Thou Shalt Not Lust - the Eternal Commandment

Dear brothers and sisters
May the Lord give us the full knowledge of His will in regard to this truth.
“Thou shalt not LUST (covet)”- yes “LUST” is the Greek word in the Septuagint. It is also the word Paul used in Romans 7 where he revealed that he would not have known “LUST” except by the Law. In seeking to keep the Law, the battle with “lusts” of the flesh arose and he came to the realization that it was SIN (indwelling sin) producing every LUST. SIN dwells in the flesh and this is why the flesh LUSTS against the Spirit. Men outside of Christ are in the wretched place of bondage to SIN in the flesh.
May the Lord enable us to realize that we must not live according to the LUST of the flesh. “Thou shalt not lust”!
This is why Paul wrote “Now I say walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out to completion the LUST (singular) of the flesh. Paul used the same root of the word “teleo” (to perfect or complete) that James used in chapter 1 - “sin having become perfected or completed brings forth death.” Living according to the flesh will allow SIN to complete its END - corruption and death.
This is the revelation I pray we will receive.
Men who live by the LUST of the flesh will die. Only Men who live by the LUST of the Spirit will live.
Thou shalt not LUST is an eternal commandment fulfilled by those who walk according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh. If we walk by the Spirit we will not complete the LUST of the flesh. We must learn to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh. For if we live according to the flesh we will die.
Thou shalt not LUST is the will of our Holy Father. Jesus did not come to destroy this commandment, rather to fulfill it. He who does the will of the Father shall live forever. Those who belong to Jesus Christ have crucified the flesh with its LUST. In Christ alone we will NOT LUST!

I believe the Lord moves out of the way also so we can be tempted in this area so sin can be exposed in us, and therefore repent. This is why just walking by grace isn't the whole answer.
Taking sinful thoughts captive form a large part on the path of denying self, I have found.

Coveting in Roman 7:7 lust = is an evil craving, self-indulgent craving. Hits home with the being turned over to the lusts of their hearts in Rom 1:24. It is good for believers to see their cravings and self-indulgent behaviour as lusts - it may help them see the seriousness and need for repentance.
