For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. Rom. 6:20

A servant of sin is a slave to sin - A person in this condition sins all the time. He can NOT stop sinning. This person is free from righteousness - meaning nothing he does or does not do can make him righteous. The devil is his father and performs the desires of his father without effort or thought.

This person does the works of his father - satin. They can not help it because they are under the law of sin (operating system) making them entirely sinful and it is impossible for them to be anything else. At their very core and essence they are evil, this is who they are. All outward actions are evil even if they appear to do good.

A servant of sin does not accidentally or occasionally sin, it is not that they sometimes sin and sometimes do not. Sinning is a law to them and they constantly sin all the time and can not help it.

Can water be not be wet? No!!!!! That is its very essence and nature. It CAN not be anything different. A sinner is a sinner by nature because of his very essence and nature. He CAN NOT be anything different.

Many people who go to church are in this condition including many ministers and preachers. These people love darkness more than the light and their natural mind CAN NOT comprehend the things of God. NEVER!!!

The root of sin is self-centeredness a self for self and a love of self. The sinner has an individualistic heart of pride and self will (I WILL) and they are blind to see the fact that their own evil heart is causing them to be a self-centered person. That is beyond their sight then. An independent spirit is a self righteous self. They think that they can outwardly conform to the standards of the law. They attempt to conform their outward actions by behavior modification and sin maintenance programs but that is just an outward religion. The idea that we can make ourselves acceptable to God by changing what we or do or do not do is a LIE in it itself.

This person considers himself an independent self and thinks that he has the power to live out his own life by his own will and by his "free" choices. He thinks that he is the captain of his own ship and in control of his own life. NO! IT is IMPOSIBLE to be an independent self. This person is under the devil's domain and operating system. The devil is his father and he is forced to perform his works and has no freedom at all. His only hope is to be fathered from above and get a NEW heart and become a servant of righteousness.
