I think Satan/ demonic spirits make predictions through people and work to make it come to pass. They can't know the future (they do understand bible prophecy though).

I can buy that Nigel. Makes sense.

Hey Billy-In regard to your examples, we do not know that the vision of Samuel was a demon, could just have easily been a God sent apparition. In regard to the fortune telling girl, we don’t know how accurate she was or even what she was actually doing. Many people flock to astrologers and fortune tellers and psychics who are nothing more than charlatans. Now I realize the text says she had a spirit by which she predicted the future, but we really don’t know all that was going on. I agree with Nigel that if a demon appears to predict the future it is because it is influencing humans toward a certain result, or that they have knowledge and intelligence and can make deductions.
I believe it was really Samuel. I just see those instances as things to consider from within God’s Word.Sree, I do agree with your experience concerning the issue. Certainly we all agree seeking such things is forbidden. As brother Greg’s post shows.

Yes, that is my point here.Jesus himself called Satan, the ruler of this world. Also, Satan told Jesus that he has the authority to give power and riches to whoever he wanted.
