Sitting here tonight, I seen something that made me look back to past events. Events I honestly like to leave behind. However….
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”1
Take it easy, I am not talking about the the prophet part here tonight! It is the other part that as I look back on life, gives me hope. God knew me before I was formed in my mothers womb! So everything I have gone through He knew about it. Honestly as a child I remembering being very mad at Him. Why, well lets just say I was not a popular child growing up within the school system, I had to attend. In fact, I was looked down on and bullied for the biggest part of it! My family was under middle class so I didn’t have the nice clothes, had acme, and was homeschooled for the first two years. So yeah, I was at a disadvantage, and certainly considered trash; if the opinions of others really mattered. They don’t though, continue to show mercy to your bully’s!
God from what I find in scripture dislikes bully’s too, and we certainly have a bunch claiming to be Christians now days, ashamedly!
Now again scripture…
Christ said… “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”2
Jesus is telling us not to fear bully’s here, nor any human! Fear God instead and understand that you are valuable to God the Father. Let me say that again! You are valuable to God the Father! Now I did not meet Christ inwardly until I was 23. So I had to tough school out without knowing Him. After Christ, I tried to find out about where my old bully’s were. I found one and talked to him concerning Christ and forgiveness. Another I wanted too, but sadly he already died in a drug deal gone wrong.,,,
Think about this, the Pharisees brought a women to Jesus! I’m being honest, I know how embarrassment feels when everyone else seems better then you. It is an overwhelming lowly feeling! Though in Christ we don’t follow our feelings anymore, but I know how it feels. So this lady is dragged out to Christ, by religious leaders!
“At dawn [Jesus] appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing Him.“3
There was no love in this to be sure! This was a soul, one God certainly knew as to even how many hairs were on her head! The religious leaders cared not though. I can imagine her inward deep pain within that time. How many times have self proclaimed Christians did nothing but hurt those they should instead in love lead to Christ? Sadly, there are many alive today doing the same things. I can only apologize to you for their lack of love, and apparently not seeing their own sins! I do not believe they have meet Jesus yet…. However continuing on with Jesus!
“…Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with His finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.”4
Please don’t judge all of us based on some, not really of us. This is my plea to this dying world! All who claim Christ are not His! You will know us by our love. Do we see sin, as sin, yes but it is between you and Christ to figure out. When we talk to you it will be in love not hate!
At this, those who heard [the religious leaders] began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”5
My great fear within this age concerning you who do not know Christ is that you see those who claim Christ, but know Him not and you believe that their harshness represents Christ true disciples. It does not! Here is what represents Christ true disciples.
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”6
Have you been told in love, that Christ died for your sins? That He took them on the cross and God the Father allowed it! So that you could be forgiven? The four Gospels put together record the event. When God the Father put your sins on Christ. He had to turn away from Him. Christ who had been always by the Fathers side for all eternity’s was left at that very moment alone! If after Christ died He went to hell it has been debated for centuries. However, God the Father resurrected Christ from the grave! Approving Christ taking your sins onto Himself!
Now I do not know what all you have went through, nor where you are today! I do know that God loves you though! He has proved it though Jesus! When I was a teenager I couldn’t understand it, and I had many thoughts like these: Why is everyone so mean to me! What have I done for them to not like me! All I’m doing is being nice, giving them pencils, paper etc., why such hate? Why God did you do this to me? I know I said all of this, my memory is still clear on the subject.
Back then I had only heard it was to “toughen us up.” Now I can tell you it is because God knew you and me “before the creation of the world.” He has plans for you, and me. His Only begotten Son died for us on a cross! Why keep Him waiting? You and I both know we have sinned. He has opened His love up to you tonight. Go to Jesus, in repentance. Let Him heal you. Change you, and redirect your current path.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Jesus is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.”7
Christ came to offer you forgiveness, honestly the whole world! I understand your pain. I understand being undervalued by others. I understand bully’s. I also understand sin! Christ understands all these subjects even more so! He was perfect, and still had the religious constantly accusing Him. Though He did nothing wrong! Sinless, but took the sins of the world onto Himself! Go to Him tonight. Outside, inside, closet, living room! That doesn’t matter! Repent of your sins and seek Him in sincerity! Through God the Father, He promises to cleanse and change you inwardly, and put His Holy Spirit within you to give you a new life! I testify of this new life He offers. A life where all things are new, and your past feelings and hurts are soothed, and past sins are cleansed!
