: | | Good to see you back Nigel and to read your testimony.
If I can just add a couple of comments: "Wokeness" probably has different levels and many Christians don't see a problem. But I think it is the same as the "boiling frog" parable. "A problematic situation that will gradually increase in severity until it reaches calamitous proportions, such that the people involved or affected by it will not notice the danger until it is too late to act..."
I agree we should "avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments, and quarrels about the law, because these things are pointless and worthless."Titus 3:9 I think we all need to be reminded of that.
But here is where I see the real problem: "AMERICA'S greatest sin and the real cause of the present depression is forgetting God. That means failure to obey God, to listen to His Word, and to bring up our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Godlessness leads to disregard for law, corruption in politics, fraud in educational and state life, and hypocrisy in the Church..." By Evangelist Joseph T. Larsen from the July 1933 Moody Bible Institute Monthly - written almost 100 years ago ! Of course the same applies to the rest of the world, especially the Western world.
"I'd like to encourage everyone on here to keep spreading the gospel no matter what the cost. God will always take care of your needs." Thank you for that, so important, so necessary to hear.
