Lack of the Fear of God

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su6VYvQN1Zk

“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

The above passage is Christ speaking directly to his disciples. God in the flesh warning them not to fear other men around us but to fear God the Father! “Fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Some may argue, ” But Brother William, hell isn’t a real place; it is made up to scare people! God the Father would never send people to hell!” As one lady told me many years ago, “I can’t bear to even flush a goldfish down the toilet, so God certainly would never send people to Hell.”

It is rebellion that sends people to hell. Ignoring the Words spoken in the only Book that truly matters, those words concerning the One we must all deal with, Jesus Christ, will certainly be our undoing. How we deal with Him who all things were created both through and for will determine our eternity. God the Father has said in many ways and through a multitude of voices over the years for us to repent and in brokenness go to Christ in repentance to be washed, cleansed, and filled with His Holy Spirit, that we might live lives pleasing to Him who we ultimately must face. It is a continual walk, it is a daily walk we are called to with Christ. To obedience in Him!

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10

Christ said there is a Hell – that’s enough for me to solidify it’s reality. God forbid I speak peace when millions have and are heading to hell due to disobedience to God! It is time for the church to awaken and those mocking God to repent and obey! Christ warned John through an angel, the beloved apostle who rested His head on Jesus that there is coming a time foretold and when the time comes, “if anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb [Christ Himself]. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever [for all eternities] they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” Again “… Here is the perseverance [continued effort despite difficulties, or opposition] of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” Revelation 14:9-12 This place the disobedient will be condemned to is a real place filled with ” fire and brimstone”. For they would not obey the commandments of God, nor did they keep their faith in Jesus, abiding in Him Church of Christ. John 15:4-11

If Christ, our Messiah and Master, told His disciples to fear God the Father, then we must, through His Holy Spirit, realize He speaks to us as well concerning fear towards God the Father. God the Father is able to destroy, again literally destroy our body and put it into hell! Christ then takes this truth further into the spiritual realm, stating assuredly that just not the mere physical tent, or flesh we live within, but our very soul within us is at the Father’s disposal!

Once after telling a parable, Jesus’s disciples asked Him to explain it’s meaning to them. He did and it was written down so we too can glean from it. Truth that will manifest itself visibly at the appointed time to all.

“Jesus said, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man [Jesus Christ], and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the weeds are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. So just as the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and they will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth…” Matthew 13:37-42

“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times. Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen; to Him [Christ Jesus] you shall listen regarding everything He says to you. And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.” Acts 3:19-23

“So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling…” Philippians 2:12

Scripture reveals it is all about our relationship with Jesus Christ. What we decide to do with Him, with His Words, and commands will decide each of our fates. Only through Him can one walk rightly before God the Father; only through Him can our sins be cleansed continually. Only through Him will the Holy Spirit indwell us. We are called to abide in Jesus, if we are not abiding then we are not going to receive the benefits He bestows to those who do abide in Him. There are no benefits outside of abiding in Christ! All promises are only imparted through abiding in Christ. To abide one must walk in the light as He is in the light. All who say they are in Christ but do not walk in the light with Christ are liars and the truth is not in them. Now is the time to repent and come to Christ, and follow Him and truly begin to abide in Him. Time is ticking, and is lost once passed. What will we do with what time we have left?

“If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth…” 1 Peter 1:17
